    ACTIVE & PASSIVE VOICE Does James write a book? James has written a book. Is a book written by James? A book has been written by James.

    The active voice is the voice that we use most of the time. In the active voice, the object receives the action of the verb but in

    passive voice, the subject receives the action verb.

    Passive voice is used by us in the following conditions:

    When the doer is unknown EXAMPLE: The car was stolen last night.

    When we show the importance of the doer in sentence. EXAMPLE: This house was built by my father.

    When the action itself is more important than the doer. EXAMPLE: John was killed in London tube accident.

    To focus on what happens rather than the doer. EXAMPLE: The thief was beaten in that colony.

    b. When the imperative sentence is without object, we change the voive as following:
