With the help of this series of skull modelsThe Anatomy of the Human Skullthe Skull Anatomy becomes transparent.
This series of skull models comprises5 different aspects:
1.) The skull model can bedismantled into 14 parts.
2.) The skull model can be dismantledinto 14 or 18 individual bones whichare differently coloured.
3.) The dismantable skull with themasticatory muscles.
4.) The dismantable skull with thefalx cerebri and tentorium cerebelli.
5.) The dismantable skull with cervicalvertebral column and hyoid bone.
Each one of these model concepts offersits own didactic approach and has beendeveloped for various specialist fields.
The synthetic cranium in question canbe dismantled into up to 18 individualbones, which have been moulded fromthe bones of natural human skull. Theindividual bones can be joined togethereasily at the natural joining positions byway of plug connections. In this way thecomplicated mosaic of the skull is renderedcomprehensible in an impressive manner,
i.e. by mounting or dismantling it stepby step.
The model is suitable for students ofhuman or dental medicine, biologists,physicians and teachers. With the aidof this model, they can rapidly obtain aspatial (three-dimensional) image of thestructure of the cranium, whereby thepossibility of mounting certain sections ofthe cranium individually if required canalso facilitate comprehension considerably.

14-PIECE MODELOF THE SKULL
Natural size, made fromSOMSO-Plast after Prof.Dr. Dr. J. W. Rohen, De-partment of Anatomy,University of Erlangen.The model is constructedfrom 14 individual parts,which can easily be dis-mantled and put back to-gether by way of inter-connecting plugs. Thesphenoid bone, occipitalbone and the two temporalbones form the basis of theskull; the two parietal bo-nes and the frontal boneattach to the anterior ofthe sphenoid bone. The fa-cial part of the skull is thencompleted through attach-ment of the right and leftmaxilla, each of which alsoincludes the lacrimal, nasaland palatine bones. Facialand cranial bones are con-nected to each other oneach side by the zygomaticbone, which in the modelis a separate element thatcan be individually remo-ved. The mandible is fixedinto sockets on either sideof the skull through a hin-ge-joint. Weight: 700 g

OFESSOR DR. DR. J.W. ROHENES OF MASTICATION AND FALX CEREBRI
QS 8/6 FALX CEREBRIThe 14 or 18 piece skull modelcan also be supplied with a
transparent plastic falx cereberiwith tentorium cerebelli.Marked on the falx cerebri isthe position of the sinuses ofthe dura mater (Sinus duraematris) as well as of the Pacchionigranulations on the sinus sagit-talis superior. The pathwaysof the venous blood and thecerebrospinal fluid can beclearly regognized.
Frontally the falx cerebri isfastened to the crista galli andsuperior at the parietal bone;
the tentorium can be supportedlaterally by the pyramidal crestand anterior in the region of thesella turcica. However, it can becompletely removed easily sothat not only the structure ofthe dura duplications but alsothe position of the sinus (blue)of the dura mater can be clearlyseen. Weight: 66 g

QS 8/3 14-PIECE MODEL OF THE HUMAN SKULLNatural size, made from SOMSO-Plast after Prof. Dr. Dr. J. W. Rohen, Departmentof Anatomy, University of Erlangen. The same model as QS 8/2, but in colour. Here,the individual bones are identified by different colours. This version of the modeleases learning of the shape and size of the individual bones and thereby assists in theunderstanding of the mosaic-like structure of the human skull. Weight: 700 g
