FOR IDENTIFIYING & RESOLVING REAL PROBLEMS IN ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIES

Final Year projects are the capstone of engineering education. After going through technical subjects during the studies, the young brains have the necessary background and have learnt how to acquire technical knowledge for solving real life challenges. The work on the Final Year project helps a student integrate the knowledge, from various courses that he/ she has studied, for solving a problem. As per the curriculum of Gujarat Technological University ,Industrial Shodh Yatra (ISY) is the course of action that leads a team of students towards a creative interaction with diverse users to discover a challenge/problem, the solution of which would lead to a better product or a more efficient process for a particular user or for a group of users or an industry.

With the guidance of UDISHA Club members to produce quality and real-life projects in technical education by identifying the problem in various areas of Electronics & Communication industry, Electronics & Communication Department at Parul Polytechnic Institute, Limda, Vadodara organized a SHODHYATRA-2015 on 4th June, 2015. A Core group of faculty members were guiding the students with this new innovative idea of understanding the difficulties and problems faced by the industry and to make such projects which may reduce their hurdles and facilitate them with their invention & also helpful for the society. The team of 40 students & 2 Faculty Members of Electronics & Communication Engineering have visited two companies in the Waghodia GIDC, Vadodara. The teams visited the following industries.

1) MATRIX COMSEC PVT. LTD. 2) SHREE ELECTRONICS

The visit is considered as the most tactical methods of teaching. It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Visiting a company gives students a practical perspective on the world of work, it gives them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college. We have started our shodhyatra visit at 10:30 AM on 4th June-2015 with 40 students and 2 Faculty members of Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of Parul Polytechnic Institute(1st shift).

The team of the above students from Electronics & Communication Department was led by the two faculties of EC department, Mr. Arjun Jayswal & Ms. Ankita Mishra. The teams have discussion with the R and D teams of industries regarding to industrial problems & solution of them. They were introduced to the various activities performed by the company. A Power Point presentation was made by the students on the objectives of the Sodh-Yatra. The advantage of involving students on the live problems is that the industries will be able to find solutions for their routine and long lasting problems. The idea mooted by students of Parul Polytechnic Institute was appreciated by the authorized person and depth discussion was held on the modalities of trouble shooting.

The Shodh-Yatra will be continued For Identifying and Resolving Real Problems in Electronics & Communication Industries. We look forward for more industries and also in more ways for empowering students in terms of up gradation of knowledge.
