    res)ect bet(een the )arents and their children. !(e$er, s!me !f the *ili)in! $alues sh!(n inthis film cann!t really be called $alues but s!meh!( dis$alues. These $alues are the !nes that

    sh!( that "!in" t! Manila (ill chan"e their li$es, that

    Maganda ang Maputi.This may n!t be seen in the film since it-s a blac+ and (hite m!$ie but,l!!+in" at R!sa R!sal n!( tells us that film industry bef!re $alues (hite )e!)le already. Als!,

    e$en in the st!ry itself, the (!men fr!m Manila that are (hiter and m!re beautiful are "i$en

    m!re attenti!n. An instance is (hen Mi"uel met a (!man fr!m Manila and it (as li+e a bi" deal

    f!r them meetin" her. And, the (!man in the film is sh!(n as m!re beautiful than the !ther(!men in their )lace. Als!, (hen Artur! (ent bac+ fr!m Manila, Artur! came al!n" (ith a

    (!man named /l!ria. n this film, /l!ria is sh!(n as (hiter, m!re beautiful and seier than the(!men in the )r!$ince.

    Mapalad ang Inaapi.This dis$alue is e$idently seen in the film. Maria and J!se are )resented asthe unluc+y !nes. !(e$er, in the end, they c!n2uered all their challen"es in life. An instance is

    (hen a st!rm came and ruined their li$in". 3ther instances are (hen An"elita (as ra)ed by

    4run! and (hen J!se (as +illed by 4run!. These instances sh!( that life (as unfair t! them.

    !(e$er, in the end, (hen 4run! (as +illed by the (h!le nei"hb!rh!!d, ustice (as ser$ed f!rthe death !f J!se and f!r (hat ha))ened t! An"elita.

    Masaya ang may Palabas.n this film, a r!ller c!aster !f em!ti!ns is sh!(n. There-s acti!nbet(een 4run! and Mi"uel, (herein y!u (!n-t really e)ect that a deafmute )ers!n li+e Mi"uel

    (!uld be the her! in the st!ry. And, it really thrilled the (h!le class (hen it (as their fi"ht.

    Then, there-s als! drama (ith all the cryin" m!ments !f R!sa R!sal and the tra"ic thin"s thatha))en t! their family. Als!, there-s c!medy (hene$er this cute little b!y, #it!, c!mes in. And

    lastly, the sin"in" and dancin" are als! )resented in the film. The sin"in" and dancin" are d!ne

    by a "r!u) !f )e!)le.

    Maganda pa ang Daigdig.And, ust li+e s!me fairy tales, there-s al(ays a ha))y endin" in e$ery

    *ili)in! m!$ie. n the film, the st!ry ended (hen 4run! (as ca)tured by the nei"hb!rh!!d and

    the family li$ed a )eaceful life. This +ind !f endin" is s!meh!( a s!urce !f h!)e f!r m!st$ie(ers that maganda pa ang daigdig.!(e$er, (e +n!( that ha))y endin"s are really ust a

    fairy tale.
