Yes, that José said while launches a new cigar to celebrate a great year“This has been a very special year for me, I finally came out with my own cigar-company, Las Cumbres Tabaco and my own brand Señorial, which was a dream comes true. After a few years away from home, I moved back to Santiago to blend my

creations and work with my family´s factory, my Cousin Jochi Blanco’s factory, Tabacalera Palma. All this happened on the same year as I´m turning 65, on October 27,th so I am now coming out with my Señorial 65th Anniversary!”This cigar has a 100% Dominican blend to honor this beautiful cigar-country. There are tobaccos from Jochi’s farm at La Canela, Gurabo and Jacagua. The wrapper has 6

year-old aged and the each filler has 5 years of age. This is a Limited Edi-tion of 20,000 and it comes in boxes of 10. The retail-price of this cigar will be $14 per stick and again, only for B&M. “Señorial 65th Anniversary will however be out on the market after 90 days of aging post rolling, meaning after my birthday”.The cigar has a great complexity and quality smoothness. It is hence very balanced and in harmony.

Después de unos años fuera de casa, me mudé de regreso a Santiago para mezclar mis creaciones y trabajo con la fábrica de mi familia, la fábrica mi primo de Jochi Blanco, Tabacalera Palma. Todo esto ocurrió en el mismo año que estoy llegando a los 65, el 27 de octubre, así que estoy ahora sa-liendo con mi Señorial 65 aniversario!”.Este cigarro tiene un 100% de mezcla Dominicana para honrar a este hermo-so país del cigarro. Hay tabacos de la finca de Jo-chi en La Canela, Gurabo y Jacagua. La capa tiene 6 años de edad y cada tripa tiene 5 años de edad. Se trata de una edición limitada de 20,000 cigarros que vienen en cajas de 10. El precio de venta de este cigarro será de US$14 por unidad y otra vez, sólo para B & M. “Señorial 65 Aniversario estará en el mercado después de 90 días de envejecimiento posterior al enrolado, es decir, después de mi cum-pleaños”, nos dice José.

subrayando que siete de cada diez dólares que Estados Uni-dos importa de tabacos y de-rivados proviene de República Dominicana.Al acto inaugural, asistió el Sr. Peter Ghiloni, presidente de Swisher Internacional, quien agradeció al jefe de Estado las facilidades otorgadas para establecer esa compañía en el país y resaltó el excelente clima de inversión que propor-ciona República Dominicana, lo que les permitirá avanzar y desarrollarse en el área del Caribe.Durante la inauguración, los hermanos Augusto Reyes Estrella e Isis Abraham Reyes, entregaron al Presidente de la República un humidor con una selección de los mejores cigar-ros producidos a mano por la Familia Reyes.

Swisher Dominicana, es la una nueva planta para la fabricación de cigarros me-canizados, inaugurada con la presencia del presidente de la República Dominicana, Sr. Danilo Medina Sánchez, en el Parque Industrial Víctor Espaillat Mera en la ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros.Augusto Reyes Vargas, presi-dente de Swisher Dominicana, informó que la inversión en esta nueva fábrica ha sido de 2,100 millones de pesos, la cual genera 2,600 empleos directos, con capacidad de producción de 10 millones de cigarros diarios. El Sr. Reyes, destacó el impresion-ante dinamismo del sector tabaquero, que coloca a la República Dominicana como el mayor productor de cigar-ros mecanizados del mundo,

Nicotiana tabacum is an annually-grown herbaceous plant, relatively, is an easy plant to grow, and its leaves are commercially grown to be processed as tobacco. Here we have a list of the countries where tobacco leaves is grown worldwide:

Dominican Republic: producer of top quality tobacco, especially in the Ci-bao Valley area. Although not as strong, it is quite full-flavored and lends itself to the creation of unusually complex blends.

Brazil: tents to be dark, rich and smooth with a slightly sweet flavor.

Cameroon: These plantations grown in West Africa, are completely sun-grown, especially for wrapper; known to be thinner, a milder leaf, is a great component for full-flavored blends.

Connecticut: is a tobacco grown under shade in the Connecticut River valley of the U.S. states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and southern-most Vermont, and is used primarily for binder and wrapper for premium cigars. Connecticut Broad Leaf is grown in the sun for a wrapper that’s darker and produces a sweeter taste.

Cuba: Cuba’s best tobacco-growing area is the Vuelta Abajo, in the West part of the country, part of the Pinar del Rio region area in western Cuba. In general, Cuban tobacco is strong and full-bodied, with spicy and aro-matic flavors

Ecuador: is a high-quality producer of wrapper and filler tobaccos, shade and sun grown. Its wrapper colors fall between Connecticut and Camer-oon, and its silky texture has visual appeal.

Honduras: produces Cuban and Connecticut seed, both with full body, strong and spicy flavors.

Indonesia: tobacco comes from the series of islands like Sumatra and Java. Wrapper leaves are dark, tasty and fragile in nature.

Mexico: The San Andres Valley is world-famous for a sun-grown variant of Sumatra tobacco. Mexican leaves are used widely as binder and filler (dark tobacco) in cigars.

Nicaragua: There are three main tobacco regions: Estelí, Jalapa and Con-dega, that produces full-flavored tobaccos.

Philippines: produce a hybrid strain that’s very aromatic and mild.

