Komoro is a former castle town that has an atmosphere where history and culture come alive. In addition to the magnificent Asama mountain range towering above and a rich natural environment where the Chikuma River flows, you’ll find the remains of an old castle, shrines, temples, and much more here.
Located in front of Komoro station. The center offers information on tourist facilities, day trip hot springs, and more. They also offer assistance with accommodation reservations.
There are six hot spring sources in Komoro (Takamine hot spring, Tengu hot spring, Hishino hot spring, Komoro hot spring, Nakadana hot spring, and Nunohiki hot spring). Visitors can fully enjoy the unique qualities of each hot spring.

This is a park that is located at the site of Komoro Castle, one of the top 100 castles in Japan. It is one of the most famous places in Japan for cherry blossom viewing. Resembling a sea of clouds, the cherry blossoms that can be seen from above the stone wall is a stunning sight to see. In autumn, you’ll be able to enjoy beautiful autumn leaves.

Merchant houses representative of Komoro, a town said to be a “commercial town,” line the streets with rows of warehouse-style houses. There are also rest stops that make use of the town houses.

Walk up the approach to the temple for about 15 minutes and a temple built on the cliff of the rocky mountain that enshrines Kannon appears before your eyes. An amazing view stretches out before you, all the way to Mount Asama.

The climate in Komoro is great for growing fruit. Apple picking, strawberry picking, and blueberry picking can be enjoyed seasonally.

CThe famous mountain tram that runs along a steep slope is also very popular with children. The final stop, where “Kumonosuke” the open-air bath with a great view is located, commands a panoramic view from Sakudaira to Mount Yatsugatake, even far off to Mount Fuji.
