NORME DI SICUREZZA

Le Norme di Sicurezza, che vengono riportate nel presen-te libretto, vogliono essere un importante richiamo sullaresponsabilit che ricade sui possessori o utilizzatori di

armi da fuoco.Le armi da fuoco se maneggiate non correttamente, pos-sono essere pericolose, nonch potenziale causa di gravied irreparabili danni.

1) Non puntare mai larma contro qualcuno oppure in unadirezione che non sia pi che sicura (es. verso il basso).

2) Maneggiare le armi come se fossero sempre cariche.

3) Tenere le dita lontane dal grilletto sino a quando nonsia in mira il bersaglio.

4) Tenere sempre larma in sicura e le dita lontane dalgrilletto nelle fasi di caricamento o scaricamento del-larma.

5) Assicurarsi sempre prima di sparare al bersaglio chedietro o in vicinanza non ci siano persone, animali ocose che non si devono colpire.

6) Non dare mai, ne prendere mai da qualcuno unarmache non sia con lotturatore aperto.

7) In fatto di munizioni, attenersi scrupolosamente alleindicazioni riportate nel presente libretto ed assicurar-si che siano perfettamente efficienti.

8) Ad arma scarica, prima di usarla, avendo arretrato ebloccato lotturatore, controllare che la canna del Vo-stro fucile sia perfettamente libera da eventuali ostru-zioni.

9) Prima di sparare con unarma a voi sconosciuta, ac-certarsi di averne completamente afferrato il funzio-namento: la scarsa esperienza pu essere fonte di gra-vi incidenti.

10) Quando si spara, si consiglia usare protezioni alleorecchie ed agli occhi.

11) Tenere mani e dita sempre lontane dalla bocca del-larma per evitare ferite o scottature.

12) Armi da fuoco e munizioni devono essere riposte sem-pre separate chiuse a chiave e ben lontano dalla por-tata dei bambini.

13) Non fare uso di bevande alcooliche prima e duranteluso a fuoco dellarma.

Presentazione

La Benelli Armi S.p.A. lieta di presentarela nuova gamma di fucili semi-automatici,realizzati grazie allefficace lavoro delCentro Studi e Ricerche della Benelli Armi.

Si inoltre utilizzata la ricca esperienzache la Benelli Armi S.p.A. vanta sul pianotecnologico e delle costruzioni meccani-che di precisione.

Lesiguo numero di componenti, la mecca-nica estremamente semplice e razionale,loriginalit del nuovo sistema di chiusuraa testina rotante e del nuovo sistema di ali-mentazione cartucce (cut off), conferisco-no ai nuovi fucili Benelli la massima affi-dabilit di funzionamento, praticit di im-piego, semplicit di smontaggio e manu-tenzione, tanto che, in assoluto, possonoessere definiti i fucili pi moderni, precisi,sicuri, veloci ed eleganti attualmente incommercio.

Funzionamento

I nuovi fucili semi-automatici Benelli so-no basati sullo stesso principio di funziona-mento inerziale, a canna fissa, utilizzantelenergia cinetica di rinculo delIarma, che

ancora oggi rappresenta la novit tecnicapi rilevante e geniale delle nostre armi.

Come noto, questo sistema non necessitadi presa di gas n tantomeno del rinculodella canna ma, per il suo funzionamento,si avvale di una molla interposta libera-mente fra testa di chiusura ed otturatore.

Durante lo sparo, per reazione al rinculodel fucile, Iotturatore (inerte) compie unavanzamento proporzionato alla potenza

della cartuccia di circa 4 mm., compri-mendo la molla; questa, ultimato di com-primersi, si distende facendo arretrare tuttoil gruppo otturatore e permettendo coslestrazione del bossolo ed il ricaricamentodellarma che avvengono secondo il siste-ma tradizionale.

Il carico della molla opportunamente ta-rato sia per creare un ritardo allaperturasia per regolare, senza necessit di freno,le diverse pressioni prodotte da cartucce di

varia potenza.A questo principio di funzionamento sta-ta abbinata una testa di chiusura rotantedi forma semplice e robusta che con solidue denti di chiusura realizza una perfetta

chiusura assiale in culatta capace di sop-portare le pressioni in canna sviluppatedalla cartuccia.

La nuova gamma si avvale di un sistema dialimentazione appositamente studiato per:

- consentire il passaggio manuale dellecartucce in canna dal tubo serbatoio perun facile e rapido cambio della munizio-ne in canna;

- assicurare una alimentazione ancor piveloce e sicura nel riarmo automatico;

- verificare rapidamente se larma ha il ca-ne armato ed pronta per il tiro.

Il nuovo sistema di alimentazione si avvaleinfatti di una particolare Leva Discesa Car-

tuccia sporgente per un tratto dal piano in-feriore della carcassa in posizione facil-mente accessibile al dito che preme il gril-letto.

Al momento dello sparo la molla del canefa ruotare verticalmente la leva discesacartuccia, disimpegnandola dalla leva fer-mo cartuccia; questultima, per effetto del-la sua molla richiamo, ruota in senso ora-rio permettendo con ci luscita di una car-tuccia dal serbatoio.

Tale cartuccia nel posizionarsi sul cuc-chiaio elevatore preme contro la leva fer-mo cartuccia facendola ruotare in sensoinverso ed impedendo con ci luscita diuna seconda cartuccia.

Il cucchiaio elevatore, comandato dalIot-turatore, sale automaticamente e porta lacartuccia in posizione idonea alIincame-ramento.

Nel frattempo la molla del cane, gi ri-

compressa in posizione di armamento, halasciato libera la leva discesa cartuccia diriprendere la sua posizione di riposo: in talmodo la leva fermo cartuccia obbligata atrattenere definitivamente le cartucce an-cora in serbatoio fino a quando non verrsparato un nuovo colpo.

La leva discesa cartuccia, ha ben visibilesulla parte che sporge dal piano inferioredella carcassa un punto rosso. Quandoquesto visibile, Iarma ha il cane armato

ed pronta a far fuoco; in caso contrario,Iarma ha il cane disarmato.

I nuovi fucili, come tutti gli automatici Be-nelli, utilizzano lenergia di rinculo dellar-ma per ogni suo movimento automatico;vengono cos eliminati sia gli inconvenien-ti dei sistemi a canna rinculante (vibrazio-ne della canna durante lo sparo, necessitdi freno di regolazione per cartucce poten-ti, ecc.) sia gli inconvenienti del sistema a

sottrazione di gas, (necessit di pulizia del-la presa di gas, perdita di potenza nella ve-locit iniziale della carica di piombo e ri-percussione negativa sulla conformazionein profondit della rosata e possibili difettiin condizioni atmosferiche avverse), realiz-

zando unarma moderna e pienamente af-fidabile.

I nuovi semi-automatici Benelli, per laltogrado di perfezionamento raggiunto, sonoin grado di funzionare con una vastissima

gamma di cartucce; loriginalit del siste-ma di funzionamento inerziale richiedecomunque alla cartuccia un minimo dienergia cinetica necessaria per un comple-to automatismo di riarmo determinato dalrinculo dellarma stessa.Approfondite esperienze in laboratorio ba-listico, e ripetute prove pratiche di funzio-namento sui nostri prodotti di serie ci con-sentono oggi di fissare a 180 kgm. il valoreminimo di energia cinetica che deve esse-re sviluppata dalla cartuccia per cal. 12 e125 kgm. per il cal. 20 (valore misurato sucanna manometrica in base alla velocitV1 a mt. 10 dalla bocca) per il correttofunzionamento dellarma stessa.

Garanzia

Le norme di garanzia sono contenute nellospecifico certificato.

La Benelli Armi S.p.A. non si ritiene re-sponsabile di eventuali danni derivantidalluso di munizioni improprie, da negli-genze di manutenzione o da incidenti do-vuti ad imperizia nel maneggio delIarma.

Montaggio(da fucile imballato)

Nell'imballo il fucile diviso in tre parti(fig. 1):

- gruppo calcio-carcassa-fodero-otturato-re-astina

- gruppo canna-culatta- manetta darmamento.

Per eseguire un corretto montaggio delleparti procedere secondo il seguente ordine:

1) Prendere la manetta ed inserirla sul suoforo di sede sullotturatore premendolaa fondo (fig. 2).

2) Prendere con la mano sinistra il gruppocalcio-carcassa-fodero-otturatore e conla mano destra, agendo sulla manetta,portare lotturatore in posizione di aper-tura fino ad agganciamento avvenuto(fig. 3).Qualora lotturatore non rimanga ag-ganciato, agire sullapposita leva disce-sa cartuccia nel senso indicato dallafreccia (fig. 4) e ripetere loperazione.

