November 2016 A Dance Place Newsletter Holiday Breaks Message from the Directors The holidays are a fun time of year at A Dance Place. We love creating a fun and festive atmosphere for our students! Our Share the Joy Open House week is the students' opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have learned thus far in dance class. We opt for a casual and festive demonstration as opposed to a large stage performance for a few reasons. First, Christmas is a very expensive time of year for most families and we want to keep our holiday festivities cost effective. Second, Christmas is a very busy time for our student's families and our instructors (December weekends fill up fast don't they??), and class time is built into our already very busy schedules! Lastly, our studio's fall semester focus is largely on technique, teaching and improving on the critical foundations of dance. A Dance Place's intention for Share the Joy Open House Week is to simply provide a short demonstration of fall semester class work to friends and family in a fun and festive atmosphere. We hope you enjoy this week as much as we do! Farrah Dobbins, Business Director & Amber Walker, Managing Director All studios will be closed for Thanksgiving break, Tuesday, November 22nd Sunday, November 27th. Monday classes will be held the week of Thanksgiving (to balance out the Labor Day closure). A Dance Place officially closes for Christmas Break on Wednesday, December 21st Wednesday, January 4th. Classes will reconvene as regularly scheduled Thursday, January 5th. A reminder that tuition is a monthly charge, regardless of the number of weeks in the month. Months with 5 classes are billed the same as months with 3. Therefore, December tuition is the same as every other month. HALLOWEEN WEEKn Thank you to all who participated and brought friends for Halloween Week! We had a great turnout and lot of fun! Light the Nights Parade The Performance Troupe will be performing on a float in the Light the Nights parade in Downtown Greeley Saturday, November 26th at 5:30 PM. It is a FUN and FESTIVE event to kick off the Holiday season. Come check out and cheer on our Performance Troupe! Food & Drink Reminder – IMPORTANT! We are having problems with food and drink being spilled and ground into the carpet in the waiting area at the studios. If you bring a snack for your child, please clean up after them. Also, only water in a spillproof bottle is allowed in the studios and waiting areas for students & siblings. Unfortunately, we have had several incidents of large amounts of bright red juice being spilled on the carpet. Please Respect Our Studio as You Would Your Own Home. Thank You!
