Our President’s

Message….

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for the tardiness of this newsletter. We have so much go-ing on in such a short period of time and I wanted to be sure we were able to get the information out to our members. So I hope you enjoy this double issue. It is filled with many events, photos, and information.

Our Texas Hold’em Tournament was a tremendous success. The hall was filled to capacity and there were lots of prizes for the winners. Thank you to all of the players who participated and congratulations to all of our winners. A special thank you to Queens Trustee Mike Mongelli who coordinates this event every year. Great job Mike by you and your committee.

This year’s Annual Dinner Dance was held on May 8th at El Caribe in Brooklyn. Our Man-of-the Year was Inspector Joseph Gallucci of the Counter Terrorism Bureau. Inspector Gallucci has always been a staunch supporter of this organization and is a well-deserved recipient of this award. Our three Medal of Val-or winners were Andrew Dossi (46th Pct), Marc Fontana (70th Pct), and Tony Cuoco (75th Pct). These officers exhibited courage under some difficult circumstances and were truly deserving of the honor they received. Our Entrepreneur Award was bestowed upon Robert Catalano. Our Italian-American Achievement Award was given to Vic DiBitetto. Vic is very proud of his Italian ancestry and was humbled that our organization honored him. He is truly a class act. A very special thank you goes out to 1st Vice-President Manny Rossi and his committee as well as Sal Ferrante, Steve Salazer, and Dyanne Marzano of the Journal Committee. You guys did a tremendous job.

better if not best of all time. Thank you to

all who attended and made it such a suc-

cess. Columbus Day is right around the

corner. I call out to all our membership, we

as an organization show our support for

our Italian heritage this day. Come out and

march up 5th avenue with us. Don’t forget

to pay your dues if you haven't already.