3) Svitare il cappellotto fissaggio astina

(fig. 5) e sfilare lastina stessa facendolascorrere in avanti lungo il tubo serba-toio (fig. 6).

4) Tenendo il fucile con la mano sinistra inmaniera da mantenere fermo il fodero

sulla carcassa (fig. 7), prendere con lamano destra il gruppo canna-culatta, in-filare il prolungamento della culattaallinterno del fodero avendo cura chesul foro dellanello guida canna entri iltubo serbatoio (fig. 8) e spingere a fon-

do sulla canna fino alla posizione di fi-ne corsa (fig. 9) chiaramente avvertibilesia dalla mano che preme sia dal suonometallico che si produce al momentodell'arresto.

Importante: assicurarsi sempre che ilprolungamento della culatta non battacontro la testa di chiusura dellottura-tore ma si infili fra fodero e testa dichiusura stessa.

5) Montare lastina infilandola lungo il tu-bo serbatoio (fig. 6); avvitare il cappel-lotto fissaggio astina, completo di molla,sullestremit del tubo serbatoio stesso(fig 10) e serrare con una certa energiafino a bloccare perfettamente canna eastina contro la carcassa (fig. 11).

Importante: assicurarsi sempre che lamolla del cappellotto sia inserita sulcappellotto stesso (fig. 10) prima dibloccare canna ed astina contro la car-

cassa; la mancanza della molla non con-sente un regolare bloccaggio della can-na con conseguenti danni allarma.

6) Chiudere lotturatore premendo lappo-sito bottone comando elevatore (fig. 12).

Variazione piega(vedi tabella a pag. 6)

Il fucile predisposto con la piega origina-le di fabbrica richiesta per i vari mercati.Ove la stessa non garantisse un comodo

imbracciamento e puntamento dellarma esi rendesse pertanto necessaria una sua va-riazione, si pu utilizzare lapposito KIT DlVARIAZIONE PIEGA inserito nella confe-zione. Esso permette di realizzare altre duepieghe per ogni mercato. Il kit formato dalset piastrino (acciaio) serraggio calcio/ spes-sore (plastica) variazione piega (fig. 13).

Ciascun elemento marcato con la letteradi piega corrispondente.

Prima di effettuare qualunque tipo di in-tervento sul vostro fucile, accertatevisempre che camera di scoppio e serbatoiosiano completamente vuoti: leggere atten-tamente le istruzioni di caricamento e sca-ricamento alle pagine 7 e 8.

Si tratta ora di stabilire se la piega del calciosi adatta perfettamente alla vostra persona,o se il calcio sia troppo basso oppure trop-po alto.

Se troppo basso, dovete alzarlo, selezio-nando il kit di regolazione precedente inordine alfabetico (p.e. se lo spessore marcato C, passare a quello marcato Bed al corrispondente piastrino calcio).

Esaminiamo assieme il semplice procedi-mento di sostituzione (fig. 14).

1) Utilizzando un cacciavite a testa a cro-ce svitare le due viti di fissaggio A delcalciolo. Nel caso di calciolo in gom-

ma, per non danneggiarlo, spalmare lapunta del cacciavite con vaselina o congrasso.

2) Utilizzando una chiave a tubo esagona-le da 13 mm svitate il dado di bloccag-gio.

3) A questo punto possibile sfilare dal tu-bo guida molla biella il calcio con il da-do di bloccaggio B, la rondella elasticaC, il piastrino calcio D (con lettera spe-

cifica di valore piega stampigliata) e lospessore piega E.

4) Ora possibile montare un nuovo kitpiega. Osservare come tutti i piastrinicalcio presentino una sporgenza pimarcata da un lato: rimontarli corretta-mente nel calcio per farli alloggiare nel-lapposita forma ricavata nel legno.

5) Montare prima sul tubo guida mollabiella lo spessore piega selezionato,con la lettera stampigliata rivolta versoil calcio ed il pernetto rivolto verso lacarcassa (il pernetto alloggiato in unforo sul retro della carcassa).Posizionando la canna del fucile verso

il pavimento, montate poi il calcio inmodo da mantenerlo in posizione men-tre infilate il piastrino corrispondente Dsul calcio stesso (accertarsi che il pia-strino D alloggi perfettamente nella suasede nel legno). Montare poi la rondella

elastica C ed il dado B sul tubo guidamolla biella e serrare a fondo.Rimontare il calciolo, dopo averne cu-rato il perfetto allineamento al calcio.Variando la piega del vostro fucile, neavete ovviamente alterato la posizionedi sparo: dopo aver variato la piega opportuno effettuare una serie di tiri perassicurarsi che la nuova conformazionesi adatti perfettamente alla vostra corpo-ratura ed al vostro stile.

Caricamento

Il serbatoio di alimentazione predisposto,a seconda della versione e delle norme vi-genti, per contenere 1, 2, 3 o 4 cartucceda 70 mm; compresa la cartuccia in can-

na, la capacit di fuoco del fucile di 2, 3,4 o 5 colpi.

Per caricare larma si procede nel seguentemodo:

- Mettere larma in sicura spingendo ilbottoncino di sicura a traversino sullaguardia in modo che il suo anello rosso,indicante la posizione di sparo, non siveda; per maggior sicurezza, verificareche larma sia scarica aprendo a manolotturatore tramite la manetta di arma-mento riportandolo poi in posizione dichiusura.

- Assicurarsi che l'arma sia scarica apren-do a mano l'otturatore tramite la manet-ta di armamento (fig. 15) e riportandolopoi in posizione di chiusura tramite lap-posito bottone comando elevatore (fig.12); con questi movimenti si provvedeanche ad armare il cane, operazione in-

dispensabile per il caricamento.- Ad otturatore chiuso e cane armato, ro-

vesciare larma orientando la canna ver-so il basso. Infilare una cartuccia nel ser-batoio spingendola a fondo con il polli-

ce sino a quando non rimanga trattenutadalla leva arresto cartuccia, che la ag-gancia automaticamente (figg. 16 e 17).Ripetere loperazione sino al completocaricamento del serbatoio.

Attenzione: Il caricamento del serbatoiodeve essere effettuato con il cane armatoper consentire alla leva fermo cartuccia dibloccare le cartucce che si introducononel serbatoio stesso.La leva discesa cartuccia dovr avere ilpunto rosso (avviso cane armato) ben visi-bile: ove fosse necessario portarla in taleposizione, e agire sul bottone comandoelevatore.

A questo punto il fucile non pu sparare se

non introducendo una cartuccia in canna.Portato lotturatore in apertura e trattenen-dolo in tale posizione tramite la manetta,introdurre una cartuccia in canna attraver-so l'apposita finestra di espulsione (fig. 18).

Lasciando libera la manetta, lotturatorescorrer in avanti incamerando la cartucciaed arrestandosi in posizione di chiusura.

Durante queste operazioni necessarioche la canna dellarma sia orientata in di-

rezione di sicura prudenza e sia inserita lasicura manuale.

Il fucile carico: portando la sicura in po-sizione di fuoco (anello rosso visibile), lar-ma pronta per sparare.

Nota bene

Allinizio delluso (fucile nuovo), pu ren-dersi necessario un breve periodo di ro-daggio prima che il vostro fucile funzioniperfettamente anche con cariche leggere.Se, utilizzando cartucce leggere, riscontra-te dei problemi di funzionamento, oppor-tuno sparare tre o quattro scatole di cartuc-ce a carica standard a titolo di rodaggio.

Sostituzione della cartuccia

va cartucciaVolendo sostituire la cartuccia in ca-mera di scoppio con altra diversa, ap-poggiare il calcio sullanca ed apriremanualmente lotturatore tirando lamanetta (fig. 19).

La cartuccia in camera viene cos e-stratta ed espulsa dallarma (fig. 19).

Introdurre, anche parzialmente in can-na, la nuova cartuccia attraverso lap-posita finestra di espulsione (fig. 18),prima di lasciare libera la manetta perrichiudere lotturatore.

Volendo sostituire la cartuccia in ca-mera di scoppio con una cartucciadel serbatoio, appoggiare il calcio sul-lanca ed aprire manualmente lottu-ratore tirando la manetta (fig. 15): lacartuccia in camera viene cos estrat-ta ed espulsa dallarma.Premere la leva discesa cartuccia (ve-di fig. 4) in maniera che la prima car-tuccia del serbatoio scenda sul cuc-chiaio elevatore; quindi lasciar liberala manetta in maniera che l'otturato-re, scorrendo in avanti, incameri lacartuccia scesa dal serbatoio arrestan-dosi in posizione di chiusura (fig. 12).

Durante queste operazioni necessarioche la canna dellarma sia orientata in di-rezione di sicura prudenza e sia inserita lasicura manuale.

