Each Contempo product is the result a lengthy development period that involves the study of all the manufacturing features, from the initial spark to the final product. In our concept of work, manual skill is the most important, central reference. In the diverse stages of production, from the prototype building, up to the final touches to the finishing, the presence of manually skilled craftsmen is absolutely fundamental. All our collaborators in Contempo are first and foremost proper artisans, able to carry out the whole process. The task they have in our Company, then, is to devote to a specific part of the process their wider competence and skills. Because all women and men in Contempo share the idea of work as a collective responsibility, as a daily participation to a common project.

Dans notre conception du travail, l’habilité manuelle est un point de référence constant. Dans les diverses phases de la fabrication, de la réalisation du prototype au processus de véritable finition, la possession d’une manualité pointue est fondamentale. Qui travaille chez Contempo est avant tout un artisan détenteur d’une capacité traditionnelle de suivre intégralement la fabrication. La tâche qu’il est amené à accomplir dans l’entreprise est donc une spécialisation qui a pour base une compétence plus large. Car les hommes et les femmes de Contempo partagent l’idée du travail comme responsabilité collective, comme participation quotidienne à un projet commun.

In unserer Auffassung der Arbeit ist die Handwerkskunst ein konstanter Bezugspunkt. Bei den verschiedenen Verarbeitungsphasen, bei der Verwirklichung des Prototyps bis hin zu den Prozessen der wahren Endfertigung, ist der Besitz von feinem Handwerkskönnen eine grundlegende Voraussetzung. Bei Contempo arbeitet vor allem ein Handwerker, der im Besitz von traditionellem Können ist, um die gesamte Arbeit auszuführen. During the years, Contempo has developed from an artisan workshop to a modern Company, with a high level of industrialization, which still gives a primary function to people. This concept of production has meant, and always means, the continuous innovation of production processes, with the introduction of state-of-the-art machinery. Contempo’s production model relies on the continuous modernization of the systems for two targets: enhancing the technological content of the products and, at the same time, contributing significantly to the reduction of production costs. Because we’re bound to a specific way of being a Company, made of craftsmanship, taste, manufacturing rationality closely matched with our artisans’ skill in finishing each product according to our high quality standards. We are confident that, following daily this path, and producing each single piece from scratch in our Plant, we are able to control and certify constantly and rigorously each manufacture step.
