그동안 잠재력을 인정받아왔던 LBS 시장은 GPS 가 내장된 스마트폰의 활성화로 인하여 다양한 Contents 와 Application 들이 많이 개발되기 시작하면서 성장이 가속화 되었다 . 그 중에서 ‘친구찾기’도 가장 주목받는 분야중의 하나였지만 Privacy 의 문제때문에 성장에 한계가 있었다 .

구글 Latitude 와 같이 기존 친구찾기 서비스에서는 Person-to-Person 의 초대와 승인으로서만 가능했으나 7Trac 에서는 Opt-in/Opt-out Group 의 개념을 도입함으로써 Privacy 문제를 해결한다 . 더 나아가 ‘그룹자동소멸’ 기능으로 정해진 시간동안에만 일시적으로 위치가 노출되어 Privacy 에 대한 우려를 없앤다 .

또 개인정보를 전혀 입력하지 않고 필요시 즉각적으로 사용을 할 수 있고 , 여러 그룹의 합류 /탈퇴를 쉽게 함으로써 스마트폰 앱의 핵심인 편리한 사용성을 제공한다 .
