While Members are still basking in the summer sunshine, we have been busy preparing a host of programmes and promotions as we head into autumn.

Headlining the season’s events is our Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, which will be moved from the 11/F poolside to indoors this year as a precaution against adverse weather. Take in the joyful festive ambience as you enjoy the gourmet and have fun in the range of lively game booths we have prepared for our Members on 7th floor. Nevertheless, our restaurants will continue to offer a delectable selection of banquet services befitting of a joyful family reunion. Of course, the Mid-Autumn Festival would not be complete without the Club’s popular moon cakes. The Club has prepared for you a collection of moon cakes with diverse flavors for your own enjoyment or as a gift. Ensure you take home these delicious treats and our elegant gift hampers by completing the enclosed order form.

Members can toast to the new season by savouring exquisite French wines at the Domaine des Pères de L’Eglise wine dinner on 11 September at Noble. In the coming months, the Club’s master chefs will also take you on a culinary adventure by serving up dishes from Macau, Southeast Asia, as well as local Chinese dishes with a Japanese touch. Our banquet services go beyond the festival, particularly the Hundredth Day Banquet for parents to welcome the latest addition to their family.

To top it off, indulge yourself with the sensational experience as you try out the Club’s signature Silky Cream Cake with Strawberry and the refreshing taste and velvety texture of the bestselling “ Pandan Cake” by our Pastry Chef Leung Hon Wing, who recently claimed the Gold Prize (Display – Professional: Wedding Cake) at the HOFEX Hong Kong International Culinary Classic 2015.

For junior members, children can work with one of their most beloved toys in various LEGO workshops to create fast cars or their own theme park. Meanwhile, the pool will be the

site of riveting action as the fastest junior swimmers compete in their annual swimming gala.

今年的中秋節慶祝活動，�大家不需擔心受惡劣天氣影響，�我們將晚會移師至室內舉

Noble 將於九月十一日舉行 Domaine des Peies de l’Eglise 品酒晚宴，�屆時可以品嚐各式香醇

法國紅酒。在未來數月，�本會的大廚們亦將悉心準備各地美饌，�包括東南亞、澳門菜式，�以及

融匯了東瀛特色的粵菜。此外，�除了有不同形式的宴會外，�我們亦備有彌月百日宴套餐，�讓您

Serving up a healthier lifestyle for Members

With the growing emphasis on the notions of healthy diet and environmental

protection, people are paying more attention to the place of origin and the growing

and manufacturing process of their own food. With the commitment to strive for

excellence in serving our Members with the finest, reliable food, the Club uses

organic vegetables provided by reputable and certified organic vegetable suppliers in

preparing its delicacies. Chinese Executive Chef Sze Fai recommends, following the “3

Less Principles for Healthy Diet (Less oil, salt, and sugar)”, scalding or sautéing as the

best cooking methods to savor the sweetness of fresh organic vegetables.

Meanwhile, Western Executive Chef Leung Kar Chee invites Members to try out his

crunchy, freshly made salad prepared with the finest hydroponic vegetables topped

with exquisite olive oil and fruit vinegar. The vegetables are grown in 100% natural

spring water and are free from heavy metal and pesticide residue. Our hydroponic

vegetable supplier produces its products from a remote valley - enclosed on three

sides by pinewood with no industrial and agricultural premises within a 20 kilometre

radius - in state-of-the-art cultivation houses isolated from pathogenic agents and

pests. To go the extra mile in food safety, non-genetically modified seeds are used

in the production process at the farm. Come join us on a delicious journey for better

A glowing Mid-Autumn Festival celebration for a joyful reunion

“The moon is the brightest come Mid-Autumn Festival”, as the proverb goes. The

Mid-Autumn Festival on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month marks the time of the

year when the moon is the brightest and fullest. Our ancestors saw the full moon as

a symbol of reunion, which is the reason why the 15th day of the 8th lunar month

is also called the “festival of reunion”. The long-established tradition of family

reunions during the Mid-Autumn Festival has lived on to this day.

In the past, the Club used to organise poolside barbecues on 11th floor, which,

to the dismay and inconvenience of Members and their guests, were affected by or

even called off due to poor weather on several occasions. In view of this, the Club

will move the festive activity, game booths and buffet to the Lobby on 7th floor

and Noble on 8th floor this year. Come join us in our eventful Mid-Autumn Festival

celebrations featuring traditional lantern riddles, Chinese music show, and an array

of game booths. In addition, junior Members aged 5 to 12 can showcase their DIY

lanterns in the “Best Lantern Contest” and take home the winner’s prize.

A diverse selection of banqueting services will be on offer at the Club’s three

restaurants on this evening to add a sparkling touch to your reunion night with your

beloved family and friends.

