    This helps the organizing committee get a better count as to how many will be attending. We are in need of volunteers. You can help with road marking, rest stops, day of registration sign in, and food. You can contact Jonathan Benn for additional information. Volunteers get free registration.

    Have you looked at the ride calendar recently? There are so many rides to choose from, no matter what day of the week or time of day. I hope you are getting some miles in and enjoying the great scenery in the Capital region.

    The Tour De Cure was held on June 7 in Saratoga Springs on a beautiful day. Over 2,000 cyclists showed up to ride and support the cure for diabetes. MHCC had a team organized by Robin Krumanocker. The other members this year’s team were Stuart Sacks, Jacqueline Hill, Michael Dack, Henry Wilkie, Mary Scott, Staci Lansley, Craig Rounds, Lisa Rounds, Susan Mitnick, George Hermance, Anne Boehm, Frank Contenda, Paul Gregory and Skip Holmes. The MHCC team raised over $12,000 this year.

    E 7:00AM, ROAD TOUR (15-16 MPH/ROLLING) 103.0 MILES – Detour de Battenkill – Cycle the lovely Tour of Battenkill route at a relaxed pace. Starting in Troy, we pick up the Tour at Buskirk Covered Bridge. We ride the best 50 miles of the route, then follow the Hudson back to Troy. Two food stops. Those who only want to ride the Tour route can join us at the Buskirk bridge. 15 to 18 miles of the ride are on dirt roads!     Road Ride Guidelines

    Everyone is welcome on rides sponsored by the

    Mohawk-Hudson Cycl ing Club, however, our

    insurance policy only allows non-members to join

    us once a year.

    Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before the

    ride starting time.

    All riders must wear helmets. A rider will not be

    allowed on a ride if he/she does not have a helmet.

    Riders are expected and required to follow all

    traffic rules and regulations. Examples are stopping

    at stop signs and red traffic lights, as well as riding

    single file when being overtaken by traffic.

    See below for information about ride pace groups,

    and ride coordinators to contact if you would like

    to lead a ride.

    LCIs are League Certified Instructors, certified

    by the League of American Bicyclists, the national

    organization for bicycle advocacy.

    LCIs are individuals interested in promoting safe

    and effective cycling as a means of recreation and

    transportation to all age levels.

    All LCI candidates must pass courses covering

    varying topics including bike fit, bike maintenance,

    bike handling, vehicular cycling and the rules of

    the road.

    In addition, they review and reinforcing the topics

    learned and how to present them to others. They

    are qualified to lead classes in schools and for other

    interested groups for both children and adults.