Per scaricare larma

Per scaricare il fucile agire nel seguentemodo:

1) Inserire la sicura dell'arma ed aprire ma-nualmente l'otturatore tirando la manettadi armamento (fig. 15). La cartuccia chesi trova in camera di scoppio viene cosestratta ed espulsa dall'arma.

2) Lasciare la manetta accompagnandolacon la mano e riportare lotturatore inchiusura (fig. 12).

3) Capovolgere larma e, spingendo lele-vatore verso linterno, premere la levafermo cartuccia dalla parte anteriore

con lindice della mano destra (fig. 20).4) Le cartucce del serbatoio, una ad una,

uscendo, cadranno nella mano (fig. 21);occorre premere la leva fermo cartucciaad ogni cartuccia che si vuol toglieredal serbatoio.

Nota bene

Larma pu essere anche scaricata ripeten-do pi volte loperazione indicata al com-ma B del paragrafo precedente.Durante queste operazioni necessarioche la canna dellarma sia orientata in di-rezione di sicura prudenza e sia inserita lasicura manuale.

Smontaggio dellarma permanutenzione e pulizia

Prima di effettuare qualunque tipo di in-tervento sul vostro fucile, accertatevisempre che camera di scoppio e serbatoiosiano completamente vuoti: leggere atten-tamente le istruzioni di caricamento e sca-

ricamento alle pagine 7 e 8.

Seguire il seguente ordine:

1) Portare l'otturatore in posizione diapertura tirando la manetta (fig. 15);qualora lotturatore non rimanga aper-

to, premere la leva discesa cartuccianel senso indicato dalla freccia (fig. 4)e ripetere l'operazione.

2) Svitare completamente il cappellottofissaggio astina (fig. 10) e sfilare lasti-na stessa facendola scorrere in avantilungo il tubo serbatoio.

3) Appoggiando il calcio sull'anca, pren-dere il fucile con la mano sinistra inmaniera da mantenere fermo il foderosulla carcassa (fig. 22) e, con la destra,tirando in avanti, sfilare il gruppo can-na-culatta dalla carcassa (fig. 23).

4) Togliere la manetta di armamento conuno strappo deciso (fig. 24).

5) Separare il fodero dalla carcassa sfi-landolo in avanti dal gruppo otturatore(fig. 25).

6) Trattenendo con la mano sinistra ilgruppo otturatore (fig. 26) in manierada contrastare la spinta della molladella biella, premere lapposito botto-ne comando elevatore (fig. 12) ed ac-compagnare lotturatore in avanti finoa quando non pi spinto dalla mollabiella (fig. 27).

7) Estrarre il gruppo otturatore dalla car-cassa facendolo scorrere in avanti sul-le sue guide di alloggio (fig. 28).

8) Sfilare il perno arresto percussore dalgruppo otturatore, avendo cura di trat-tenere il percussore e la sua molla dirichiamo (fig. 29).

9) Estrarre dallotturatore il percussorecon la sua molla richiamo (fig. 30).

10) Togliere il perno rotazione testa di chiu-sura dallotturatore (fig. 31).

11) Sfilare la testa di chiusura dallottura-tore (fig. 32).

12) Togliere la molla di rinculo otturatoredalla sua sede (fig. 33).

13) Sfilare dal gruppo calcio-carcassa laspina arresto guardia spingendola dadestra o da sinistra con la punta delpercussore stesso o con un punteruoloqualunque (fig. 34).

14) Premere con la mano sinistra il botto-ne comando elevatore e con la manodestra sfilare il gruppo guardia (fig.35).

Il fucile completamente smontato; le partiche possono interessare per una accurataverifica e pulizia sono tutte separate (fig. 36).

Montaggio dellarmadopo la pulizia

Per un corretto montaggio del fucile dopola normale manutenzione e pulizia, proce-dere nel seguente ordine:

1) Prendere il gruppo calcio-carcassa conla mano sinistra e, premendo con ilpollice della stessa mano il bottonecomando elevatore, inserire con lamano destra il gruppo guardia com-pleto, a cane armato, sulla carcassa ri-portandolo a battuta sulla parte ante-riore (fig. 37).

2) Posizionare la bussola perno fissaggioguardia in maniera che entri sulla car-

cassa (fig. 38) e completare il montag-gio del gruppo guardia stesso inseren-dolo completamente sulla carcassa(fig. 39).

3) Infilare da destra o da sinistra la spinaarresto guardia fermandola quando sitrova completamente inserita sulla car-cassa (fig. 40).

4) Prendere lotturatore ed infilare sulsuo foro di sede la molla rinculo ottu-

ratore (fig. 41).5) Prendere la testa di chiusura ed infilar-

la nellotturatore avendo cura che ilforo sul suo gambo collimi con lasoladellotturatore stesso (fig. 42).

Importante: i piani inclinati ricavatisul gambo della testa di chiusura nondebbono essere visibili a pezzo mon-tato.

6) Infilare il perno rotazione testa di chiu-sura nel foro di sede ricavato sul gam-

bo della testa di chiusura facendolopassare attraverso lasola dellotturato-re (fig. 43); prestare attenzione affin-ch la linea di riferimento marcata sul-la parte superiore del pezzo sia in vi-sta e risulti allineata con lasse longitu-dinale del gruppo otturatore (fig. 43).

7) Inserire il percussore con la sua mollanel foro di sede nellotturatore (fig. 44).Importante: assicurarsi di montaresempre la molla del percussore.

8) Inserire il perno arresto percussore nelsuo foro di sede in maniera che fermiil percussore (fig. 45).Importante: il percussore ed il suoperno di arresto sono montati corret-tamente se, eseguite le operazioni dimontaggio, il percussore visibile co-me in fig. 46.Non utilizzare alcun attrezzo per ilmontaggio del percussore nel corpo

otturatore: usare solo le dita!9) Prendere con la mano destra il gruppo

calcio-carcassa e, tenendo in posizio-ne quasi verticale, inserire il gruppootturatore sulle guide della carcassa

(fig. 47) avendo cura che la biella,passando sopra il gruppo guardia, siposizioni sul perno guida molla biella,allinterno della carcassa a montaggiocompletato (fig. 48).

10) Portare l'otturatore in posizione di

apertura tirando dal piano frontaledella testa di chiusura (fig. 49); qualo-ra lotturatore non rimanga aperto,premere la leva discesa cartuccia nelsenso indicato dalla freccia (fig. 4) eripetere loperazione.

11) Prendere il fodero ed accostarlo allacarcassa in posizione leggermenteavanzata rispetto allotturatore (fig. 50).

12) Mantenendo il fodero aderente alla

carcassa arretrarlo infilandolo sullot-turatore fino a completo montaggio in-posizione di battuta posteriore sullacarcassa (fig. 51).

13) Inserire la manetta sul foro di sede del-lotturatore premendo a fondo (fig. 52).

14) Completare il montaggio dellarma ri-petendo, escluse le prime tre, tutte leoperazioni di assemblaggio da fucileimballato descritte a pag. 4.

Nota importanteAssicurarsi sempre di collocare la molla dirinculo dellotturatore tra testa di chiusu-ra ed otturatore stesso per evitare che nel-la fase di chiusura possa partire il colpo.

Manutenzione

Prima di effettuare qualunque tipo di in-tervento sul vostro fucile, accertatevisempre che camera di scoppio e serbatoiosiano completamente vuoti: leggere atten-

tamente le istruzioni di caricamento e sca-ricamento alle pagine 7 e 8.

Per la sua estrema semplicit e per la scel-ta accurata dei materiali, Iautomatico Be-nelli non necessita di particolari norme dimanutenzione.

I pochi controlli necessari sono:

- Normale pulizia della canna dopo luso.- Il gruppo di sparo, composto da cane,

grilletto, ecc., pu rimanere intasato da

residui di polvere o materiali estraneiche occorre eliminare con una periodicapulizia e lubrificazione.

- Il gruppo otturatore pu essere anches-so soggetto ai residui suddetti, quindianche questo gruppo deve essere ognitanto smontato, pulito e lubrificato.Per la buona conservazione dellarma siconsiglia di tenere lubrificate le partisoggette agli agenti atmosferici. Tutte lecanne sono cromate internamente.

Si consiglia l'uso esclusivo di olio e delset di pulizia Benelli Armi (figg. 53-54)(non in dotazione con il fucile).

Inconvenienti e loro eliminazione

Consigli per un corretto usodelIautomatico Benelli

Se il fucile non spara:

a) Controllare la sicura: se ancora inne-stata spingere il pulsante a traversinonella posizione di fuoco.

b) Se la cartuccia non in canna: intro-durre una cartuccia in canna seguendole istruzioni relative al caricamento del-l'arma.

c) Controllare il meccanismo di sparo edeventualmente procedere alla sua puli-zia e lubrificazione.

