Who/what are Durisol?
• Product has been available for over 50 years• Production facilities – Austria, Canada, North
America, Holland, Israel, Russia, Japan.• Licence for UK & Ireland- Factory in Crumlin,
Gwent• Replacement for traditional masonry wall
construction.• Forming a concrete framed building
What is Durisol?
• Durisol is a proprietary material sometimes called “woodcrete”
– Clean recycled waste wood is “mineralised” and used as a replacement for aggregates in a concrete mix, producing a durable material with an open matrix» Fire proof» Rot proof» Lightweight» Resistant to wood boring insects
Forming Durisol Walling
• Durisol is cast into wall form units - PFA• Uniform and consistent sizing (engineered finish)• 4 No sizes (170 – 365mm wide) - Lightweight under
CDM regs - only 8 units required per m2• Dry stacked without mortar from foundations• Use of high slump concrete fill guarantees void free fill
of forms• Easily altered on site• Units can be self palletised - minimising site waste –
waste can be returned
