빔 분할 다중 접속 (Beam Division Multiple Access) 기술 (1/2)

• 시간, 주파수, 코드, 공간 자원 외에 빔을 분할하여 사용

• SDMA와 다르게 채널 정보를 몰라도 상대 BS나 MS의 위치 정보를안다고 가정하여 적응적으로 빔을 형성하여 통신함

빔 분할 다중 접속 (Beam Division Multiple Access) 기술 (2/2)

• Beam-forming을 사용한 다중접속 방식

• BS간 backhauling 망과 BS-MS 통신 모두에 사용

• 주기적 위치 feedback을 통해 상대 BS 또는 MS의 위치 정보를안다고 가정

• 기존 이동통신 주파수 대역 뿐 아니라 고주파수 대역 (예: 28GHz, 40GHz, 60GHz)의 사용

Beam selection problem (1/2)

• BS는 단말이 사용할 beam을 설정- 대략적인 beam angle 및 beam width 설정- 단말의 위치 정보 및 rotating beam 기반 CQI feedback을 사용하여최적의 beam을 찾음> 가능한 모든 angle로 beam을 전송하고 단말이 가장 높은 SINR을가진 beam을 선택함으로써 최적의 수신 beam을 찾을 수 있음

> 단말의 송신 beam도 channel reciprocity에 의해 찾을 수 있음

• 단말의 상황에 따라서 narrow beam 혹은 wide beam 사용- Wide beam: 단말의 이동 속도가 빠르고 NLOS 상황에있어서 SINR이 낮은 단말

- Narrow beam: 단말의 이동 속도가 느리고 LOS가 보장되는 단말

Beam formation problem (1/5)• 각 beam의 power (Pm) 및 direction(θm)을 결정 (optimization)• 고려할 사항

- Side lobe of beam: 각 beam들은 side lobe를 가지고 있고 이러한side lobe가 inter-beam interference를 미침

- Beam pattern을 closed form function으로 얻기 어려우므로 G(θm)라는 generalized function으로 modeling (θm는 beam의 angle)

- 각 user에게 하나의 beam이 할당될 경우의 문제에 대해서 다룸

Mobility support in BDMA system (1/2)

• BDMA 시스템에서의 이동성

- 각 단말은 일정한 속도로 움직임

- 단말이 빠른 속도로 움직일 경우 위치 estimation에 오차 발생

> 단말 속도가 120km/h : 100ms에 3.33m이동

> 단말 속도가 36km/h : 100ms에 1m이동

> BDMA 시스템에서는 단말의 위치 기반 beam forming을 이용하여

data를 전송하므로 이동성이 문제가 됨