Cappellotto fissaggio astina

Assicurarsi al momento del montaggioche il cappellotto fissaggio astina siacompleto di molla, specie dopo i primicolpi, che sia ben avvitato in manierache mantenga la canna decisamentebloccata alla carcassa.

Munizionamento

Il fucile Benelli utilizza per il suo funzio-

namento lenergia cinetica del rinculodellarma.

Importante: utiIizzare sempre cartucceche garantiscano un rinculo sufficiente perun completo automatismo di riarmo.

I

Canna con strozzatori interni

Le canne con strozzatori interni hanno indotazione vari tipi di strozzatori.

Prima di effettuare qualunque tipo di in-tervento sul vostro fucile, accertatevi

sempre che camera di scoppio e serbatoiosiano completamente vuoti! (Leggere at-tentamente le istruzioni di caricamento escaricamento dellarma alle pagine 7 e 8).

Per cambiare o pulire lo strozzatore inter-no agire nel seguente modo:

1) svitare lo strozzatore interno utilizzan-do la speciale chiave dentata in dota-zione allarma e sfilarlo completamentedalla sede della canna (fig. 55);

2) qualora la sede filettata dello strozzato-re sulla canna sia molto sporca, pulirlaavvitandovi la parte filettata della chia-ve per strozzatori (fig. 56);

Attenzione: prima di riutilizzare larmaassicurarsi di aver tolto la chiave perstrozzatore dalla volata della canna.

3) Rimontare sulla sede canna il tipo distrozzatore desiderato, avendo cura di

inserire la parte non filettata dellostrozzatore allinterno della canna pri-ma di avvitarlo sul filetto della cannastessa (fig. 57).

Attenzione: lo strozzatore correttamentemontato non deve sporgere dalla volatadella canna.

4) Completare il montaggio dello strozza-tore avvitandolo con forza tramite lap-

posita chiave dentata (fig. 58).Attenzione: prima di riutilizzare larmaassicurarsi di aver tolto la chiave perstrozzatore dalla volata della canna.

Prima di lasciare larma inutilizzata per unlungo periodo, consigliabile la puliziadello strozzatore interno e della sua sedesulla volata della canna.

Munizioni da usare

Nellautomatico Benelli si possono usareindistintamente cartucce con bossolo da 65mm. (2 1/2) o 70 mm. (2 3/4) con carichemassime di piombo di 42 grammi (Demi-

Magnum) per cal. 12 e 32 grammi (Demi-Magnum) per cal. 20. Per i modelli concanna Magnum, oltre ai tipi di munizionisopra visti, si possono utilizzare anche car-tucce con bossoli da 76 mm. (3) e carichemassime di piombo di 56 grammi per cal.12 e 36 grammi per cal. 20.

Attenzione

Non usare mai cartucce la cui lunghezzadel bossolo superi quella della camera di

scoppio onde evitare gravi conseguenzesia per il tiratore che per larma.

Per qualsiasi tipo di munizione non sononecessarie regolazioni dellarma.

Utilizzare sempre cartucce che garanti-scono un rinculo sufficiente al completoriarmo del fucile.

Tutti i fucili Benelli sono sottoposti allaprova forzata di 1370 bar presso il BancoNazionale di Prova di Gardone Valtrom-

pia (Brescia).

SAFETY RULES

Please read this before handling your firearm.

Introduction

Benelli Armi S.p.A. is proud to introducethe new line of semi-automatic shotguns, aresult of painstaking work at BenellisResearch and Development Center and of

Benellis extensive experience in precisionengineering and technical know-how.

The small number of components, an ex-tremely simple operating principe, the in-novativeness of the turning block boltlocking system and the new cartridge feed-ing system (cut off), make the new Benel-li shotguns highly reliable and practical,easy to strip and upkeep to the extent thatthe shotguns can be considered the mostmodern, accurate, safe, fast and elegant

shotguns available today.

Operation

The new Benelli semi-automatic shot-guns operate on the same basic principleof inertial operation, with fixed barrel, uti-lizing the kinetic energy of gun recoil, to-

day still the most important, ingenious fea-ture of our guns.

As you know, this system requires no outletfor gas or barrel recoil, but operates bymeans of a spring freely interposed betweenbolt head and bolt.

During firing, due to the recoil of the gun,breech block inertia makes it move about4 mm forward in relation to the power ofthe cartridge, compressing the spring.

When this is fully compressed, it overco-mes breech block inertia, thrusting it to therear under residual pressure, permittingcartridge case extraction and reloadingwith the conventional system. Spring pres-sure is designed to delay the opening ofthe action, which occurs after the shot hasleft the barrel, and regulate the differentpressures produced by cartridges of vary-ing power, with no need for braking. Wehave added to this system a revolving bolthead of shape, simple and robust, whichwith only 2 locking teeth, closes the breechaxially and perfectly, withstanding anypressure of the cartridge.

The new line of shotguns features a load-ing system designed to:

- make it possible to shift cartridge manual-ly from the magazine tube to the barrelfor quick and easy ammunition changes;

- ensure even faster and safer automatic,re-loading;

- permit rapid checking of whether thehammer is cocked and ready to shoot.

The new loading system features a specialcartridge drop lever, the outer portion ofwhich protrudes below the receiver and isthus easily reached by the trigger finger.

Upon shooting, the hammer spring forcesthe cartridge drop lever upwards to disenga-ge it from the carrier latch which, pulled bythe carrier latch spring, rotates clockwise toallow a cartridge to exit from the magazine.

As the cartridge falls into position on thecarrier, it presses against the carrier latch,which rotates in the opposite direction toprevent a second cartridge from exiting.

When the bolt is operated the carrier risesautomatically to position the cartridge forintroduction in the chamber.

In the meantime, the hammer spring, whichwas compressed during cocking, has freedthe cartridge drop lever to return to its restposition. In this way, the carrier latch is o-bliged to hold the remaining cartridges inthe magazine until the next shot is fired.

The end of the cartridge drop lever whichprotrudes from the receiver is marked witha red point. When the red point is visible,the hammer is cocked and the gun is readyto fire; otherwise the hammer is not cocked.

Like all Benelli automatic shotguns, thefully automatic operation of the new shot-guns depends on its recoil. This eliminatesthe drawbacks of the systems with barrelrecoil (barrel vibration during firing, needto brake the system and regulate it whenfiring powerful ammunition etc.) and thoseof the gas operated type (need to clean gasoutlets, loss of power due to accelerationof the shot charge and adverse effect onthe longitudinal conformation of the wad

and possible malfunctions under adverseclimatic conditions), producing a modern,highly reliable gun.

The new semi-automatic shotguns workwith a vast range of shells. The inertia sys-tem requires, in any case, shells that gene-rate enough kinetic energy (recoil) to fullycycle the action.Extensive testing in ballistics labs and re-peated field testing of our line-producedweapons put at 180 kgm the lowest level

of kinetic energy that must be generated bythe cartridge for 12 gauge and 125 kgm for20 gauge in order to fully cycle the action(the measurement was taken on a mano-metric barrel).

Guarantee

The guarantee conditions are described inthe guarantee certificate.

Benelli Armi S.p.A. is not responsible forany damage resulting from the use of im-

proper ammunition, poor maintenance oraccidents caused by lack or experience inweapons handling.

Assembly(from packaged gun)

The shotgun is packed for shipping in threeparts (fig. 1):

- stock-receiver-cover-bolt-fore end unit- barrel-breechunit- bolt lever.

The following procedure should be adher-ed to in order to ensure proper assembly ofthe shotgun.

1) Insert the bolt lever in its seat on thebolt, pushing it all the way in (fig. 2).

2) Take the stock-receiver-cover-bolt unitwith the left hand, and, with the righthand, using the cocking lever, bring thebolt into open position until coupled(fig. 3).Should the bolt fail to engage, move the

cartridge drop lever as arrowed (fig. 4)and repeat the operation.

3) Unscrew the fore-end cap (fig. 5) andpull the fore-end forward along the tu-bular magazine (fig. 6).

4) While holding the shotgun with yourleft hand so that the cover cannot moverelative to the receiver (fig. 7), with yourright hand slide the breech extension ofthe breech-barrel assembly into the co-

ver making sure that the barrel ring sli-des over the tubular magazine (fig. 8).Push the barrel-breech assembly all theway in (fig. 9) until it clicks into placeand is firmly seated.

Note: make sure that the breech exten-sion does not collide against the lockinghead but rather that it fits between thecover and the locking head.

