The ZIIIRO Gravity presents a simple and unique

way of reading time. The tip of the inner swirl

represents the current hour, while the outer

swirl displays the minutes, with a continuous

gradient movement showing the passing

through time. Resting on a bracelet strap, it

combines silicone and metal to form a flexible

bracelet wrist watch. ZIIIRO Gravity’s inter-

changeable clock body is available in 7 colors

and can be mixed with all of the exchangeable

models.

sen. Während sich auf dem Zifferblatt im Fluss

Welcome to our galaxy where the hour and

minute orbits around its center of gravity ZIIIRO.

The Orbit displays time by utilising two planets,

the colored orb representing the hour and white

orb displaying the minute. Resting on a bracelet

strap, it combines silicone and metal to form

a flexible bracelet watch. This model is fully

interchangeable with other models and comes

in four colors of Banana, Ocean, Snow and Grey.

ZIIIRO Aurora displays time using two transpar-

ent gradient discs, blue color representing the

hour and yellow displaying the minute. By over-

lapping both gradients, it makes the clock face

a halo of continuously changing color nuances.

Resting on a bracelet strap, it combines silicone

and metal to form a flexible bracelet watch.

This model is fully interchangeable with other

The Gravity model was designed to have

no obvious buttons or crown. By adding an

interchange mechanism, we managed to kill two

birds with one stone: Hiding the crown of the

analog watch movement and expand its func-

tionality at the same time. Detaching the clock

body from the strap is easy – you just have to

push it out from the case back. The interchange

mechanism is also a fashion benefit. If you own

two different Gravity’s, you can spice up your

wardrobe with four color combinations.

Das Modell Gravity wurde als eine Uhr ohne

sichtbare Knöpfe, Schließe oder Krone konzipiert.

Durch einen Austauschmechanismus konnten

wir zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe schlagen

und sowohl die Krone verstecken, als auch die

Funktionalität erhöhen. Den Uhrkörper aus dem

Armband zu entnehmen ist leicht – er lässt sich

ganz einfach von der Rückseite hinaus drücken.

Der Austauschmechanismus ist zugleich ein

Modegimmick, denn mit zwei Gravitys kannst du

dein Outfit mit vier verschiedenen Farbkombina-

tionen aufpeppen.

Saturn’s unique digital display dives into

the future by propelling its hour and minute

through black segments. The hour can be

deciphered from its outer ring of 12 segments

and minute from inner ring of 60 segments.

Keeping it simple, we minimized the number of

buttons on the side of the case to just one, which

activates backlight. This futuristic piece comes

with a matte stainless steel casing and 24 mm

stainless steel mesh strap.

Available in colors of Black, Gunmetal, Chrome

and Silver.

our designs.”

IT ALL BEGAN ON THE INTERNET WHERE

ROBERT, BASED IN GERMANY, POSTED HIS

WATCH DESIGNS. THEY CAUGHT DERICK’S

ATTENTION, WHO WAS HALFWAY ACROSS THE

GLOBE IN HONG KONG. IN MARCH 2010, THE

TWO OF THEM STARTED ZIIIRO

Robert: “I was absolutely thrilled at having

the chance to take my designs into production.

We spent the following nine months on research

and development. One big hurdle was that

neither of us had any product or watch design

background. And on top of that, I had to juggle

between ZIIIRO and my day job as a media

designer. It was highly challenging but at the

same time fun and exciting to dive into this new

world. I’ve never dreamed of this day where

I’m designing products that would bring joy to

people all over the world.”

HEI CAME ONBOARD AS THE THIRD MEMBER

OF TEAM ZIIIRO AND WAS IN CHARGE OF ALL

TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF PRODUCTION. WITH

EVERYTHING IN PLACE, IT WASN’T LONG

BEFORE ZIIIRO LAUNCHED ITS FIRST TWO

MODELS, GRAVITY AND MERCURY, ON THEIR

CUSTOM-BUILT WEBSTORE.

Derick: “The day we launched our webstore,

Robert and I “met up” on Skype for a launch

countdown. I still remember the epic moment

when I clicked on the mouse and watched our

webstore, bearing our fruits of labour, go live.

Then we waited for feedback from the first own-

ers of our watches, fearing they might not like

their new time machines for some reason. There

was a lot at stake because we’ve put in every bit

of our heart and soul into ZIIIRO. As it turned

out, everyone really liked our watches!”

OVERWHELMED BY THE POSITIVE RESPONSE,

ROBERT AND DERICK REALIZED THAT WITH

THE ZIIIRO BRAND THEY CREATED A PERFECT

PLATFORM FOR SUBSEQUENT IDEAS TO

BECOME TRUE. REGARDING THE WAY HOW

WE WORK ON NEW PROJECTS TOGETHER, NOT

MUCH HAS CHANGED SINCE THE BEGINNING.

Robert: “One crazy thing that most people

don’t know: From the time I first met Derick

online, we’ve always been communicated with

each other by Skype, E-mail or Facebook – but

always only by text. We got familiar with that

circumstance, on the one hand because of the

time difference from Germany to Hong Kong,

on the other because I had to talk to him during

my work time of my regular job. I can’t even say

why, but we never called each other. So we never

even heard each other’s voice for more than 2

years! The first time we met, was when I invited

Derick to my wedding in 2012. Later on, we got

to meet more often, when we visited him in

Hong Kong or on the Berlin Fashion Week where

we exhibited for a couple of times.“
