on 9th February, 2014 (Sunday) for admission toIntegrated Ph.D. degree programs at IISc Bangalore(IISc) and M.Sc. (two-years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual degree and other post-bachelor’s degreeprograms at IITs (Bhubaneswar (IITBBS), Bombay(IITB), Delhi (IITD), Gandhinagar (IITGN), Guwahati(IITG), Hyderabad (IITH), Indore (IITI), Kanpur (IITK),Kharagpur (IITKgp), Madras (IITM) and Roorkee (IITR))for the academic session 2014-15. JAM 2014 is opento all nationals. However, foreign nationals will berequired to satisfy the rules and regulations of theadmitting Institute(s) pertaining to foreign students foradmission.

A candidatecan apply/register for JAM 2014 through Online processonly during 16th September to 16th October, 2013. Astudent has to first register as a user on the JAM-2014website. Then the candidate needs to fill-in all thepersonal data. Once all the personal data is submitted(the personal data cannot be changed at a later stage)the candidate can make a payment either through net-banking or through challan. In case you choose to paythrough net-banking, the site will take you to a securesite from which the payment can be made and then youwill be directed back to JAM-2014 website for takingprintout of the online registration form. In case youchoose to pay through challan, you can generate a PDF-file of the challan, latest by 12th October, 2013. Thechallan needs to be presented, the next day, to any CoreBanking Branch of State Bank of India for payment. Aftertwo days of making the payment, you will be allowed tologin into your JAM-2014 account for updating theinformation related to challan payment and only thenyou will be able to take a printout of the online registrationform. Note:-

i) In case SC/ST and OBC candidates do not qualify evenafter 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seatswould be de-reserved for General Category.

ii) Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degreefrom Chatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur,being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course.Duration of this course will be 03 years.

Selection:Written Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test in the following manner:-

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

RELAXATIONS AND CONCESSIONS

(1) Relaxations and concessions for SC/ST/PhysicallyChallenged candidates:

(i) Upper age relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST asapplicable.

(ii) For Physically Challenged, upper age is relaxableby 10 years for General Category, 13 years forOBC(Non Creamy Layer) and 15 years for SC/STcategory. Such candidates will be required toproduce the requisite certificate, in the prescribedformat of Government of India, from a competentauthority, at the time of interview, if called for.

(2) Relaxation for OBC (Non Creamy Layer):

Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years to only those OBCcandidates belonging to ‘Non-Creamy Layer’. Suchcandidates will be required to produce the requisitecertificate, in the prescribed format of Government ofIndia, from a competent authority issued in the currentyear, at the time of interview, if called for.

The OBC candidates who belong to ‘Creamy Layer’ arenot entitled to OBC concession and they have to indicatetheir category as ‘General’.

(3) Concession for J&K Candidates:

Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for the candidateswho had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu& Kashmir from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89.

(4) Relaxation for Ex-servicemen:

Age relaxation to ex-servicemen will be as perGovernment of India guidelines.

(5) Relaxation for internal candidates

The maximum age limits indicated in the advertisementwill not apply to the applicants already serving in MECL.Maximum age is relaxable up to 20 (Twenty) years tothe retrenched ex-Contingent workmen of MECL whoapply for the posts of Machinist (Sl.no. 13), Stenographer(Sl.no.14) and Operator (Computer (Sl.no.15) subject,however, to physical fitness for the job.
