Achilles Heel Pain: The Strongest at its Weakest Achilles Heel Pain is the worst enemy of the strongest and longest tendon in the body, the Achilles tendon. Even what is considered to be the toughest tendon can get injured too. Achilles Heel Pain can occur to anyone who overdoes even the simplest things like doing the house chores or going up and down a ladder. The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons or ACFAS states that Achilles tendonitis usually happens to grown ups and that immediate medical attention should be given once signs and symptoms of this injury is felt to avoid greater damage to occur. Bearing the pain and going for so long without proper treatment raises the chance of severe weakening of the ankle and may cause the tendon to finally rip open. Achilles Heel Pain (also called Achilles Tendonitis or Achilles Tendinosis) happens when the Achilles tendon is inflamed because of too much strain being put into it repeatedly for a long period of time. This over usage and over stressing of the Achilles tendon can cause it to have small tears in it. Achilles tendonitis patients would often complain of an inflexible and sore ankle and pain when it is moved. The pain would be more commonly experienced during the morning, and this pain will gradually increase as physical stress to the affected ankle is also increased. As this kind of injury can happen as ordinarily amidst the household, a larger percentage of Achilles tendonitis patients are players of different sports whom much physical performance is required, thus, frequent overuse of the feet and ankle is expected. The usual running and jumping that comes with sports and other recreational activities are the ones mainly responsible for causing Achilles tendonitis in most athletes. They oftentimes loose their balance while playing sports like basketball, tennis or baseball, causing the back part of their leg to be injured. Achilles tendonitis treatment can be similar to other tendonitis treatments. It can be managed by the usual ice pack remedy, the use of splints, physical therapy and the newer light therapy treatment. Your doctor may advise surgery for more severe cases of Achilles Heel Pain. As they say, prevention is always better than cure, so to avoid having Achilles tendinosis, always do warm ups prior to any form of physical exercise. To learn more visit http://www.tendlite.com

Achilles  Heel  Pain:  The  Strongest  at  its  Weakest

Achilles   Heel   Pain   is   the  worst   enemy   of   the   strongest   and   longest   tendon   in   the  body,   the   Achilles   tendon.
