Kapayapaan ang Sumaatin!
Oktubre 2010 ng magdesisyon akong lumaban bilang Punong Barangay
subalit ako’y nabigo, labis kong dinamdam ang mga pangyayaring iyon, pero ang
pagkatalo kong iyon ang siya ring nagpatatag sa aking sarili. Lumipas ang
mahabang panahon at ito’y naghilom.
Dumating ang sumunod na eleksyon, Oktubre 2013, lumaban akong muli
at sa pagkakataong ito ay hindi ninyo ako binigo. Bilang ganti ay susuklian ko
ng buong pusong paglilingkod ang ibinigay ninyong pagtitiwala sa akin.
Mga kabarangay, tapos na po ang eleksyon, magkaisa na tayo at
magsama-samang muli upang marating natin ang nag-iisa nating mithiing
“KAUNLARA’Y DADAMHIN NG BUMABANGONG BUHANGIN”.

TANGGAPAN NG PUNUMBAYAN
MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

Punumbayan
KATANGIAN AT INTERPRETASYON SA OPISYAL NA LOGO NG BARANGAY
Ang opisyal na sagisag (logo) ay binubuo ng dalawang hugis bilog, isa(1) sa loob
at isa sa labas. Ang espasyo sa gitna ng dalawang (2) hugis bilog ay nakasulat
ang mga sumusunod:
BARANGAY BUHANGIN – pangalan ng barangay at nakalagay sa itaas na
bahagi ng bilog.
ATIMONAN, QUEZON – pangalan ng bayan at probinsyang nakaksakop
sa barangay sa ibabang bahagi ng hugis bilog.
Ang gitnang bahagi ng nasa loob ng bilog ang mga sumasagisag sa
pagkakakilanlan ng barangay ay ang mga sumusunod:
KULAY DILAW na sumasagisag sa liwanag na siyang nagbibigay pag-asa
sa mga mamamayan ng barangay
DAGAT na sumisimbolo na ang barangay ay isang kostal barangay
KULAY LUNTIAN na sumisimbolo sa yamang lupa na siyang
sumasagisag na ang Barangay Angeles ay napapaligiran ng mga
kabundukan.
PUNO NG NIYOG naglalarawan na niyog ang isa sa pangunahing
produkto ng barangay.
Ang pagkilala ay ibinibigay sa mga nag-ambag para sa pagsasa-ayos ng
opisyal na sagisag (logo) ng barangay at ito ay ang mga sumusunod:
A. KGG. BERNARDITA V. CANDIDO (Dating Punong Barangay) –
nagpatupad ng pagkakaroon ng opisyal na sagisag ang barangay.
B. G. ARMANDO L. VILLAMIEL (Dating Kalihim ng Barangay) sa
pagdisensyo at pagguhit ng sagisag
VISION
Patuloy na paglahok at pagtangkilik sa mga kinauukulang ahensiya ng pamahalaan na
mailapit ang mamamayan ng Barangay para sa Programa at Proyektong Pangkaunlaran,
Pangkabuhayan at Pangkalusugan, para labanan ang Kahirapan.
MISSION
Isang Barangay na ang mamamayan ay nagkakaisa, sumasampalataya at may takot sa Diyos;
Tumatalima sa umiiral na Batas; Pinapanatili ang Kapayapaan at Kaayusan;
May malinis at Luntiang Kapaligiran; Pinangangalagaan at Pinagyayaman ang Likas na
Yaman.
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY BUHANGIN
Ang nayon o Barangay Buhangin ay natatayo sa dakong silangan ng Bayang
Atimonan. Ito ay may layong anim na kilometro mula sa kabayanan. Dito ay naglalagos ang
Pambansang Lansangan. Ito ay may katamtamang lawak at napapaligiran ng mga bundok
sa dakong habagatan; nayon ng Lumutan sa dakong silangan; dagat ng Lamon Bay sa
dakong amihan at kanluran naman nito ang nasabing Ilog ng Minanukan. Dito ay may
Bahay Nayon, may kapilya na hanggang sa ngayon ay kalapit ng isang progresibong
Paaralang Bayan.
Ang barangay na ito ay kasalukuyang nababahagi sa anim na purok na
pinamamahalaan o pinaglilingkuran ng mga halal na Opisyales ng Barangay.
Ayon sa pananaliksik ang pook na ito ay tinawag na Buhangin sapagkat sa mga
ginawang paghuhukay ng mga taga-nayon sa lupaing kanilang nasaskupan ay puro
buhangin ang kanilang nahuhukay.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Buhangin is one of coastal barangays of Atimonan, located at about 6 kilometers away from the town’s poblacion . It is traversed by Maharlika Highway, bounded on the North by Lamon Bay, on the south by Brgy. Habingan, on the east by Barangay Lumutan and on the west by Barangay Talaba. It has a total land area of 181.1019 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office composed of six puroks – Purok I, Purok II, Purok III, Purok IV, Purok V, Purok VI. Topography of the barangay is mostly plain on the coastal side mountainous and mountainous on the other side. Almost 94% of land is agricultural. Definite data were specified below: 2.1 Location

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR
RHU Survey of population 2014, showed that Barangay Buhangin had a population of 1641 with a computed population growth rate of 1.17%. There are more male than female, with age distribution revealing 70.14% of the total population belongs to ages 10-59 years old; 19.62% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 10.24% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Barangay Buhangin working population is greater than dependent population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is
computed at 37.36% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Iglesia ni Cristo

94% or 15 hectares area of the Barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops are rice, copra and vegetables. The total irrigated is 24 hectares is the total irrigated are and 5 hectares is rain fed. Some of the populace are leaned on poultry production for additional source of income.
