Budapest City tour guide for busy people exploring cities over short trips. PDF focuses on Great Value food, coffee, visiting people, sightseeing, history, free tours, drinks and what really matters i.e. to have a good time.City of LifeMust be honest this is a city I fell in love with at the very first sight. Great views, incredible pubs/restaurants and all available at reasonable prices. It’s possibly one of the places I would happily settle down. City consists of two parts Buda, hilly terrain infested with beautiful architecture, complimented with the flat terrain of Pest. The highlight for me was the beautiful lake running from the heart of the city dividing the Buda castle from the city of Pest. A great place to visit is the Jewish quarter with it’s bustling bars and restaurants.

  • City of Life Must be honest this is a city I fell in love with at the very first sight. Great views, incredible pubs/restaurants and all available at reasonable prices. Its possibly one of the places I would happily settle down. City consists of two parts Buda, hilly terrain infested with beautiful architecture, complimented with the flat terrain of Pest. The highlight for me was the beautiful lake running from the heart of the city dividing the Buda castle from the city of Pest. A great place to visit is the Jewish quarter with its bustling bars and restaurants. Some of my tips, in no particular order:

SZIMPLE BAR Charming bar using an abandoned building to create something of a spectacle. With fairy lights and scruffy furniture this is a must see in the Jewish Quarter.

JEWISH QUARTER Once an area where Jewish community was forced to live during second world war. Now is bustling with bars, clubs, historic and cultural remains including the Great (Central) Synagogue

RDAY U the restaurant street of Budapest, littered with coffee shops, galleries and bars a good place to go to after walking through the city to recoup energy, whilst being spoilt for choice.

RIVERRIDE Amphibious tour of the city on a bus which later becomes a boat and floats on River Danube. The tour costs around 20pp but possibly the best in-depth tour of the city.

FREE WALKING TOUR Unarguably one of the most informative tour of our trip. We covered lots in just 3 hours. The guide was friendly and works on tips only so they make sure that the tour is top quality

GELARTO ROSA ICE-CREAM Gelarto is the sure shot way to keep cool in Budapests summer. A unique offering with up to 3 flavours of ice-cream blended together like a Rose Rosa and hand-crafted in front of you.

  • Budapest holds the title "City of Spas" since the year 1934, as it has more thermal and medicinal water springs than any other capital city in the world. There are 118 springs in Budapest, providing over 70 million litres of thermal water a day. The temperature of the waters is between 21 and 78 Celsius.

    SPAS

Szechenyi Baths and Pool: Probably Budapests biggest and finest spas with 15 indoor baths and 3 large outdoor pools.

Its not a bad idea to dedicate a whole weekend of pampering and relaxation at Budapests spas costing you just under 15 per day.

CENTRAL MARKET HALL Grand market with food stalls for meat, spices, traditional art and craft and weekly shopping. A great place to be one with local culture and time to snap pictures as you go through the stalls.

PANORAMIC VIEW FROM st. MATTHIAS CHURCH Probably one of the nicest views of the entire city, situated on the hills of Buda, is a trip worth making. You can take a bus or 10-15mins walk to the church and the castle.

BREAKFAST AT CAFE ALIBI Very centrally located cafe, serving breakfast on the terrace. Enjoyed their freshly brewed coffee and champagne breakfast, gets you ready for an action packged day at Budapest

FOUNTAINS There are numerous fountains around Budapest to dip your feet in the water or just have a drink. We discovered over 4 drinking water fountains in the city, a must have under the scorching hot sun.

St. Stephen's Basilica The site is a fantastic symbol of Hungrys art and architecture. If you get a chance, you must walk up the tower for stunning views of the city.

TIME FOR A SELFIE Budapest is a stunning city with bridges, river, clubs/bars, monuments, nice walks, shopping and just about everything. Oh yes! and certainly the place to take a SELFIE.

    FROM THE EDITOR

I truly discovered traveling in 2010 when I started visiting places due to work. Trying to squeeze in a weekend for pleasure sounded like a good idea but there isnt much content out there, which focuses on short city travels. My aim is to help you maximise your tiny travels and explore as much as possible during your weekend.

WHY TRAVELPDF I found myself traveling through many cities on a comfortable budget but not having enough time, the explorer in me wanted to get out there and make sure I made most of my holiday. I put this PDF together so you can perhaps trail my footprints and explore some of my discoveries.

I wanted to make sure that this was in a PDF format so anyone can download it without

downloading a special application (app) or plugin. You do not require to be online to explore these places. Just follow the map and the content offline and save yourself some pennies.
