Everything is looking pretty positive actually: the dojo is spacious, with a high ceiling and lots of natural light, and the end wall is mirror-lined so there is a general feeling of light and space. Mirrors also are helpful in jo and bokken training. I attach a photo of the mat area to give you an idea of the space. The changing rooms and toilets are clean and modern and the whole centre is neat and well run. The Centre has a Facebook page and a website (metabolic-fitness.com.au ) with more photos . We now have just over 25 active students, and actual training attendances range from 8 to 16 per class. These figures are about double what we had at the time of the move from Footscray, and the class has a good atmosphere, so I would have to say the move has been very successful. We had one student take a 5th kyu test at the recent September TTC and Kyu Gradings weekend, and should have three going for 5th Kyu in December, and hopefully also a couple going for 3rd Kyu. I am expecting that we will gradually expand further. Training times are still Monday and Thursday at 7.30pm. I have been trying for a while to get a third class for the week, and about 2 months ago we commenced a Saturday morning class (9.30 - 11.30am) Attendances at this class so far are only 4 to 6 students as it seems quite a few people have work commitments on Saturdays. But those that come are keen, and I have been devoting about half of that class to weapons training. Last Saturday we all went to lunch after training and this was enjoyed by all. I am hopeful we can build up the Saturday class.
