Science and Research Collaboration between Australia and China

China and Australia both face some similar policy challenges that are reflected in the focus of their government effort and the focus of their research. These challenges are particularly evident in global and local environmental issues, meeting the healthcare needs of aging populations and deciding future economic directions to build and sustain prosperity in a changing world.

Griffith-UCAS Joint (Dual) PhD Program

MoU signed with the then Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to commence a Joint Phd Program in 2009:» 5 year program for UCAS students to study part of their PhD at

Griffith» Produce two separate theses; must satisfy degree requirements

prescribed by each institution» Must be in a research area where there are existing research

linkages e.g environmental sciences, water, nanotechnology and drug discovery

» Two testamurs awarded separately» 10 students will be selected for the 2013 round» One has successfully completed the program