5) Slide the fore-end down along the tubu-

lar magazine (fig. 6). Firmly fasten the fo-re-end fastening cap, together with thespring, at the end of the tubular magazi-ne (fig. 10) and tighten firmly until thebarrel and fore grip are locked perfectly

against the receiver (fig. 11).

Note: always make sure that the capsspring is inserted in the cap itself (fig.10) before locking the barrel and fore-grip against the receiver. A missingspring will not allow proper locking ofthe barrel, which will result in seriousdamage to the shotgun.

6) Close the bolt by pushing the specialcarrier release (fig. 12).

Drop change instructions(see table page 22)

The shotgun comes with the original dropgiven at the factory for the various markets.If the desired level of comfort for handling

and aiming is not obtained and the droprequires adjustment, use the special kitprovided. The kit, which permits two addi-tional drops to suit all markets, consists ofmetal stock locking plate set plus plasticdrop change shim (see fig. 13).

Each unit is marked with the correspondingletter.

Before attempting any work on your Be-nelli make sure that the chamber and the

magazine of your shotgun are unloaded.See the instructions on loading and unload-ing on pages 23-24.

The next step is to determine if your stockis too high or too low for you.

If it is too low, then you need to raise thestock and should select the next alphabeti-cal adjustment. (For example if the shimsays D move to a C shim and cor-

responding adjustment plate. If this drop isstill too low then select the B adjustmentplate, and shim required for this setting).

The contents of your shotgun box shouldcontain: a B and C metal stock plate

and plastic adjustment shim. Installed inthe shotgun is a D metal stock plate anda plastic adjustment shim for U.S.A.

For other markets it is installed a B adjust-ment, while A and C kits are containedin the box.

Step by step (fig. 14)

1) Utilizing a Phillips screwdriver, removethe two screws from the recoil pad ofthe Benelli shotgun. To avoid tearingthe rubber recoil pad, apply a light coatof petroleum jelly or grease to the shaftof the screwdriver.

2) Using a 13 mm deep well socket andalong with a rachet and extension, re-move the stock retaining nut by turningthe rachet counter clockwise.

3) The stock along with the retaining nut,the lock washer, the retaining plate(with proper drop letter stamped on it),and the stock spacer will now all slideoff the recoil spring tube.

4) Now you are ready to reinstall a new

drop kit. Note that all the retaining pla-tes have a larger wing on one side thanthe other and must be properly reinsert-ed into the stock to fit into the woodenmold provided for them.

5) Place your selected stock shim on therecoil spring tube first, with the stampedletter facing toward the stock and thesmall stud facing the receiver. (This studcorresponds with a small hole in the re-ceiver back) then follow with the stock.

Turn the shotgun barrel toward the floorso that the stock will stay in place whileyou drop the correspondingly letteredretaining plate into the stock. (Makingsure the plate fits exactly into its woo-den receptor). Then place the lockwasher and nut on the recoil spring tu-be and re-tighten it.The recoil pad may now be aligned andscrewed back into place to completethe drop change.

Remember that when you alter thestock drop of a shotgun you are actuallyaltering the impact point of the gun aswell. After changing the drop make surethat you shoot some clay targets to assu-re yourself that youre impact point iscorrect for your dimensions and style ofshooting.

Loading

The Benelli magazine holds one, two, threeor four cartridges, according to the modeland to standards. Total firing capacity istwo, three, four or five rounds, including

the one in the chamber.To load the shotgun:

- Apply the safety catch by pressing thesafety button on the trigger guard untilits red ring, indicating firing position, isno longer visible; for greater safety, openthe bolt by means of the cocking lever tocheck that the gun is not loaded. Thenre-close the bolt.

- Make sure that the weapon is not loaded

by opening the bolt with the bolt lever(fig. 15) and closing it again by pushingthe carrier release (fig. 12). These move-ments also cock the hammer, a neces-sary step in loading the shotgung.

- With the bolt closed and the hammercocked, reverse the gun pointing thebarrel downwards. Insert a cartridge inthe magazine and push it in with thethumb until it is retained by the carrierlatch, which engages automatically (fi-

gures 16 and 17). Repeat the operationuntil the magazine is fully loaded.

The gun must be loaded with the hammer

cocked so that the carrier latch can retainthe cartridges as they are inserted in themagazine.The red dot on the cartridge drop lever,which indicates that the hammer is cock-ed, must be in view. To bring lever to this

position, press the carrier latch button.At this point the gun cannot be fired unlessa cartridge is placed in the chamber.

Open the bolt and hold it in this positionthrough the cocking lever. Place a cartridgein the barrel through the ejection port(fig. 18).

Release the cocking lever: the bolt will pushthe cartridge into the chamber and stop inthe closed position.

Warning: always point the gun in a safedirection during these operations, eventhough the safety catch is engaged.

The gun is now loaded; when the safetycatch is moved to the forward position (redring in view), it is ready for use.

Note:Due to precision machined tolerances onyour shotgun some wear-in period may be

required before your new gun will functionreliably with light target loads. If you ex-perience any initial functioning problemswith one ounce loads, we recommend fir-ing three or four boxes of standard hunting

loads to allow for this break-in period.

To replace the cartridgein the chamber

A) - Manual replacement

If you wish to replace the cartridge inthe chamber, rest the stock on yourthigh and pull the cocking lever toopen the bolt (fig. 19).The cartridge in the chamber is ex-tracted and ejected from the gun (fig.19). Insert a new cartridge even par-

tially in the barrel through the specialejection window (fig. 18) and releasethe cocking lever to reclose the bolt.

B) - Using the cartridge drop leverTo replace the cartridge in the cham-ber, rest the stock on your thigh andpull the cocking lever to open thebolt (fig. 15). The cartridge in thechamber is extracted and ejectedfrom the gun. Press the cartridge droplever (see figure 4) so that the first

chamber in the magazine will be de-posited onto the carrier; then ease thebolt lever back forward, allowing thebolt to close again and fully chamberthe cartrdige (fig. 12).

Unloading

To unload the shotgun:

1) Engage the safety catch and pull thecocking lever to open the bolt (fig. 15).The cartridge in the chamber is extrac-ted and ejected.

2) Gently release the cocking lever to clo-se the breech block (fig. 12).

3) Reverse the gun, and, thrusting the car-rier down, press the cartridge retaininglever from the front with the right handindex finger (fig. 20).

4) The cartridges will be released one byone into your hand (fig. 21); the carrierlatch must be pressed for each releasedcartridge.

ImportantGun can be unloaded by repeated oper-ations as described at point B, previous pa-ragraph.

Stripping the gun for cleaningand maintenance

Before attempting any work on your Be-nelli make sure that the chamber and themagazine of your shotgun are unloaded.

See the instructions on loading and unload-ing on pages 23-24.

Proceed as follows:

1) Open the bolt by pulling back the boltlever (fig. 15) until the bolt is lockedopen.If the bolt doesnt lock open, push thecartridge drop lever in the directionshown by the arrow (fig. 4) and repeat

the previous step.2) Unscrew the fore-end cap (fig. 10) andpull the fore-end forward along the tu-bular magazine.

3) While resting the shotgun against yourhip and holding it with your left handso that the cover cannot move relativeto the receiver (fig. 22), with your righthand pull the breech-barrel assemblyoff the receiver (fig. 23).

4) Tear off the arming bolt (fig. 24).5) Separate the cover from the receiver,pulling it forward from the bolt assem-bly (fig. 25).

6) While holding the bolt assembly with

your left hand (fig. 26) so as to counter-balance the thrust of the recoil spring,push the carrier release button (fig. 12)and ease the bolt forward until the re-coil spring no longer pushes it forward(fig. 27).

7) Pull the bolt assembly out of the recei-ver, sliding it along its guides (fig. 28).

8) Remove the firing pin retaining pinfrom the bolt assembly, while holdingthe firing pin and firing pin spring inplace (fig. 29).

9) Remove the firing pin and firing pinspring from the bolt (fig. 30).

10) Remove the locking head pin from thebolt (fig. 31).

11) Remove the bolt locking head fromthe bolt (fig. 32).

12) Remove the inertia spring from its seatin the bolt (fig. 33).

13) Extract the trigger group stop plugfrom the stock-receiver unit, thrustingit from right or left with the point ofthe same firing pin or punch (fig. 34).

14) Press the carrier release with the left-hand and pull the trigger guard assem-

bly out of the receiver with the righthand (fig. 35).

The shotgun is now completely stripped. Allthe parts that require routine maintenanceand cleaning are disassembled (fig. 36).

Shotgun assembly after cleaning

Following routine maintenance and/or clean-ing, the shotgun should be reassembled asfollows:

1) Hold the stock-receiver assembly withyour left hand and, keeping the carrierrelease pressed with the left-handthumb, insert the complete triggerguard assembly- with the hammercocked - inside the receiver with theright hand, positioning it so that itsfront is in contact with the receiver(fig. 37).

