I. I. 什麼是財務金融什麼是財務金融 ? (What is Finance?) ? (What is Finance?)

根據美國傳統學院字典 The American Heritage College Dictionary ，“ finance” ( 發音 /iAatn@nk/ ) 這個字，當名詞時可有下列 2 種定義 :

“the science of the management of money and other assets” ，管理財富與其他資產之科學“the management of money, banking, investments, and credit”, 對於通貨、銀行業務、投資、與信用之管理。

當我們使用“ finance” 為動詞時 , 可以有下列 3種可能之意涵：

ain things on credit 以賒帳或憑信用方式銷售或提供某人某種事物

財務金融領域之核心信仰是衍生於財務經濟學 (financial economics) 。一般化 (generalization) 是財務經濟學普遍使用之方法，用來表達一個適用於多種情況下之概念或者理論。 而財務金融是財務經濟學的實務經驗部門

(empirical division) 。

我們也常常以財務管理 (financial management) 來代表財務金融，因為管理是實務經驗裡非常重要的支柱。財務管理亦是從財務經濟中區隔出一塊探索實務經驗的領域。
