Design is a strong urban attraction which is felt in its
streets, architecture, in multiplicity of fairs, in clothes and
in several spaces of the City of Buenos Aires.
New trends have a remarkable presence in Palermo and
San Telmo neighborhoods.
There, designers of the City deploy their productions
stamping a style which mixes the Latin soul with Europeaninfluences, whose spectrum of options ranges from small
objects to furniture.
Exclusive design-made clothes also find a privileged space
in this metropolis. Citizens of the City and guests indulge
in window shops of these Palermo streets which get
dressed in design creations signed by young designers. The flow of talents is permanent and varied.

Unexpected and exciting, with its urban characters and
full of mystical corners, the City of Buenos Aires was the
source of inspiration to many writers. This is how millions of readers worldwide know Parque
Lezama through On Heroes and Tombs, by Ernesto
Sábato. And they can also imagine the Palermo of Borges,
the Flores of Roberto Arlt, thanks to his works.
The porteña tradition of letters is also expressed by
“literary” coffee-houses, where prestigious writers would
go and whose essence and features are kept as in the olddays; and by the wide range of bookstores available for
all readers’ preferences. antiques; brand-new, publishing
houses; institutions and for specific purposes stores.
It cannot be put to chance that the “Reader’s Day” is
celebrated here, a data revealing the literary soul of this
city, which was honored by UNESCO as the World BookCapital 2011.

acknowledged as “Remarkable” and take part, officially, of

Cultural Capital of Latin AmericaThe City of Buenos Aires matches the porteña mystic with the overall
modernity while presenting an intense cultural life which turns it into the
venue of the most varied and attractive cultural events.
Birthplace of great poets, painters, musicians and dancers, owner of a
rich history which remains alive in the urban heart, the rhythm of culture is
restless in this metropolis. The City’s heart beats in the great theatres and
on the small scenarios, where the classics, avant-garde and experimental
popular proposals live together every day.The cultural interest is felt in the bookshops, where thirsty for knowledge
readers may find both old and modern editions. Buenos Aires is
discovered through its museums, art galleries, tango and milonga shows,
and in festivals gathering international and local artists which appeal
visitors worldwide.
The City, which matches passion with intellectuality, is restless; the
capital of Argentina always has some surprises for us. The City of Buenos Aires is culture.
