Inserting DiscsYour player accepts only one disc at atime for playback. Do not attempt to loadmore than one disc.Make sure the label side is facing up whenyou insert the disc. If the player continuesto eject a correctly inserted disc, push theReset switch (located behind the detach-able front panel) with a pointed objectsuch as a ball-point pen.Playing a disc while driving on a verybumpy road may result in skips, but thiswill not scratch the disc or damage theplayer.

New DiscsAs a protective measure to prevent the CDfrom jamming, the CD player will automati-cally eject discs with irregular surfaces orinserted incorrectly. When a new disc isinserted into the player and ejected afterinitial loading, using your finger, feel aroundthe inside of the centre hole and outsideedge of the disc. If you feel any small bumpsor irregularities, this could inhibit properloading of the disc. To remove the bumps,rub the inside edge of the hole and outsideedge of the disc with a ball-point pen orother such instrument, then insert the discagain.

Extraccin del panelfrontal

Presione el botn PWR (alimentacin) paradesconectar la alimentacin.

Presione el botn de liberacin situado en laesquina inferior izquierda hasta que el panelfrontal salga hacia fuera.

Grasp the left side of the front panel andpull it out.

Notes: The front panel may become hotin normal usage (especially theconnector terminals), this is notmalfunction.

To protect the front panel, placeit in the supplied carrying case.

Press the PWR (Power) button to turn offthe power.

Appuyez sur la touche de libration dans lecoin infrieur gauche jusqu ce que lepanneau avant se dsenclenche.

Afin de protger le panneauavant, rangez-le dans ltuifourni.

Sujete la parte izquierda del panel frontal ytire de l hacia afuera.

Notas: El panel frontal podr calentarsedurante la operacin normal(especialmente los terminales delconector), esto no se deber a unmal funcionamiento.

Para proteger el panel frontal,mtalo en la caja de transportesuministrada.

1 1. Select the radio band and tune in adesired radio station you wish to store inthe preset memory.

2. Make sure that the lamp on the F button isilluminated, then press and hold any one ofthe preset buttons (1 through 6) for at least2 seconds until the station frequency onthe display blinks.

3. Press the preset button into which you wishto store the station while the frequencydisplay is blinking (within 5 seconds).The display stops blinking once the stationhas been memorized. The display showsthe band, preset No. with a triangle (9)and station frequency memorized.

4. Repeat the procedure to store up to 5other stations onto the same band.To use this procedure for other bands,simply select the band desired and repeatthe procedure.

The RDS (Radio Data System) is aradio information system using the 57kHz subcarrier of regular FM broadcast.The RDS allows you to receive avariety of information such as trafficinformation, station names, and toautomatically re-tune to a strongertransmitter that is broadcasting thesame programme.

If the preset station and the stations in theAF list cannot be received:The unit searches again for a station in thePI (Programme Identification) list.If there are still no stations receivable inthe area, the unit displays the frequency ofthe preset station and the preset indicatordisappears.If the signal level of the Regional (Local)station being tuned becomes too weak toreceive, press the same preset locationbutton to tune in a Regional station in otherdistrict.

Note: For presetting the RDS stations,refer to the Radio Operationsection. The RDS stations can bepreset in the F1 and F2 bands only.

Traffic information is heard only when it isbeing broadcast. If traffic information is notbeing broadcast, the unit is set in thestandby mode. When a traffic informationbroadcast begins, the unit automaticallyreceives it and the display shows "TRF-INFO" for a few seconds and returns to thePS display.

When the traffic information broadcast isover, the unit will automatically set in thestandby mode.


Press the T.INFO button repeatedly untilthe T.INFO indicator appears in thedisplay.

Notes: If the traffic information broadcast signal

falls below a certain level, the unitremains in the receiving mode for 1minute. If the signal remains below acertain level for over 1 minute, the"T.INFO" indicator blinks.

If you do not want to listen to the trafficinformation being received, lightly pressthe T.INFO button to skip that trafficinformation message. The T. INFO modewill remain in the ON position to receivethe next traffic information message.

If the volume level is changed whilereceiving traffic information, thechanged volume level will be memo-rized. When traffic information isreceived next time, the volume level willbe automatically adjusted to the levelmemorized.

Remarques: Quand le signal d'mission des informa-

Priority NewsThis function allows you to preset to givepriority to the News programme. You willnever miss the News programme as theunit automatically gives priority to theNews programme whenever it beginsbroadcasting, and interrupts the pro-gramme you are currently listening. Thisfeature is functional when your unit is setto a mode other than the LW and MWmodes.

M.I.X. (Random Play) M.I.X. (Lecture alatoire)

1 Press the F (Function) button in the CDShuttle mode. The lamp on the button willturm off.






Press the M.I.X. button in the play orpause mode. The M.I.X. indicator willilluminate and the tracks on the disc will beplayed back in a random sequence. Afterall the tracks on the disc have been playedback once, the player will begin a newrandom sequence play until the M.I.X.mode is cancelled.

To cancel M.I.X. play, press the M.I.X.button again.

Appuyez sur la touche M.I.X. en mode delecture ou de pause. L'indicateur M.I.X.s'allume et les plages du disque sontreproduites dans un ordre alatoire.Quand toutes les plages du disque ont treproduites une fois, le lecteur commenceune nouvelle squence de lecturealatoire jusqu' ce que vous annuliez lemode M.I.X.

Pour annuler la lecture M.I.X., appuyez denouveau sur la touche M.I.X.

Scanning Programmes Balayage des plages Escaneo de programas

Press the SCAN button to activate theScan mode. The first 10 seconds of eachtrack will be played back in succession.

To stop scanning, press the SCAN buttonto deactivate the Scan mode.
