Chalk & Wire Basics

Logging in to Chalk & Wire: Username: First Letter of First Name, Entire Last Name Example: Angela Marocco= amarocco Default Password: baseball

Here are the important icon and tabs of Chalk & Wire

The “Work” tab in the main menu will enable you to access your portfolio assignments/results and field instruction results.

Click “My coursework” to view portfolios (which contain your seminar module assignments). Click “My Results” to view your module assignment and field visit scores from your assessors.

Creating an Assignment Portfolio (Required step before submitting 1st module assignment)

IMPORTANT: Prior to submitting module assignments you must create an assignment portfolio. Step 1: Click Menu button (the three lines in the upper left hand corner)

Step 2: Click “Work”

Step 3: Click “my coursework”

Step 4: Click “New Portfolio” (the blue button in the upper right hand corner)

Step 5: Title your portfolio as follows: First Name Last Name’s Y1 or Y2 2016-2017 Portfolio Assignments (2016 cohort= Y1) (2015 cohort=Y2) Example: Angela Marocco’s Y1 2016-2017 Portfolio Assignments

Step 7: Under “Table of Contents” select the appropriate table of contents (Y1 or Y2 Portfolio Assignments, depending on your cohort)

Step 8: Click “Create”

Submitting a Module Assignment

Step 1: Click “Portfolios” on your dashboard.

Step 2: Select the portfolio that you are looking to add content to.

Step 3: Select the appropriate module assignment (depending on which assignment you are submitting to)

Step 4 (IMPORTANT): Click the small arrow next to “Instructions and Resources”

Step 5 (IMPORTANT): Review the instructions and resources to be sure you’ve completed all the required components of the module assignment.

Step 6: Once you’re ready to upload a file, click “Add content” and then “Add file”

Step 7: Click “Insert content here”

Step 8: Click “Add files” and select the file from your computer (or use dropbox or onedrive)

Step 9 (IMPORTANT): Click “Start” to upload the file

Step 10 (IMPORTANT): Click “Close”

Step 10: After you click “close” you will see the file you uploaded.

Step 11: Once you’ve uploaded your file(s) you need to: Click “Submit” in the upper right hand corner.

Step 12: Type the name of your seminar facilitator in the assessor field. The seminar facilitators are:

Reneisha Maye Elizabeth Rivers Gina Williams

Catherine Keating Robin Wax

Patricia McCormick Jean Mrachko

Step 13: Once your assessor's name populates in blue, select the name. *Note: Catherine Keating’s name is being used in the screenshot to the left, but please be sure you’re typing in the name of YOUR actual seminar facilitator.* IMPORTANT: Click “Submit”

Step 14: You will receive a message confirming your successful submission.

Step 14: The upper right hand corner status should now say “Submitted.”

Here’s an overview of the different functions found within a module assignment in your Chalk & Wire portfolio.

Accessing results from field instructors or seminar facilitators

Step 1: Click Menu button (the three lines in the upper left hand corner)

Step 2: Click “Work”

Step 3: Click “My Results” to view your module assignment and field visit scores from your assessors.

Step 3: Select the Module Assignment/Field Visit you wish to view

Step 4: Select “View Summary”

Login Trouble

The likely difficulty pertaining to logging into your account will either be a User ID or Password issue. The probable solutions are as follows: User ID Trouble

● Your user ID is the first letter of your first name and your full last name.

● Example: John Smith = jsmith Password Trouble

● Click on “Forget Password” ● Type in your username or email ● You will receive an email from Chalk & Wire to reset your
