JOB DESCRIPTION OF asst. driller:.Perform the drilling
department's daily checklists, i.e. QHSE checks, mast/Derrick
inspection, choke and kill manifold set up, etc.Maintain accurate
records of tubular and tool dimensions (i.e. internal and external
diameter, fish neck, and serial numbers).Calculate ton-miles on
drilling line; maintain an accurate logbook and advise the Driller
on the need to slip and cut.Maintain an organized drilling
equipment store and tubular and subs inventory.Maintain proper
communication with the Driller, Toolpusher, and other department
heads.Read and interpret various gauges and meters relating to the
drilling operations; assist the Driller in maintaining records and
logs.Actively participate in pre-tour meeting with the drilling
crew for all drilling operations.Assist and relieve the Driller at
the Driller's console during drilling operations.Assist with the
preparation of equipment.Organize and supervise the drilling crews
for all operations.Assist the Driller during an emergency or well
control situation; assist in the well killing operations.Assist in
supervision of Preventive Maintenance carried out on drilling
equipment.Assist in supervision of repairs on drilling and

JOB DESCRIPTION OF DERRICKMAN:.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:Reports to
the Driller or the Assistant Driller in the event that the Driller
is not on the rig floor.FUNCTION:Handles tubular goods while
working in the Derrick. Operates and maintains drilling fluids
pumping system.
RESPONSIBLITIES:Prepare for tripping pipe.
Work derrick while tripping the drill string (i.e. pull out of
hole, run in hole, casing.
PUMPS AND OTHER EQUIPMENTMonitor mud pumps.
Maintain and repair mud pumps and equipment used for mud pumps
ensuring isolation permit procedure is followed.
Maintain all other pumps in mud pump room or mud pump area
Operate, maintain and repair gate valves associated with the mud
system.
Operate and service transfer (butterfly) valves in mud pits.
Operate and maintain chemical mixing pumps and equipment.
Operate the pits.
Operate, maintain and repair mud conditioning and solids control
equipment.
DRILLING FLUIDSMonitor Mud.
Mix drilling fluids and chemicals.
ADDITIONAL DUTIESInspect and perform routine maintenance of
derrick and connected equipment.
Prepare to commence drilling operations by:
-Aligning equipment on active systems for drilling.
-Turning on all appropriate machinery.
-Watching for returns.
-Main Raider.
Assist in running and cementing of casing, mainly working at
casing stabbing board.
Assist the Driller or Assistant Driller on the drill floor.
Stand by in the pump room or mud pump area in emergency
situations.
ADMINISTRATIVE/MANGEMENT/TECHNICALSupervise the floor crew as
per the Driller/Assistant Driller directions.
Help in maintaining daily log drilling fluid properties.
Help in maintaining daily log of drilling chemicals and mud
material.
Help in maintaining preventive maintenance records.
Maintain log and records of equipment and parts usage.
Calculate pit volumes.
Tests drilling fluids for basic properties.
Advise supervisor of all current conditions and of any
changes.
Recognise warning signs of kicks.
