Srinagar Gulmarg Sonmarg Pahalgam Katra (Vaishnodevi)

JAMMU

Jammu, the second-largest city in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. This is the city of temples and is also an important trade centre and a convenient stage on the road journey to Srinagar. The famous Raghunath Temple, situated at the city centre consists of seven shrines, each with tower. The interior of the temple is decorated in gold. Its main sanctuary is dedicated to Vishnus eighth incarnation and Dogras patron deity the Rama.

SRINAGAR

Srinagar is located in the heart of the Kashmir valley and spread on both sides of the river Jhelum. Leh, the capital of Ladakh is a fascinating destination. Age-old monasteries, quaint lanes, colorful markets and stunning views of the Himalayas make Leh an exotic destination. Enjoy a visit to the Tibetan settlements, the handicraft markets and the Gupteshwar Cave where the Shiva Lingam is preserved and finally visit the famous Devis Falls. Day 5On to Chitwan (190 kms / approx. 6 hours drive) Today, you will proceed on a drive from Kathmandu valley into the subtropical Gangetic plains - the Terai region, to Chitwan. On arrival into Chitwan, check-in to your hotel. Chitwan is famous for its rich flora, fauna and wildlife, especially the single-horned Asiatic Rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal Tiger ! The rest of the evening is at leisure for individual activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6In Chitwan Early morning, proceed to the Royal Chitwan National Park for jungle activity. Pass through Sal Forests, riverine vegetation and Elephant Grass Savannah. Spot different species of birds. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Thimphu Punakha Paro

THIMPHU

Thimphu, charming capital city is located in the heart of the Himalayas. The most important aspect of Thimpu is its culture and its natural beauty, giving it a unique advantage. The skyline here hardly changes, as new buildings are all constructed and designed in the traditional Bhutanese style. Some sites to visit are Tashichhodzong, the beautiful medieval fortress and monastery housing the Governments office and Kings Throne room, Memorial Chorten, a painting school famous for traditional thangkha paintings and a handicrafts emporium. Entire region around Thimpu has excellent trekking routes of different levels giving you ample opportunities for hiking, trekking.

PUNAKHA

Punakha served as the capital of Bhutan and is also the winter seat

of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot. There are splendid views of the distant Himalayas at Do Chula pas (alt. 3,050 m) on Thimphu Panache road and in spring and early fall, the route is covered in various flowers. The second Dozing built by Shabdrung, in 1637, is open for visitors during Punakha festival and in summer months when the central monastic body moves to Thimphu.

PARO

Paro valley is one of the most scenic places in Bhutan and abounds in rich culture, architecture, religious relics, myths and legends. It is home to Bhutans oldest temples, the picturesque National Museum, monumental fortresses and has the countrys only airport. Paro is also distinguished as amongst the most fertile valleys in the Kingdom earning the nickname it shares with one other valley as the Rice Bowl of Bhutan.

Day 1Arrive Paro On to Thimphu (55 kms / approx. 2 hours drive) Welcome to Paro, one of the most historic valleys in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro airport, post customs and immigrations, begin your tour of Bhutan The Land of the Dragon. You will be driven to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan. Day 2In Thimphu After breakfast, you will proceed on a city tour of Thimphu, visiting National Library, Arts and Crafts School, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum. In the afternoon, visit Anim Dratshang, the handmade paper factory, Thimphu View Point, Handicraft Emporium and Memorial Chorten. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3On to Paro (80 kms / approx. 3 hours drive) This morning proceed to the Dochula Pass (3,050 m). Thereafter, continue driving to Paro. Visit the Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress, which now houses the school for Buddhist studies. On arrival in Paro, check into your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4In Paro This morning, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum where one can see a fascinating collection of art and Rinpung Dzong. Thereafter,

drive north of Paro valley to visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom, which marked the advent of Buddhism in Bhutan. Overnight stay at the hotel.
