CE: 3) Since being elected as the president of M.U.S what changes have you brought in M.U.S?
PR: Ans: I have tried to formalise things in M.U.S and have more involvement from the general Shia public. For that we visited all Shia Centres in UK …… And had official meetings with the people responsible in running our centres. My cabinet and I published children syllabus, which is now well established amongst our centres. We started teacher training for religious Madrasas. We have a number of Ulama, who were not members before but are members now. We registered M.U.S and launched a website. We started leisure Camps for Ulama, which did not happen in Europe before. There used to be camps for children but these were held in Imambargahs, we took these camps to a next stage and hired camp sites to organise youth camps. Our first Shia Youth Camp went for Ziyarat to Iran this year. We took lead in the political arena and went to EuropAean Parliament and House of Lords. Our office is fully active. We made Imamiyyah Women and Imamiyyah Youth.
CE: 4) Why is it that the women wing of M.U.S is still not fully active in serving the Shia community in UK?
PR: Ans: There was no formal activity for Women in M.U.S. I divided my first two years of presidency into four phases and set targets for myself and my cabinet for each phase. Alhamdulillah, we achieved those targets in each of those phases. However, I had wished to formalise an infrastructure for each one of the departments, like Imamiyyah Women, in the final phase of my first tenure. For various reasons that did not happen. For my second tenure, I have again set some targets for us; 2013 is the year of formalising Infrastructure and we are in the pro-cess of formalising the zonal structure. I have started visiting different zones and am keeping in touch with zonal coordinators. Imamiyyah Women will have a better function once we have a strong structure in place.
CE: 5) Can we anticipate that M.U.S will be working in the near future to create a Sunni and Shia Moon sighting committee?
PR: Ans: At the moment we are trying to bring a consensus in the Shia Community on Moon Sighting and to some extent we have some unity now in the Pakistani Shia Community. Our aim is to bring both Shia and Sunni Commu-nities on a united platform in the future.
CE: 6) What do you think should be the political role of the Shia Community in the UK?
PR: Ans: The Shias have to play a united and much stronger role than present. We need to start making our own decisions rather than having others make our decisions for us. We need to be more politically involved and pay serious attention to our children's education for that matter. I have started giving a road map to our zonal coordi-nators for our role in present and near future.
CE:7) What kind of guidance and support can M.U.S provide to Shia Islamic Centres?
PR: Ans: We guide them in their legal matters, Madrasas and Resident Aalim issues. We do not get involved in day to day running of our Centres. We provide teacher training for there Madrasa Teachers. If they are in process of expanding then we guide them in ways to fund raise.
CE: 8) What aims and objectives do you want to achieve by doing conventions in different cities in the UK?
PR: Ans: We want to upgrade the people running the Imambargahs and bring more awareness to our community at large. Have better form of unity and provide networking opportunities for community members and leaders.
CE: 9) As you know Ulama preaching in different Islamic Centres have a low income do you have any plans to improve the life standards of Ulama in the UK?
PR: Ans: This month, we are launching a programme for Ulama that are struggling financially. It would require them to fill out a form for us to assess their eligibility. From next month onwards we will be providing some sup-port to those Ulama.

Continued Interview of M.U.S President …
CE:10) There are lots of Islamic Centres that are in search of a Resident Aalim; what steps are you taking in-regards to providing a Resident Aalim to those Is-lamic Centres?
PR: Ans: We have many Centres without a Resident Aalim and we do have many Ulama who are not Resident Aalims anymore. Now our Centres need to under-stand that they should contribute better for Ulama to consider them and we need our Ulama to understand the needs of our Centres like being able to com-municate in English and giving time to the Centres. We also need at least five new Aalims every year from British Shia M.U.Slims that can speak English very well.
CE: 11) What practical steps have you taken to improve the relationships between interfaith and intrafaith reli-gions in the UK?
PR: Ans: I have asked all Our members of Imamiyyah Council to join their local Interfaith Forums. We are in contact with Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) and British Muslim Forum (BMF). We have a good relationship with them.
CE: 12) The UK parliament voted against the principle of taking military action against Syria; what is your opinion on this matter?
PR: Ans: I am very pleased at this decision and hope to see them not take part in any military action against Syria as I do believe that the military action will turn into a war and this war will turn very messy.
CE: 13) If the US does decide to take military action against Syria, what would be the effect of this strike on the M.U.Slim World especially in the UK?
PR: Ans: I think US and her allies have no option but to strike Syria due to Syria being a close Ally with Iran. US wants to teach a lesson to all its opposition, peaceful or not, that you cannot oppose US in this world. That is why both China and Russia are opposing US's decision. They both believe that they have a major role to play in the new world order. US and her allies have not played in role in Bahrain or Yemen due to Saudi Arabia as their Ally. Howev-er, Syria is a serious threat to them due to her alliance with Iran. Iran and her allies seem the biggest threat to Isra-el and her well wishers. The Zionist lobby is extremely strong in the West and hence it wishes to have all its opposi-tion destroyed in the Middle East including Syria. Western Powers are being very short-sighted in going to Syria for a regime change as they fully understand that the Rebels who will replace the regime is far worse than the present regime, but the present regime is not their Ally.
CE: 14) How do you see the future of M.U.S in the next 5 years? PR: Ans: Insha Allah, if things go to plan then M.U.S will be the leading organisation of Europe in five years.

Imam Ali Raza (A.S)
Short Biography
Name : Imam Ali ar-Riza(a.s.) - the 8th Holy Imam
Title : Gharib al-Ghuraba, Moeen-uz-Zoafa-e-wal-Fuqara,
Shah-e-Khurasaan
Agnomen : Abul-Hassan
Father : Imam Moosa-e-Kazim(a.s.) - the 7th Holy Imam
Mother : Ummul-Baneen Bibi Najma
Wiladat : At Madina on 11th of Zi-Qadah 148 AH (765 AD)
Martyred : In Mashhad at age 55, on 23rd Zi-Qadah 203 AH (817 AD)
Imam Ali ar-Riza(a.s.) inherited the knowledge of his grandfather the Messenger of Allah( pbuh), thus becoming its pioneering fountain head that quenched the thirst of those who were thirsty for knowledge. History narrates a great deal of his scholarly stances and intellectual discourses in which he achieved victory over those who opposed the Divine Message, excelling in various branches of scholarship with which he provided the seekers of knowledge and the thinkers of the time. Ibrahim ibn al-Abbas al-Suli is reported to have said: "I never saw al-Riza(a.s.) unable to provide the answer to any question he received, nor have I ever seen any contemporary of his more learned than he was. Al-Mamoon used to put him to test by asking him about almost everything, and he always provided him with the answer, and his answer and example was always derived from the Holy Qur'an."
