Welcome to our evening of Cherishing
Children! Tonight we celebrate 20 years of
changing the world for children experiencing
family separations that started with the
compassion of our Founder Shari Delisle. We
honor Shari this evening for her dedication and amazing insight
into helping families and are proud to carry her vision into future.
"My parents were arguing all the time before coming
to this program. But guess what?! They both came to
my dance showcase last night! They even sat together!
And that never happened before!!" - Lexi, 10 years old

Kids’ Turn San Diego brings peace to children by empowering
them to share their thoughts and feelings with others while
helping their parents gain insight about the impact of how their
behaviors influence their children. We build resiliency, strengthen
self-esteem and create brighter futures for children experiencing
family separations, divorce and military transitions through our
Family Workshops for separated and divorced families, Continuing
the Conversation Counseling Program for Children, Peak
Performance Military Family Classes and Step-Parent Success
Support Groups.

Diego offers to children seeking help to heal from

Ten year old Jamie tells us, "I used to feel sad
when you argued all the time, but you listened
to me and NOW, we're all getting along better,
even though we have 2 houses". Family Workshop
Jenna was a straight A student with lots
of friends. In April, she had one C, three Ds
and two Fs on her report card and was no
longer staying after school to hang out
with friends. Jenna's parents got divorced
in December. "Before counseling, I felt afraid,
silent, unsafe, worried, useless, depressed
and trapped. Now I feel happy, relieved,
safer, talkative and less worried. Thank you
for helping me to open up and not lose my
family!" Jenna is 14 years old Counseling Program

Founded in 2002, the Kenpo Institute is a non-profit,
non-commercial organization to promote individual
development through kindness, strength and awareness.
We train in the martial art of Kenpo, and American evolution
of the traditional martial arts of kung fu and karate.
We at the Kenpo Institute know that self-development
begins in childhood, and it is the duty of parents to create
the best chances for success for those children. Even in
the case of divorce, parents still have the responsibility to
focus on their children as the priority, not themselves.
We believe that Kids Turn San Diego is a critical service to
those children who are caught in the middle of their parents’
dissolution. We are proud to support this truly important
and meaningful organization.