ZONES WHERE TOBACCOIS GROWN

Nicotiana tabacum es una planta her-bácea anual, que es relativamente fácil de cultivar, y sus hojas se procesan comercialmente para ser transformadas como el tabaco. Aquí tenemos una lista de los países donde las hojas de tabaco se cultivan alrededor del mundo:

República Domini-cana: productor de tabaco de altísima calidad, especial-mente en el área del Valle del Cibao. Aunque no es tan fuerte, es bastante completo en sa-bor y se presta a la creación de mezclas inusualmente complejas.

Brasil: tiende a ser oscuro, rico y suave con un sabor ligera-mente dulce.

Cameroon: estas plantacio-nes del África occidental, son completamente cultivadas al sol, especialmente para capa, que es conocida por ser una hoja más suave, más delgada y es un gran componente para mezclas de pleno sabor.

Connecticut: es un tabaco culti-vado bajo sombra en el valle del río Connecticut de los estados de Connecticut, Massachusetts, el sur de Vermont y se utiliza principalmente para el capote y capa en cigarros premium. Connecticut Broad Leaf se cultiva en el sol para una capa que es más oscura y produce un sabor más dulce.

Cuba: la mejor zona tabacalera de Cuba es la de Vuelta Abajo, en la parte oeste del país, tam-bién parte de la zona de Pinar del Río en el oeste de Cuba. En general, el tabaco cubano es fuerte y con cuerpo, con sab-ores picantes y aromáticos.

Ecuador: es un productor de alta calidad de tabacos para capas y tripa, en la sombra y en el sol. Los colores de sus capas están entre las de Connecticut y Camerún y su sedosa textura tiene un atractivo visual.

Filipinas: produce una cepa híbrida que es muy aromática y suave.

Honduras: produce semillas de Connecticut y Cuba, con sab-ores fuertes y pimentosos.

Indonesia: el tabaco proviene las islas del archipiélago como Sumatra y Java. Las hojas para capa son oscuras, sabrosas y frágiles por naturaleza.

México: el Valle de San Andrés es mundialmente famoso por una variante cultivada al sol del tabaco de Sumatra. Las hojas de México se utilizan am-pliamente como capote y tripa (tabaco oscuro).

Nicaragua: Hay tres regiones principales de producción de tabaco: Estelí, Jalapa y Con-dega, que producen tabacos llenos de sabor.

Frank Ranieri, CEO of Puntacana Group; besides families Read, Risek and Selman Group, with the presence the presi-dent of Dominican Republic, Mr. Danilo Medina, headed the break ground of Puntarena in the South Coast of the country.Puntarena, located in Sabana Buey, Peravia province, on an area of 15 million square meters with around seven kilome-ters of beachfront white sand will be a new tourism project and will count with different construction phases. The first one, located in the so-called Flamenco Bay with an area of 2 million square meters, it will comprise two lots for hotels, residential beachfront lots for the construction of villas,

plots for the development of luxury apartments on the beach and in the hills, a recreational area, restaurants, bars, dock for yachts and pleasure craft, among other attractions.In its final development will also feature a full marina and a golf course, with an estimated inversion of US$400 million in various stages.

EL PALAZO DEL PROYECTO PUNTARENA EN SABANA BUEY, PERAVIA, REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA

Frank Rainieri, presi-dente del Grupo Pun-tacana; junto a las familias Read, Risek y al Grupo Selman, con la presencia del pres-idente de República Dominicana, Sr. Danilo Medina, enca-bezó la inauguración de la construcción de Puntarena en la costa sur del país.Puntarena, ubicado en Sabana Buey, pro-vincia Peravia, en un área de 15 millones de metros cuadra-dos con alrededor de siete kilómetros de playa, de arena blanca, será un nuevo proyecto turístico y contará con diferen-tes fases de con-strucción. La prim-era de ellas, situado en la denominada Bahía Flamenco con una superficie de 2.000.000 de met-ros cuadrados, que constará de dos lotes para hoteles, lotes frente al mar residenciales para la construcción de vil-las, terrenos para el desarrollo de aparta-mentos de lujo en la playa y en las colinas, una zona de recreo, restaurantes, bares, muelle para yates y embarcaciones de recreo, entre otras atracciones.En su desarrollo final también contará con un puerto deportivo completo y un campo de golf, con una in-versión estimada de US$ 400 millones en diversas etapas.

ASONAHORES ANUNCIA XXIX VERSIÓNDE LA EXPOSICIÓN COMERCIAL 2015

La Asociación de Hoteles y Turismo de la República Dominicana Inc. (ASONAHORES) anunció la celebración de su XXIX Exposi-ción Comercial ASONAHORES 2015, a reali-zarse del 9 al 11 de septiembre en el Barceló Bávaro Convention Center.La Exposición Comercial 2015 será dedicada a Barceló Hotels & Resorts en la persona de su Presidente Don Simón Barceló por ser la primera cadena extranjera que confió en la República Dominicana como destino turísti-co, abriendo sus puertas en Bávaro en el año 1985. El acto, fue también motivo para darle la bienvenida a los nuevos directores de dife-rentes hoteles en la República Dominicana, ente ellos Bernad Wyss, Roberto Henríquez, Leonardo Ramírez y Ernesto Carrero.

The Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic Inc. (ASONA-HORES) announced the celebration of its XXIX Commercial Exhibition 2015 to be held from 9 to 11 September at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center.

The Exhibition 2015 will be dedicated to Barceló Hotels & Resorts in the person of its president Don Simón Barceló as the first foreign chain that trusted in the Do-minican Republic as a tourist destination, opening a hotel in 1985 at Bávaro.

The event was also the occasion to welcome new directors at different hotels in the Dominican Republic, among them Bernard Wyss, Roberto Henriquez, Leo-nardo Ramirez and Ernesto Carrero.
