Design is the historical and present cohesion of the eye, the mind and the hand. My design schooling thus far has demonstrated to me a discipline

of critique and the architectural language within it. I have created a framework of skill, from which has developed a drive and a passion to pursue design

further. I am in search of a challenging, enriching and creative environment where I can share and foster my love of design.

The project will be comprised of a community gallery serving as a venue for traveling exhibits. The design will be conscious of sustainable materials and the structure will employ long span steel construction. The expressed project will display a thorough understanding of the structural workings of long span steel construction with a cohesion of drawings, and diagrams to accompany the structural model.

The goal was to explore 3-Dimensional figures and complex transformations and how they may lead to spatial surface textures or patterns. These transformations will be address by exploring negative space, perimeter, area conditions andclustering of elements. The 3-Dimensional figured explored was a rhombic dodecahedron. The transformations will create a tectonic cohesion with a solid form to convey an ability to coordinate geometric and spatial conditions.

The project will synthesize an envelope precedent through iterative analysis of the building skin to produce section and detailed drawings to accompany a model of the studied envelope. The precedent studied is the Kraanspoor Office Building in Amsterdam by OTH Architecten.

The project sits on the Waterfront Park Bay in Seattle, Washington. The glazed terracotta cladding used in the project is a product by NBK called the Baguette. The cladding acts as a rain screen due to the overlapping joints and allows for a balance in air pressure. The panels offer a play of light on the facade and are easily removable by clipping into place individually. The product is a LEED certified.

The design will enhance and create a new vibrant urban experience through the promenade of the Alameda. The rehabilitation will stimulate economic growth and cultural vitality while creating a cohesion with the existing motion of the city.