2) Push the trigger guard pin bush intothe receiver (fig. 38) and insert the

trigger guard assembly completely inthe receiver (fig. 39).

3) Push the trigger guard pin bush intothe receiver from the right or left, untilit is completely inside (fig. 40).

4) Place the bolt recoil spring in its seaton the bolt (fig. 41).

5) Slide the locking head into the bolt,making sure that the hole on its stemcoincides with the slot on the bolt (fig.

42).Note: the slanted surfaces on thelocking heads stem should not be vi-sible once the bolt locking head ismounted.

6) Insert the locking head pin in its holeon the locking heads stem, throughthe slot on the bolt (fig. 43).Make sure that the reference line ontop of the pin is visible and alignedwith the bolts centerline (fig. 43).

7) Insert the firing pin and the firing pinspring inside the bolt (fig. 44).

Note: always make sure that the firingpin has been inserted together withits spring.

8) Insert the firing pin retaining pin in itsseat, so as to block the firing pin (fig.45).

Note: the firing pin and its retainingpin are properly mounted only if thefiring pin is visible, as shown in fig. 46.

WARNING: improper assembly of thebolt group can cause accidental dis-charge resulting serious injury ordeath. Ensure that the assembly of thebolt group is completed in the speci-fied order and that the rear of firingpin is visible at the back of the bolt.If the rear of the firing pin is not visi-

ble, reassemble the bolt group accord-ing the procedure shown in the ma-nual, taking special care that the rearof the firing pin is clearly visible atthe rear of the bolt carrier. Do not

use tools to insert the firing pin intothe bolt carrier; use fingers only.

9) Hold the stock-receiver assembly al-most vertical with your right hand andinsert the bolt assembly in its guide onthe receiver (fig. 47), making sure thatthe link slides over the trigger guardassembly and onto the recoil springplunger inside the receiver once thebolt assembly is fully mounted (fig.48).

10) Open the bolt by pulling back fromthe locking head face (fig. 49) until thebolt is locked open.If the bolt doesnt lock open, push thecartridge drop lever in the direction

shown by the arrow (fig. 4) and repeatthe previous step.

11) Bring the cover nexy to the receiver,slightly ahead of the bolt (fig. 50).

12) Slide the cover backward over thebolt, keeping it pressed close to the re-ceiver, until it comes to a resting posi-tion against the receiver (fig. 51).

13) Push the bolt lever into its hole on the

bolt until it fits snugly (fig. 52).14) Finish assembling the shotgun by fol-

lowing all the steps (except the firstthree) outlined under the sectionAssembly of Packaged Gun page 20.

Important notice

Always make sure that the inertia spring(or bolt recoil spring) is positionedbetween the locking head and the bolt it-self, in order to avoid discharging theweapon when the bolt is closed.

Maintenance

Thanks to its extreme simplicity and excel-lent materials, the Benelli Automatic Shot-gun requires no special maintenance.

The following few controls are necessary:

- Normal cleaning of the barrel after use.- The firing mechanism, consisting of the

hammer, trigger etc., may become clogg-ed with dust or foreign matter. Removethis by periodical cleaning or lubrication.

- The bolt assembly may also becomeclogged with the same material and mustbe periodically dismantled, cleaned andlubricated.To keep the gun in good order, we re-

commend you to keep the parts subjectto atmospheric corrosion lubricated.All barrels are internally chromium plated.Use only the Benelli Armi cleaning setand oil (figs. 53-54) (not equipped withshotgun).

Trouble shooting

Advice on how to best use yourBenelli semi-automatic shotgun

The gun fails to fire:

a) Check the safety catch; if it is engaged,

shift the button to the FIRE position.b) Check that there is a cartridge in thechamber; if not, follow the loading in-structions described above.

c) Check the firing mechanism and, if ne-cessary, clean and lubricate it.

Fore-end cap

Following assembly, and especially afterfiring a few rounds, check that the fore-end cap is tightened firmly and keeps

the barrel securely fastened to the recei-ver.

Ammunition

The Benelli semi-automatic shotgun uses

the kinetic energy generated by the re-coil to work the action.Note: always use ammunition that ispowerful enough to fully cycle the ac-tion.

Barrel with internal choke tubes

The barrels with internal chokes are equip-ped with various types of choke tubes.

Before attempting any work on your shot-gun, make sure that the chamber and themagazine of your shotgun are unloaded!(Carefully read the instructions on gun load-ing and unloading on pages 23-24).

To change or clean the internal choke, pro-ceed as follows:

1) unscrew the internal choke using thespecial choke wrench supplied with theshotgun and extract it completely fromthe barrel seat (fig. 55);

2) if the threaded seat of the choke on thebarrel is too dirty, clean it by spinning

round the threaded part of the properwrench (fig. 56);

Warning: before to use the shotgun again,take care that the choke wrench has beenremoved from the barrel muzzle.

3) Reassemble on the barrel seat the type ofchoke tube desired, having care to insertthe non-threaded part inside the barrelbefore tighten the choke tube on thethread of the barrel itself (fig. 57).

Warning: the choke tube correctly assem-

bled must not stretch out from the barrelmuzzle.

4) Complete the choke assembly tighten itstrenghtly with special toothed wrench(fig. 58).

Warning: before to use the shotgun again,take care that the choke wrench has beenremoved from the barrel muzzle.

Before the shotgun is put away, cleaningthe internal choke and relative barrelthread is recommended.

Choice of ammunition

The Benelli semi-automatic shotgun canuse shells with a 65 mm (2 1/2) or 70 mm(2 3/4) case, with maximum shot loads of42 grammes (Demi-Magnum) for 12 gauge

and 32 grammes (Demi-Magnum) for 20gauge.

For models with Magnum barrel, besidesthe above types of ammunition, 76 mm(3) cartridges may be used with maximumpermissible shot loads of 56 grammes for12 gauge and 36 grammes for 20 gauge.

WarningNever use cartridges with case longerthan the chamber, as this would have se-rious consequences for both the gun andshooter.No adjustment to the shotgun are neces-sary to fire any of the ammunition listedabove.Always use ammunition that is powerfulenough to fully cycle the action.All Benelli shotguns are subjected to a1370 bar burst test at the Italian NationalProof House in Gardone Valtrompia(Brescia).

La Benelli Armi S.p.A. est heureuse devous prsenter sa nouvelle gamme de fu-sils semi-automatiques, realiss grce autravail efficace du Centre dEtudes e de

Recherches de Benelli Armi. Il a pu de sur-crot tirer profit de lexprience trs vastedont Benelli Armi S.p.A. a acquis dans ledomaine technologique en gnral et no-tammente dans celui de la mcanique deprcision.

Le nombre rduit de ses composants, samcanique extrmement simple et ration-nelle, loriginalit de sa nouvelle tte defermeture rotative et de son nouveau syst-me dalimentation du magasin (cut off),

confrent aux nouveaux fusils Benelliune trs grande fiabilit de fonctionne-ment, un emploi pratique et une parfaitesimplicit de dmontage et dentretien,tant et si bien quon peut absolument lesconsidrer les fusils les plus modernes,prcis, srs, rapides et lgants actuelle-ment dans le commerce.

Fonctionnement

Les nouveaux fusils semi-automatiquesBenelli se basent sur le mme principede fonctionnement inertiel, canon fixe,utilisant lnergie cintique du recul de

larme, qui encore aujourdhui constitue laplus importante et ingnieuse nouveauttechnique de nos armes.Comme on le sait, ce systme nexige paslemprunt des gaz ni le recul du canon,mais utilise un ressort intercal libremententre la tte de fermeture et Iobturateur.Au moment du tir, par raction au recul dufusil, Iobturateur (inerte) accomplit un a-vancement denviron 4 mm., proportion-nel la puissance de la cartouche en com-

primant le ressort. A la fin de la compres-sion, le ressort se detend, faisant reculertout le groupe obturateur, permettant ainsilextraction de la douille et le recharge-ment de larme qui seffectue selon le sys-tme traditionnel.Le ressort est charg de faon crer unretard louverture, et moduler, sans n-cessit de freinage, les diverses pressionsproduites par les cartouches de diffrentespuissances.

Ce principe de fonctionnement a t com-bin une tte de fermeture tournante, ro-buste et simple, qui grce deux seulesdents de fermeture, assure une fermetureparfaite et axiale de la culasse, capable de

supporter dans le canon les pressions decartouches.La nouvelle gamme est quipe dun syst-me dalimentation spcialement tudipour:

- permettre le passage manuel des cartou-

ches du magasin la chambre en vuedun changement rapide et facile desmunitions dans le canon;

- assurer une alimentation encore plus ra-pide et plus sre dans le rarmement au-tomatique;

- vrifier rapidement si larme a le chienarm et si elle est prte tirer.

