SELECTION AND ENROLLMENT

Those applicants who successfully meet all minimum entry requirements and provide all required documents are considered by the Admissions Committee for admission to NU undergraduate programs and awarding the Nazarbayev University educational grant. The final results will be announced in June/July, 2019. Fee-paying admission is available since 2016.

WHAT IS UNDERGRADUATE/TRANSFER ADMISSION?

Applications may participate in selection competition to be admitted to Nazarbayev University undergraduate programs. In a such way, admitted applicant will have 4 years of studies on one of Nazarbayev University undergraduate Schools. Transfer admission refers to applicants who are students of other universities.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR DIRECT/TRANSFER ADMISSION?

• secondary school graduates with certificate or its foreign equivalent or certificates/diploma on completion of a college or IB Diploma Program or A-Level or UK Foundation Program;

• students of the final year of secondary school or its foreign equivalent, or final year college or IB Diploma Program or UK Foundation Program students;

• winner/ prize-winner of the International Subject Olympiads awarded by gold, silver and bronze medals for the last three years and Republican Olympiad winners/ prize-winners awarded by gold and silver medals for the current academic year

• applicants who completed at least one academic year of an undergraduate program at a universities with CGPA not less than 3.0 out of 4.0

SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION FEE

Applicants can be enrolled to undergraduate programs of Nazarbayev University on an educational grant “Nazarbayev University” under the state educational order and on a fee-paying basis. There are discounts for some categories of applicants.

Stages for selection competition “Nazarbayev University” state grant:

• Online Registration with submission of all required test results

• Consideration of applicants packages with test results by the Admissions Committee of each School

• Submission of the documents to Nazarbayev University Admissions Department

ACT (American College Testing) – a standardized test for secondary school achievement and college admissions in USA. The test has an optional 30 minutes long writing section (ACT with writing results)Detailed information available on https://www.act.org

SAT Subject Test (SAT – Scholastic Assessment Test) – a standardized test to identify students’ aptitude to study certain subjects to apply to the undergraduate program in USA higher educational institutions. There are 20 SAT Subject Tests in five general subject areas: English, history, languages, mathematics and science.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – a standardized English proficiency test administered by the British Council, University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, and IDP Education Pty Ltd;

Or

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – a standardized English proficiency test developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) (Princeton, New Jersey, USA) in the format of TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test) and TOEFL PBT (Paper-based Test).