Sponsor moon cake donations to spread the festive joy

Moon cake is the one thing that cannot be missed in Mid-Autumn Festival

celebrations. Unfortunately for the underprivileged in society, it is a luxury they

cannot afford due to financial difficulties. For this reason, the Club counts on your

generous support to help us donate moon cakes to charity organizations so that

people in need can share the joy and caring spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

For HK$200, you can sponsor the donation of a box of White Lotus Seed Paste

Moon Cake with Double Egg Yolks to the needy. Members who wish to support the

中秋節慶美酒佳餚同賀人月兩團圓

農曆八月十五日中秋節，�月亮是全年最皎潔最圓滿的

時間，�常以「月到中秋分外明」來形容，�古人把圓月

視為團圓的象徵，�因此八月十五也稱為「團圓節」。

自古至今，�中秋節是一個合家團圓的好節日。

本會以往在十一樓平台舉行的中秋節池畔燒烤

晚會，�常因為惡劣天氣關係而被迫取消或於晚會進行

中受到天雨影響，�令各會員及賓客頗為狼狽和掃興，�

有見及此，�我們今年把娛樂活動，�攤位遊戲及自助餐

移師往七樓大堂及八樓Noble舉行，�精彩節目包括：

猜燈謎、中樂表演，�以及不同的攤位遊戲，�供大家

一起參與慶祝中秋佳節。除此之外，�5至12歲的小會

員還可以在9月27日中秋節當晚，�將自製的燈籠帶來

參加“最佳花燈比賽”，�勝出者將可以獲獎品一份。

An evening of highly acclaimed wines not to be missed

In 2001, Serge and Jean-Paul Gradassi, became the 5th generation owners of

Domaine des Pères de l’Eglise and started bottling the finest Châteauneuf with the

brand of their estate. Established in around 1800, the historical wine estate has 20

acres of vineyard - 17 of which are located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape comprising vines

with an average age of 80 years.

With quality as its core principle, the winery hand-harvests all its vines and

refuses to bottle wines produced in “bad years” or of subpar quality under its own

brand. The winery has made a name for itself in the international stage in recent

years, earning the affection and acclaim from illustrious wine critics, authoritative

publications and wine enthusiasts. On this evening, Brand Ambassador Benjamin

Vigier will share with us his meticulous selection of the very best from Châteauneuf-

du-Pape.

assorted dishes from various Southeast Asian countries,

including Indonesian Beef Rendang, Vietnamese Beef Flat

Noodle Soup and Minced Pork and Basil with Rice Thai Style. Do

Duplo Mechanic Workshop 德寶機械工作坊

Using LEGO DUPLO Education sets, students will

construct different LEGO projects resembling machines

or objects using gears, pulleys and inclined planes. The

programme introduces children to basic architectural

and engineering concepts. It can also help develop their

motor skills and encourage them to express their ideas

through interactive play.

同學們利用LEGO德寶教育積木，�將齒輪、滑輪及斜面積木裝

Can you imagine going to a park where you ride with real dinosaurs?

Or even more dangerously, living in a world with dinosaurs all around

you?

Little Adventurers will brainstorm the story incorporating their

own voices using our digital software and educational LEGO tools.

Pictures of their creations will be taken for story-telling

slideshows. Voice-recordings for the slideshows will also be done by

participants with assistance of instructors. Students will get to role

play and their hard work will culminate into a digital story at the end of

the session.

In this Super Boss Camp – Theme Park Designer, children

will create their own theme park just like Disneyland or

Ocean Park! From layout and facilities to the exciting rides,

children get to design every detail and create a miniature

model using LEGO. Pictures of their creation will be placed

in a PowerPoint presentation, and instructors will work with

them on their grand presentation.

Junior Pro Golf Camp少年職業高爾夫球訓練營

Our Future Pro Golf Camp is a programme for keen junior golfers

who will learn about the game through activities that bring out

the fun side of the sport. They will work on their swing and short

game, as well as practice how to act and react on the golf course.

Junior golfers will also be taught the proper golf etiquette, the

rules of the game and develop their on-course management,

mental and emotional skills.

Children had a fun time using their creative skills at the arts & crafts

workshop on Mother’s Day. They learned how to mould pretty clay

flowers with love which they gave to their mothers on their special

day.

Physiotherapist Winkie Yuen continued her series of workshops

on 26 April, this time focusing on the causes and preventive

measures of shoulder pain. During the workshop, Members

received practical advice on how to alleviate shoulder pain and

performed exercises using a TheraBand.

The Qigong practical workshop was held in May, where

The popular table tennis clinics for juniors and adults

were held on 6 and 7 April. Coach Rain demonstrated how

to perform effective table tennis strokes and techniques

to help the participants enhance their game.

Members thoroughly enjoyed the Zumba Trial Class held on 14 June, as they certainly had a

lot of fun and a good dance workout. Members who are interested in taking up the activity

The Fantastic DuoIn the recently concluded HOFEX Hong Kong International

Culinary Classic 2015, the Club’s Pastry Chef Leung Hon

Wing topped around 40 other competitors and took home

the Gold Prize in the Professional Wedding Cake Display

Competition with his cutting-edge wavy peripheral lines in

baby blue tone wedding cake design.

Meanwhile, the Club’s Chef de Partie - Pastry Kuan

Sau Yee also emerged victorious from a group of around

80 chefs in the Professional Chocolate Coffee Cake

Competition, winning the Bronze Prize. The award-winning

chocolate cake will be offered in Grand Place.

榮在結婚蛋糕擺設項目比賽中，�以反傳統粉藍色調配襯波浪掛

線為主題粉飾的結婚蛋糕參賽，�在同場比賽中擊敗其他四十多

名對手，�勇奪金獎榮耀。

而另一位高級糕點師關秀儀則在朱古力咖啡蛋糕組別中，�

從八十多名競爭對手中脫穎而出，�奪得銅獎，�而這款得獎朱古

力蛋糕將在Grand Place推出。

Cream Cake with Strawberry - freshly made with premium

cream, flour and egg imported from Japan - has taken

centre stage as the Members’ favourite. Also, do not

the magical blend of the fluffy pandan cake and the

refreshing coconut flesh, coconut juice jello and Japanese

cream in this ingenious variant of traditional Singaporean