Le nouveau systme dalimentation prvoitun levier spcial de descente de la cartou-

che dont la partie extrieure dpasse leplan infrieur de la carcasse et qui est faci-lement accessible au doigt qui appuie surla dtente.

Au moment du tir, le ressort du chien faitpivoter verticalement le levier de descentede la cartouche en le dgageant du levierdarrt de la cartouche. Celui-ci, du fait deson ressort de rappel, tourne de gauche droite permettant ainsi la sortie dune car-touche du magasin.

Cette cartouche, en se positionnant sur l-lvateur, appuie sur le levier darrt de lacartouche en le faisant tourner dans le senscontraire et empchant ainsi la sortiedune deuxime cartouche.

Llvateur, command par lobturateur,monte automatiquement et amne la car-touche dans la position dentre dans lachambre.

Entre temps, le ressort du chien, dj re-comprim en position darmement, a li-

ber le levier de descente lui permettantde reprendre sa place. De cette manire lelevier darrt de cartouche est oblig de re-tenir dfinitivement les cartouches encoredans le magasin jusqu ce qu'un nouveaucoup naura pas t tir.

Le levier de descente de la cartouche com-porte, bien visible sur la partie qui dpassedu plan infrieur de la carcasse, un petitpoint rouge. Lorsque celui-ci est visible, lechien de larme est arm et elle est prte

tirer. Dans le cas contraire, le chien delarme est dsarm.

Les nouveaux fusils, utilisent, comme tousles automatiques Benelli, Inergie de reculde larme pour tous ses mouvements auto-matiques. On limine ainsi, aussi bien lesinconvnients des systmes canon re-cul (vibrations du canon pendant le tir, n-cessit dun frein de rgulation pour lescartouches puissantes, etc.), que les in-convnients du systme procdant par em-

prunt des gaz, (ncessit de nettoyage dela prise de gaz, perte de puissance dans lavitesse initiale de la charge de plomb et r-percussion ngative sur la conformation enprofondeur de la gerbe et possibilite den-

rayage lorsque les conditions atmosphri-ques sont dfavorables). On a ainsi une ar-me moderne et pleinement fiable.

Grce leur haut degr de perfectionne-ment, les nouveaux semi-automatiquesBenelli sont en mesure de fonctionner

avec une trs vaste gamme de cartouches;loriginalit du systme de fonctionnementpar inertie ne demande de toute faon lacartouche quune toute petite quantitdnergie cintique ncessaire pour un au-tomatisme complet de la recharge dter-min par le recul mme de larme.

Un grand nombre dessais balistiques delaboratoire ainsi que dessais pratiques defonctionnement sur les produits de srie,nous permettent de fixer actuellement

180 kgm la valeur de lnergie cintiqueminimale que doit dvelopper la cartou-che cal. 12 et 125 kgm la cartouche cal.20 (valeur mesure au canon manomtri-que sur la base de la vitesse V1 10 m dela gueule) pour le fonctionnement correctde larme.

Garantie

Les normes qui rglent la garantie sontcontenues dans le certificat correspondant.

La Benelli Armi S.p.A. nassume aucuneresponsabilit vis vis des dommagespouvant driver de lutilisation de muni-

tions inadquates, de ngligences danslentretien ou daccidents ds une mani-pulation non approprie de larme.

Montage(fusil emball)

Dans son emballage, le fusil se prsente entrois parties (fig. 1):

- lensemble crosse-carcasse infrieure etsuprieure - obturateur - devant bois

- lensemble canon-culasse- la manette darmement.

Pour excuter un montage correct des pi-ces, procder dans lordre suivant:

1) Saisir la manette et l'introduire dans sonemplacement situ sur l'obturateur enla poussant fond (fig. 2).

2) Saisir de la main gauche le groupe cros-se-carcasse infrieure et supriere-obtu-rateur et de la main droite, en agissantsur la manette, amener l'obturateur danssa position douverture jusqu ce quil

saccroche (fig. 3).Si l'obturateur ne s'accroche pas, agirsur le levier de monte de cartouchedans le sens de la flche (fig. 4) et rp-ter l'opration.

3) Dvisser le capuchon de fixation du de-vant bois (fig. 5) et retirer le devant enle faisant coulisser en avant le long dutube magasin (fig. 6).

4) En tenant le fusil de la main gauche defaon ce que la partie suprieure de lacarcasse soit immobilise sur celle inf-rieure (fig. 7), saisir de la main droitelensemble canon-culasse, introduire leprolongement de la culasse l'intrieurde la carcasse suprieure en veillant ce que le tube magasin entre dans labague de guidage du canon (fig. 8) etpousser fond le canon jusqu sa posi-tion de fin de course (fig. 9) que lonsent chairement tant au toucher qu'aubruit mtallique qui se produit au mo-ment du dclic.

Important: n'oubliez pas de vous assurerque le prolongement de la culasse neheurte pas la tte de fermeture de lob-turateur et qu'il sinsre entre la carcas-se suprieure et la tte de fermeture.

5) Monter le devant bois en l'enfilant lelong du tube magasin (fig. 6); visser lecapuchon de fixation du devant bois,

avec son ressort, lextrmit du tubemagasin (fig. 10) et le serrer avec ner-gie jusqu ce que le canon et le devantbois soient parfaitement bloqus contrela carcasse infrieure (fig. 11).

Important: noubliez pas de vous assurerque le ressort se trouve bien lintrieurde son capuchon (fig. 10) avant de ser-rer le canon et le devant bois contre lacarcasse infrieure; labsence de ressortne permet pas un blocage rgulier du

canon et a pour consquence un en-dommagement de l'arme.

6) Fermer lobturateur en poussant le bou-ton de commande de llvateur (fig.12).

Variation de la pente de crosse(voir tableau page 38)

Le fusil est fourni avec la pente de crosserequise pour les diffrents marchs tabliedorigine lusine. Cependant, si celle-cine garantit pas un paulement et un poin-tage confortables, vous pourrez la varier laide du KIT DE VARIATION DE LA PENTEDE CROSSE fourni avec larme. Il permetde raliser deux autres pentes pour chaque

march. Ce kit se compose du set platine(acier) serrage crosse/paisseur (plastique)variation pente de crosse (fig. 13).

Chaque lment est marqu par la lettrede pente de crosse correspondante.

Avant deffectuer nimporte quelle inter-vention sur votre fusil, noubliez pas detoujours vrifier que la chambre dexplo-sion et le magasin soient compltementvides: lire attentivement les instructions dechargement et de dchargement aux pages

39 et 40.Il sagit maintenant dtablir si la pente decrosse sadapte parfaitement votre per-sonne, ou si la crosse est trop basse outrop haute.

Si elle est trop basse, il faudra la remonteren slectionnant le kit de rglage qui laprcde par ordre alphabtique (par exem-ple si lpaisseur est marque C, passer celle marque B et la platine de crossecorrespondante).

Examinons ensemble la simple procdurede remplacement (fig. 14).

1) A laide dun tourne-vis tte en croixdesserrer les deux vis de fixation A de laplaque de couche. En cas de plaque decouche en caoutchouc, pour ne paslendommager, enduire la pointe dutourne-vis avec la vaseline ou de lagraisse.

2) A laide dune cl tube hexagonale de13 mm desserrer lcrou de blocage.

3) A ce point vous pourrez dgager du tu-be guide de ressort de bielle la crosseavec lcrou de serrage B, la rondelle

lastique C, la platine de crosse D (avecla lettre indiquant la valeur de la pentede crosse estampille) et lpaisseur dela pente de crosse E.

4) A prsent vous pouvez monter un nou-veau kit de pente de crosse. Notez que

toutes les platines de crosse prsententune saillie plus marque dun ct: lesremonter correctement dans la crossepour les faire semboter dans la formeprvue cet effet obtenue dans le bois.

5) Monter tout dabord sur le tube guidede ressort de bielle lpaisseur de lapente de crosse slectionne, la lettreestampille tant tourne vers la crosseet le petit goujon vers la carcasse (le

goujon est log dans un trou sur le dosde la carcasse).En positionnant la carcasse du fusil versle sol, montez ensuite la crosse de ma-nire la tenir lorsque vous introduisezla platine correspondante D sur la cros-se elle-mme (vrifiez que la platine Dsembote parfaitement dans son sigeen bois). Montez ensuite la rondellelastique C et lcrou B sur le tube gui-de de ressort la bielle et serrer fond.

