I have completed two years of medical school of a six year program in my home country of Venezuela, but circumstances beyond my control have temporarily detoured my ultimate goal of becoming a qualified Emergency Room physician. I am now pursuing education leading to certification as a paramedic, but hope to eventually resume my medical studies. I have had diverse inter-cultural experiences from my Latin American upbringing, from the time spent as a foreign exchange student in the USA and from my period of higher education studies in Minnesota. My interpersonal skills were enhanced by a wide variety of work experiences gained from summer and part-time employment while pursuing my studies. Those work experiences include tutoring Spanish, teaching karate to young kids and functioning as a health/training coach at a medical clinic.
