We are sorry to hear you folks are passing through a financial
crises, though Isuppose it is to be expected as those of us on the
field are also experiencing areduction in income# Well at least
Gerry and I can send our annual subscriptionr- his birthday is
Sept. 5*
Will add $2.00 which I believe is the price of the Missionary
Address booklet.Then a belated "than you" to "Horizons" for the
publishing, and to all who
prayed for Gerry in I978 in his aljnost year long bout with
t^hoid fever.God his tests continue to be completely negative.

And now a new request for prayer for Gerry: On Thursday, Sept.
13, he fellfrom a ladder while trimming trees in our back yard and
broke both bones just abovethe ankle in his right leg. Alocal
osrbhepedic Surgeon operated Saturday morningept, 15 placing the
brken smaller bcne in its proper place, and inserting a screw
to hold the two pieces of the tibia in place. Hopefully the
first cast will betaken off in '3 to 4 weeks, the screw removed and
another cast put on the leg.
Ri^it now Gerry is back home, but flat en his back in bed. The
Surgeonpromised him he could be up on ciutches in a few weeks, BUT
the cast must stay onthree months. Then rehabilitation - learning
to walk again - will take anotherthree months, more or less.
We believe God can cause Gerry's leg bones to heal even more
rapidly than theS^geon predicts. Won't you join us in prayer? Also
for funds to cover the$621.50 hospital bill and the $1,026.50
orfchepedic surgeon's bill. (Like mostposb-world war II
missionaries, we have no medical-hospital insurance.)

CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
Plan^ for the Christmas Festival are beginning to take shape and
several of us arereally getting excited about this very
specialcelebration scheduled for Sunday eveningDecember the 23rd.
"The Birthday of ourChrist." Thanksgiving Isn't even here yet,
butthat's alright. I've discovered that In preparing for Christmas
and all that It means tome spiritually. Thanksgiving Is more
meaningful as well. 1 am so thankful that the Lordloved me and does
love me enough that He wouldcome to earth Just to save me. 1 am
thankfulfor my family and my Church family. Bothare very precious
to me. - I am thankful thatHe Is with me always to help me through
thoserough spots that life brings. What would wedo with out Him?

to western Mexico for more than 25 years.This fall Geneva wanted
very much to go toAustria to be with her daughter at the birthof
her child and stay with her for a coupleof weeks. The daughter and
her husbandare working as missionaries at the T.C.M. InAustria.
Just a few days before Geneva wasto leave Mexico her husband Gerald
fellfrom a ladder and Injured his leg seriously.He broke both bones
near the ankle. One bonerequlrecjL a screw to hold It together.

cared for. Now he has his 5th castand they hope his last one.He
can't be up, but a very short time eachday on crutches^ but he
still works oncorrespondance, paper work for the missionand
counclling from his bed.Geneva says he Is a good patient, but
verydemanding some times. She Is a registerednurse, which helps.She
asks for prayers for his recovery andthat the funds will come In to
pay themounting medical expenses.The W.C.S.G. had sent a love
offering toGeneva for her trip to be with her daughter.Since she
couldn't go she returned the money..The W.C.S.G. have decided that
there Is nomore worthy cause that they can think ofthan to help pay
brother Bowl Ins medicalexpenses so we have decided to send It
back-foT^that purpose. - ~