Remonter la crosse aprs avoir fait ensorte quelle saligne parfaitement avecla crosse.En variant la pente de crosse de votrefusil vous avez naturellement altr sa

position de tir: aprs avoir vari la pentede crosse il est opportun deffectuer unesrie de tirs pour vous assurer que cettenouvelle conformation sadapte parfai-tement votre taille et votre style.

Chargement

Suivant les versions et les normes en vi-gueur, le magasin dalimentation est prvupour contenir 1, 2, 3 ou 4 cartouches de70 mm; y compris la cartouche dans le ca-

non, la capacit de feu du fusil est de 2, 3,4 ou 5 coups.

Pour charger larme, procder de la faonsuivante:

- Mettre la sret en repoussant le boutonde scurit en travers sur la garde, defaon ce que sa bague rouge indiquantla position de tir, ne se voit plus; pourplus de scurit, sassurer que larme estdcharge en ouvrant manuellement

lobturateur au moyen de la manettedarmement et en le remanant aussittaprs dans sa position.

- S'assurer que larme est dcharge enouvrant manuellement lobturateur aumoyen de la manette darmement (fig.15) et en le ramenant ensuite dans saposition de fermeture grce au boutonde commande de llvateur (fig. 12);ces mouvements permettent galementdarmer le chien, opration indispensa-

ble son chargement.- Obturateur ferm et chien arm, renver-

ser larme orientant le canon vers le bas.Enfiler une cartouche dans le magasin enla poussant fond avec le pouce jusqu'

Attention: Le chargement du magasin doittre effectu chien arm afin de permettre

au levier darrt de cartouche de bloquerles cartouches qui sintrodusient dans lemagasin mme. Le point rouge du levierde monte de cartouche (indiquant que lechien est arm) devra tre bien visible. S'iltait ncessaire de le ramener cette po-sition, agir sur le bouton de commande del'lvateur.

A ce stade le fusil ne peut pas tirer moins que lon nintroduise auparavant

une cartouche dans le canon.Amener lobturateur la position d'ouver-ture et le retenir dans cette position par lamanette darmement, introduire une car-touche dans le canon travers la fentredjection de la douille (fig. 18).

Laisser libre la manette de manire ceque lobturateur coulisse vers lavant per-mettant lintroduction de la cartouche etsarrtant la position de fermeture.

Durant ces oprations il est impratifdorienter le canon de larme vers une di-rection de prudence certaine et denclen-cher la sret manuelle.

Le fusil est charg. Enlever la sret (ba-

gue rouge visible). Le fusil est prt fairefeu.

Remarquez bien

Au dbut de son utilisation (fusil neuf), unecourte priode de rodage pourrait se ren-

dre ncessaire avant que votre fusil fonc-tionne parfaitement mme avec des char-ges lgres. Si lorsque vous utilisez descartouches lgres vous avez des probl-mes de fonctionnement, il est opportun detirer trois ou quatre botes de cartouches charge standard titre de rodage.

Remplacement de la cartouchedans la chambre

A) - Pour lintroduction manuelle dunenouvelle cartoucheSi lon veut remplacer la cartouche se

trouvant dans la chambre par une au-tre cartouche diffrente, appuyer lacrosse sur la hanche, et ouvrir ma-nuellement lobturateur en tirant lamanette (fig. 19).

La cartouche se trouvant dans lachambre est ainsi extraite puis expul-se de larme (fig. 19). Introduire par-tiellement la nouvelle cartouche dansle canon par la fentre dexpulsion(fig. 18) avant de relcher la manette

pour refermer lobturateur.B) - Par actionnement du levier de de-

scente de cartouche

Si lon veut remplacer la cartouchedans la chambre par une cartouchedu magasin, appuyer la crosse sur lahanche et ouvrir manuellement lob-turateur en tirant la manette (fig. 15).La cartouche de la chambre est ex-traite et jecte de larme.

Appuyer sur le levier de descente decartouche (voir fig. 4) de faon ceque la premire cartouche dans le ma-gasin monte sur llvateur; ensuite l-cher la manette de manire ce quelobturateur, en coulissant vers lavant,incorpore la cartouche monte dans lemagasin en sarrtant la position defermeture (fig. 12).

Durant ces oprations il est impratif

dorienter le canon de larme vers une di-rection de prudence certaine et denclen-cher la sret manuelle.

Pour dcharger larme

Pour dcharger le fusil procder de la fa-on suivante:

1) Mettre l'arme en sret et ouvrir ma-nuellement lobturateur en tirant sur la

manette darmement (fig. 15). La car-touche qui se trouve dans la chambreest ainsi extraite puis jecte de larme.

2) Relcher la manette en laccompagnantde la main et ramener lobturateur enposition de fermeture (fig. 12).

3) Retourner larme et, repoussant llva-teur vers le bas, presser sur le levierdarrt de cartouche par lavant aveclindex de la main droite (fig. 20).

4) Les cartouches du magasin, sortant une une, tomberont dans la main (fig. 21);le levier darrt de cartouche doit treappuy pour chaque cartouche sortedu magasin.

Note importante

Larme peut tre galement dcharge enrenouvelant plusieurs fois lopration indi-que lalina B du paragraphe prcdent.

Dmontage de larme pourentretien et nettoyage

Avant deffectuer nimporte quelle inter-vention sur votre fusil, noubliez pas detoujours vrifier que la chambre dexplo-

sion et le magasin soient compltementvides: lire attentivement les instructions dechargement et de dchargement aux pages39 et 40.

Procder dans lordre suivant:

1) Amener l'obturateur dans sa positiond'ouverture en tirant la manette (fig.15); si l'obturateur ne reste pas ouvert,

pousser le levier de monte de cartou-che dans le sens de la flche (fig. 4) etrpter lopration.

2) Dvisser compltement le capuchonde fixation du devant (fig. 10) et retirerle devant en le faisant coulisser enavant le long du tube magasin (fig. 6).

3) En appuyant la crosse sur la hanche,prendre larme de la main gauche defaon ce que la partie suprieure de

la carcasse soit immobilise sur celleinfrieure (fig. 22), et de la main droi-te, en tirant vers lavant, dgager de lacarcasse infrieure l'ensemble canon-culasse (fig. 23).

4) Dgager la manette darmement avecun coup net (fig. 24).

5) Sparer les deux parties de la carcasseen dgageant sa partie suprieure, versl'avant de lensemble obturateur (fig.25).

6) En retenant de la main gauche len-semble obturateur (fig. 26) de faon s'opposer la pousse du ressort debielle, appuyer sur le bouton de com-mande de l'lvateur (fig. 12) et ac-compagner lobturateur vers lavantjusqu' ce quil ne soit plus pouss parle ressort de bielle (fig. 27).

7) Extraire de la carcasse infrieure len-semble obturateur en le faisant coulis-

ser en avant sur les guides (fig. 28).

8) Retirer le pivot darrt du percuteur del'ensemble obturateur en ayant soinde retenir le percuteur et son ressortde rappel (fig. 29).

9) Extraire de lobturateur le percuteuravec son ressort de rappel (fig. 30).

10) Retirer le pivot de rotation de la tte defermeture de l'obturateur (fig. 31).

11) Extraire la tte de fermeture de lobtu-rateur (fig. 32).

12) Retirer de son sige le ressort de reculde l'obturateur (fig. 33).

13) Retirer de lensemble crosse-carcassela goupille darrt de la sous-garde enla poussant de la droite ou de la gau-che avec la pointe du percuteur mmeou avec un pointeau quelconque (fig.34).

14) De la main gauche pousser le boutonde commande de llvateur et de lamain droite dgager la garde complte(fig. 35).

Le fusil est entirement dmont. Les pi-ces qui ncessitent une vrification et unnettoyage minutieux sont toutes spares(fig. 36).

Remontage de larme aprsson nettoyage

Pour remonter correctemente le fusil aprsl'entretien et le nettoyage normal, proc-der de la faon suivante:

1) Prendre lensemble crosse-carcasse dela main gauche et en pressant avec lepouce de la mme main sur le boutonde commande de llvateur, introdui-re de la main droite, lensemble sous-garde complet, chien arm, sur la car-casse, jusqu ce qu'il butte sur la par-tie avant (fig. 37).

2) Positionner la bague pivot de fixationde la garde de manire ce quelle

entre sur la carcasse (fig. 38) et com-plter le montage de la sous-garde enlintroduisant compltement sur la car-casse (fig. 39).

3) Introduire, par la droite ou par la gau-che, la goupille darrt de la sous-gar-de et ne sarrter que lorsquelle aurat entirement introduite sur la car-casse (fig. 40).

4) Prendre lobturateur et introduire dans

l'orifice de son logement le ressort derecul de l'obturateur (fig. 41).

5) Prendre la tte de fermeture et lenfilersur lobturateur en veillant ce quelorifice sur sa tige soit parfaitement
