Welcome to the first issue of CEFL Outlook eNews a quarterly newsletter by Cambridge
English For Life that provides relevant updates to students and parents To kick things
off lets take a look at our featured Star Achiever for this quarter Weve also included
exciting highlights from our recent Crystal Gala Annual Dinner
From time to time CEFL participates in various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)projects and weve highlighted some projects that have been keeping us busy recently
Rounding up this issue Dr Elsie our Editor sheds some light on CEFLs 15 year
milestone as a leading provider of accredited English language programmes

CEFL dazzles as it turns 15
Colleagues business partners teachers and
students came together for an evening to
commemorate our 15th Anniversary during
CEFLs Crystal Gala Annual Dinner on 19th
April 2015 held at IDCC Shah Alam
In conjunction with our anniversary 15
Star Achievers from various centres were
recognized and awarded for their
outstanding academic achievements in the
Cambridge English Language Assessment
and for their exceptional progress in
learning the English Language
Not forgetting the talented people behind
the success of CEFL students nine CEFL
centres were recognized for their various
achievements with CEFL Kota Kemuning
bagging the most coveted award for the
night as Franchisee of the Year
For the first time ever CEFL held its very
own CEFLs Got Talent From singing to
playing instruments to live sketching
contestants entertained the crowd with
their fun performances Congratulations to
Asyraf from Merchant Square who went
home with the Grand Prize after impressing
the judges with his rendition of You Raise
Me Up
CEFLrsquos Corporate SocialResponsibility (CSR)Projects
In collaboration with Sri Murugan Centre
CEFL provided free English lessons for low
performing students from underprivileged
backgrounds who will be sitting for PT3
examinations this year Classes were held
every Saturday at SMK Vivekananda
Brickfields and ran from 7th to 28th March
2015
CEFL also partnered with The Edge
Education Foundation (TEEF) for its
educational initiative with Taylorrsquos
University and Ernst amp Young named PACE
(Programme for After School
Enrichment) to provide free English lessons
for a period of 10 weeks to 50 upcoming
PT3 students at SMK (L) Methodist Sentul
and SMK (P) Convent Sentul The students
were handpicked by TEEF from lowshyincome
homes and those who needed help with
their English skills were prioritized Classes
will run after school hours from 4th March
to 13th May 2015

I signed the papers that made it official I had
become a coshyfounder of a company A company
that in many ways was just an extension of my
childhood passion for teaching Irsquom a teacher by
training (and who actually wants to be a
magician) and all I wanted to do is to teach With
Godrsquos help we grew from being a twoshycentre operations with a total number of 30 students to
a 60shycentre network we have breached the 10000th student mark and growing stronger
than ever
I thank God every day for his blessings and for the good fortune of providing CEFL with people
shy who came to work with this company at some point over the last 15 years shy who have
faithfully stayed by CEFLrsquos side ever since Together we have made CEFL a success Together
we have made sure that we can gather here today and celebrate our 15th anniversary
milestone
15 years ago CEFL was founded on the premise of a dream that was simple enough make
English lessons magical and memorable And today 15 years later we have arrived at some
significant achievements Despite stiff competition we are still the leading provider of
accredited ready to launch English language and early childhood development programmes in
Malaysia I would like to thank all of our past and present students for believing in us and to
allow us to continue to prove that we are worthy of your trust in us to provide high quality
and accredited English language programmes Letrsquos continue to enjoy learning and speaking
the English language and before we know it the 20th anniversary will be upon us
