Como (as, how, however) Hasta que (until)

Cuando (when) Mientras (while)

Después (de) que (after) Según (according to, as)

Donde (where, wherever) Tan pronto (como) (as soon as)

Indicative or subjunctive?

✔ These conjunctions require the INDICATIVE when the event in the adverbial subordinate clause has taken place and it's a complete action:

(I always study when I go to the library)

✔ These conjunctions require the SUBJUNCTIVE when the event in the adverbial subordinate clause has not yet occurred and it's still pending from the point of view of the main verb. Note that the main clause expresses future time.

Yo voy a estudiar cuando vaya a la biblioteca

(I´m going to study when I go to the library)

Como, donde, según, aunque✔ Use INDICATIVE with como, donde and según when referring to something definite or known:

La fiesta de cumpleaños es donde ella dice.

(The birthday party is where she says)

✔ Use SUBJUNCTIVE with como, donde and según when referring to something indefinite or unknown:

La fiesta de cumpleaños es donde ella diga.

(The birthday party is wherever she says)

✔ Use also SUBJUNCTIVE with aunque when it introduces a condition not regarded as fact:

Compraré la casa aunque es cara (I´ll buy the house although it’s expensive) Compraré la casa aunque sea cara (… although it may be expensive)
