A patient who wears dentures, eyeglasses, ora hearing aid should wear it to facilitate communication

Ask about one or two of the instrumental activities of daily living; if capable of those, there is no need to ask about the basic ones. Consider referral if the patient is unable to perform the necessary activities.

A total maximal score on the MMSE is 30 points. Generally a score

of less than 24 points is suggestive of dementia or delirium with

sensitivity of 87 % and a specificity of 82 %
