Important Precautions

On Installation

D o not allow anything to rest upon or roll over the pow er cord, and do not placethe display w here the pow er cord is subject to dam age.

D o not use this display near w ater such as near a bathtub, w ashbow l, kitchensink, laundry tub, in a w et basem ent, or near a sw im m ing pool.

D isplays are provided w ith ventilation openings in the cabinet to allow the releaseof heat generated during operation. If these openings are blocked, built-up heatcan cause failures w hich m ay result in a fire hazard. Therefore, N EVER:

Block the bottom ventilation slots by placing the display on a bed, sofa, rug, etc.Place the display in a built-in enclosure unless proper ventilation is provided.Cover the openings w ith cloth or other m aterial.

Place the display near or over a radiator or heat source.

D o not rub or strike the Active M atrix LCD w ith anything hard as this m ay scratch,m ar, or dam age the Active M atrix LCD perm anently.

D o not press the LCD screen w ith your finger for a long tim e as this m ay causesom e afterim ages.

Som e dot defects m ay appear as Red, G reen or Blue spots on the screen.H ow ever, this w ill have no im pact or effect on the display perform ance.

If possible, use the recom m ended resolution to obtain the best im age quality foryour LC D display. If used under any m ode except the recom m ended resolution,som e scaled or processed im ages m ay appear on the screen. H ow ever, this ischaracteristic of the fixed-resolution LCD panel.

Leaving a fixed im age on the screen for a long tim e m ay cause dam age to thescreen and cause im age burn-in. M ake sure to use a screen saver on the product.Burn-in and related problem s are not covered by the w arranty on this product.

D o not shock or scratch the front and sides of the screen w ith m etallic objects.O therw ise, it m ay cause dam age to the screen.

M ake sure the panel faces forw ard and hold it w ith both hands to m ove. If youdrop the product, the dam aged product can cause electric shock or fire. Contactan authorized the service center for repair.

Disassembling the stand

1. Place the m onitor face dow n on the cushion or soft cloth.

2. Loosen the screw w hich is attached to the stand base, then take off the stand basefrom stand body.

ImportantThis illustration depicts the general model of connection. Your monitor may differ fromthe items shown in the picture.

Do not carry the product upside down holding only the stand base. The product mayfall and get damaged or injure your foot.

Connecting the stand

1. Place the m onitor w ith its front facing dow nw ard on a soft cloth.

2. Assem ble the stand base into stand body in the correct direction as show n in

Connecting the Display

Before setting up the monitor, ensure that the power to the monitor, the computer

system, and other attached devices is turned off.

Positioning your display

1. Adjust the position of the panel in various w ays for m axim um com fort.

Tilt Range: -5˚~15˚

Ergonomic

It is recommended that in order to maintain an ergonomic and comfortable viewing

position, the forward tilt angle of the monitor should not exceed 5 degrees.

OSD LOCKED/UNLOCKED

This function allows you to lock the current control settings, sothat these settings are not inadvertently changed. To lock theOSD settings, press and hold the MENUbutton for severalseconds. The message "OSD LOCKED" appears.

You can unlock the OSD settings at any time bypushing the MENU button for several seconds. Themessage "OSD UNLOCKED" appears.

Control Panel Functions

This Indicator lights up as red when the display isoperating normally(On Mode). If the display is inSleep Mode (Energy Saving), this indicator colorchanges to flicker.

AUTO/SETButton

AUTO IMAGE ADJUSTMENTWhen adjusting your display settings, always pressthe AUTO/SET button prior to entering the OnScreen Display(OSD). This will automatically adjustyour display image to the ideal settings for the

current screen resolution size (display mode).

The best display mode is:

This is lens for light sensor sletect outside luminance,when setting AUTO BRIGHT ON.

Screen Adjustment

Making adjustments to the image size, position and operating parameters of 

the display is quick and easy with the On Screen Display Control system.

A short example is given below to familiarize you with the use of the controls.

The following section is an outline of the available adjustments and selections

you can make using the OSD.

To m ake adjustm ents in the O n Screen D isplay, follow these steps:

Press the M EN U B utton, then the m ain m enu of the O SD appears.

To access a control, use the or B uttons. W hen the icon you w ant

becom es highlighted, press the A U TO /SET B utton.

U se the / B uttons to adjust the im age to the desired level. U se the

A U TO /SET B utton to select other sub-m enu item s.

Push the M EN U B utton once to return to the m ain m enu to select another

function. Push the M EN U B utton tw ice to exit from the O SD .

NOTE

Allow the display to stabilize for at least 30 m inutes before m aking im age adjustm ents.

EZ ZOOMING

The OSD screen will appear when you touch the button on the left bottom of the

monitor.

EZ Zoom lowers the display’s resolution in

single-step increments. Depressing the buttononce lowers the resolution by one step; while asecond button-press returns the resolution tothe original display settings.

• Check and see if the power cord is connectedproperly to the power outlet.

• Press the Power button.

• If the display is in power saving mode, try movingthe mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard to

bring up the screen.• Try to turn on the PC.

• This message appears when the signal from thePC (video card) is out of horizontal or verticalfrequency range of the display. See the'Specifications' section of this manual andconfigure your display again.

• This message appears when the signal cablebetween your PC and your display is notconnected. Check the signal cable and try again.

• You can secure the current control settings,so that they cannot be inadvertently changed.You can unlock the OSD controls at any timeby pushing the MENU button for severalseconds: the message“OSD UNLOCKED” will appear.

Display image is incorrect

• Press the AUTO/SET button to automaticallyadjust your display image to the ideal setting.If the results are unsatisfactory, adjust the imageposition using the H position and V position iconin the on screen display.

• Press the AUTO/SET button to automaticallyadjust your display image to the ideal setting.If the results are unsatisfactory, decrease thevertical bars or stripes using the CLOCK icon in

the on screen display.

• Press the AUTO/SET button to automaticallyadjust your display image to the ideal setting.If the results are unsatisfactory, decrease thehorizontal bars using the PHASE icon in the onscreen display.

• Check Control Panel --> Display --> Settings

and adjust the display to the recommendedresolution or adjust the display image to the idealsetting. Set the color setting higher than 24 bits(true color).

ImportantCheck Control Panel --> Display --> Settings and see if the frequency or the

resolution were changed. If yes, readjust the video card to the recommendresolution.

If the recommended resolution (optimal resolution) is not selected, letters maybe blurred and the screen may be dimmed, truncated or biased. Make sure toselect the recommend resolution.

The setting method can differ by computer and O/S (Operation System),and resolution mentioned above may not be supported by the video cardperformance. In this case, please ask to the computer or the video card

manufacturer.

Do you see an"Unrecognized monitor,Plug&Play (VESA DDC)monitor found"message?

• Be sure to install the display driver from the display

driver CD (or diskette) that comes with your

display. Or, you can also download the driver from

our web site: http://www.lge.com.

• Make sure to check if the video card supportsPlug&Play function.

Display image is incorrect

The screen color ismono or abnormal.

The screen blinks.

• Check if the signal cable is properly connectedand use a screwdriver to fasten if necessary.

• Make sure the video card is properly inserted in

the slot.• Set the color setting higher than 24 bits (true color)

at Control Panel - Settings.

• Check if the screen is set to interlace mode and ifyes, change it to the recommend resolution.

The Audio function is not working

Picture OK & No sound.   • Check whether volume is "0".• Check sound muted.• HDMI cable installed properly.• Head phone cable installed properly.• Check sound format. Not supply to compressed

sound format.
