THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD An Evening of TAIZE Prayer for Vocations
Monday, January 9, 2017, 7:00 PM As we conclude the Christmas Season, please come and join us for an evening of TAIZE Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life. TAIZE is a service which includes candlelight, prayer, silence, meditation and music. Not only do we continue to pray for peace in our world, we also pray that the Lord will bless His harvest with a bounty of vocation.

My dear friends in Christ,
Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. As we hear in Galatians: God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to ransom those under the law. As Catholics, we believe that our Savior, Jesus Christ, is both fully human and divine. Therefore, the Church confesses Mary to be truly the “Mother of God” (CCC 495). Mary allowed the Holy Spirit into her heart and said “yes” to what God was asking of her. As a result of her freely given consent to the will of God and her cooperation with God’s grace, the Blessed Virgin Mary conceived our Lord and Savior, Jesus, in her womb by the power of the Holy Spirit and left her indelible mark on salvation history. In today’s bulletin you will find an insert which outlines a change in our mass schedule which will take place next Saturday January 7, 2017. We will no longer have a 5:00 P.M. Vigil Mass. The Vigil Mass will be moved to 4:00 P.M. This is a decision that was made as a result of our “Faith in our Future” initiative for the Diocese of Trenton. Our Cohort #1 will stagger the Saturday evening masses so that our priests will be able to better cover each other when vacations take place or if illness occurs. You will see changes like this across the Diocese as the results of the initiative are released later this month by Bishop O’Connell and the Diocesan Planning Commission. This is a good change for Corpus Christi Church as it allows for the faithful to attend mass and return home or to their next destination in the daylight hours. Please continue to pray for me and for our parish as we continue on our journey together. May God Bless You All and Happy New Year!

IN THE CONVENT CROCHET OR KNIT Thursday, January 26th, 12:45-2:15 PM. Help us make Afghans for the St. Francis Inn. This wonderful group raised $1,300 from the Holiday Craft Fair. The afghan was won by Bill Lozier.
Don’t Forget Our CHINESE AUCTION!
During our Monthly Meeting on February 1, 2017 we’ll have a “Chinese Auction” to benefit Saint Francis Inn. Please bring any new items you wish to donate to the January Meeting or leave them at the Convent before January 13th, 2017. Please label items “CHINESE AUCTION.” P.S.: We are always in need of “baskets” to use for the Auction.
