Metodický list

DUM seznamuje studenty se základními informacemi o rodinných svátcích, jak se slaví v anglicky mluvících

zemích, zejména ve Velké Británii a USA. DUM je zpracován formou prezentace a procvičuje získané vědomosti pomocí cvičení v závěru prezentace. Součástí DUM je i řešení cvičení.

Inovativnost materiálu spočívá ve využití ICT techniky. Klíčová slova: Party, birthday, wedding, hen party, stag party,

housewarming party, showers.

• It is a party organized for a bride-to-be or a mother-to-be.

• Guests bring gifts.

• People play themed games.

Stag Night

• It is also called Bachelor Party.

• Only men take part.

• It is held for a groom before he gets married.

• His friends celebrate his last night of freedom.

• They usually go for a weekend to Prague, Amsterdam or Budapest.

Hen Night

• It is also called Bachelorette Party.

• Usually bridesmaids are invited to the party.

• It is held for a bride before she gets married.

• They play drinking games and usually get drunk.

• A bride wears a white wedding dress – the symbol of innocence.

• The wedding ring – the circle means eternity and neverending love.

• The wedding cake is a symbol of fertility.• The wedding veil – the tradition dates back

to times of arranged marriages when the groom could not see the bride´s face before the ceremony.
