Diarrhoea, weight loss and cardiac dysfunction inan elderly patient: case report

A 74-year-old man developed diarrhoea, weight loss andcardiac dysfunction during treatment with capecitabine andtrastuzumab [dosages, routes and duration of treatments toonset of reactions not stated]. The man had distal oesophagealadenocarcinoma. He had tumour recurrence that was positivefor human epidermal growth factor receptor 2. He startedreceiving capecitabine, trastuzumab and oxaliplatin. Due tothe development of diarrhoea, weight loss and cardiacdysfunction, he received five cycles only [outcomes of ADRsnot stated]. Subsequently, his disease progressed and hisfamily decided to stop treatment. At last follow-up, he was inhospice care.
