Realize a meeting of exchange of experiences on design and implementation of politics with unique approach for the indigenous peoples of Latin America.

The Vth meeting of governmental, national, regional entities of Latin America countries in the indigenous

territories Yetara Uai:“Creating public policies with a different approach focu-

sed on the indigenous peoples”

From this target we expect the following results:

That indigenous peoples, national governments and civil society take part of V Latin-American meeting.

There will be a memorial document of the meeting distributed and socialized to the participants.

Evaluate the advances and challenges of each Latin-American country in the construction and politics implementation with differential indigenous approach to the following of five

thematic axes:

Territory, Participation and previous Consultation, legal protection and Juridical, cultural Identity, Indigenous

The participants of V meetings will be available to “line of base on the process of construction of public politics with differential approach in Latin America”Having finished the event; it will have a declaration of commitments to the public politics of each one of thematic axes in the meeting: “Yetara Uai´s agreement”

Insist across different strategies in the markers of public politics for the inclusion, construction and implementa-

tion of the differential approach of agreement to the advances of each country

That the indigenous peoples, governments and members of the civil society create an action plan for the implementation

of the “agreement yetara uai” in accordance with each Make a group of integral commission of Latin American to follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of the commitments

of the “agreement Yetara uai " and the action plan.

Brief memory of the previous meetings

During the previous meeting, many indigenous tribes were part of these events in Latin-American just like: Aché, Avá, Mbya, Paí Tavyterá, Ayoreo, Lengua, Angaité, Zapotecas, Náhuatl, Purépe-chas, Zotziles, Kunas, Guaymíes, Pipils, Mishquitos, Bora, Uitoto and other. In the same way, famers and afro-descendant from the

continent.

The 1st meeting “Tantanakushun” with the indigenous slogan “For the strengthe-ning of indigenous people´s processes and autonomy in their territories” it meeting took place in Ecuador 2007 by the “Consejo de Desarrollo de las Nacionalidades y Pue-

blos del Ecuador (CODENPE).

The 2nd meeting, “Kychemb´il Iximulew “with the slogan “By the water” it meeting took place in Gua-temala 2008 guided by organization AGAAI -la Asociación Guatemalteca de Alcaldes y Autoridades Indígenas.

The 3rd meeting “Tekoháre” it took part in Paraguay 2010 and the main purpose was to foster the indigenous ´progress and identity. This meeting was guided by the CAPI-Coordinadora por la Audetermi-

inacion de Pueblos Indigenas

The 4th meeting, with the slogan “Living in harmony in indigenous, rural territories and intercultural communities” It took part in Bolivia 2011. The meeting was led by the organization COINCABOL

and the indigenous found.

¿Who are called?

The 5th meeting Yetara Uai will call members of the governmental entities, citizen and indigenous people

from 23 countries of Latin American.

The OPIAC involves 56 different local organizations of indigenous peoples, who live in departments of the Amazonia, Caquetá, Guainía, Guaviare, Putumayo and

Yetara Uai. The meaning of the yetara uai for the Huitotos is “advices”; is “the word of life”, in the maloka the chief recounts folktales and give advices for the tribe though the oral tradition. It is evident that oral tradition conveys a valuable element of Yetara Uai. The Huitoto in the maloka use some important elements as the mambe (Jibie) and the yerak+ (Ambil).Yetara Uai refer to di�erents ways of acquiring knowledge in the Huitoto dialect spoken by the Huitoto. The target of the Yetara Uai is to teach how to live in harmony with the environment and other tribes. Moreover, the YETARA UAI has di�erent meaning of advices according with the context of the Huitoto. (Education, health, tradition, etc.)
