Інша старенька жінка – Надія. Вона також проживає сама. Мала хвору дочку, яка померла минулого місяця. Навіть попри те, що сама є бідною, допомагає іншим людям. Вона є волонтером у Карітасі – шиє і ремон-тує одяг для бідних людей.

Ще одна жінка, яка отримала допомо-гу – це мама, яка народила двійнят недоно-шеними. Немає чим годувати дітей. Прожи-ває сама. Має ще троє дітей. Чоловік помер, коли була вагітна. Ледве виживає. Зараз ле-жить хвора у лікарні. Дітей хочуть забрати у інтернат, але можливо вдасться якось їй ще допомогти, щоб діти могли жити із мамою.

Не менш важливою була допомога для Олександра. Хлопець батьків не знає і ніколи не знав. Виріс у інтернаті у Донецьку. Коли почалася війна він втік у Київ, бо його гуртожиток у Донецьку був якраз недалеко до аеропорту, а там були страшні часи. У Києві проживає у Карітасі, бо ніхто його не хотів взяти до себе. Ми допомогли йому тро-хи і він вчиться, а коли може трошки підроб-ляє. Ці гроші йому були дуже потрібні.

Ще одна дівчина, яка отримала допо-могу – це Юля, яка проживає у кімнаті із ще 7 людьми. Мама наркоманка, а вона із сест-рою виховує ще маленького братика, якого залишила мама.

Дівчинка Олена аж плакала від ра-дості, коли отримала ці гроші. ЇЇ мама помер-ла, коли їй було 4 рочки. Батько виховує сам, але стабільної роботи не має по хворобі. За-раз він дуже хворий і перебуває у лікарні. Олена дуже втішилася, бо якраз прийшла до нас просити допомоги, щоб купити ліки та-тові. Лікарі написали цілий великий список ліків, які потрібно було купити, а вона мала гроші лише на бинт. Олена приходить до нас їсти у їдальню, бо тяжко їм жити.

Можна ще багато продовжувати, але ці життєві історії та долі людей дуже складні, тому щедрість Вашого серця торкає вдячність їхньої душі.

Далі ще буду давати Вашу допомогу всім тим, які її вкрай потребують. Таких у нас дуже багато. Від них всіх і від мене Вам усім уклінна подяка. Хай Господь винагородить Вас усіх сторицею. Зі щирою повагою і вдячністю від імені бідних.

Another elderly woman, Nadia lives alone. She had a sick daughter, who died last month. Even though she herself is poor she helps others. She is a volunteer at the Caritas Relief organization where she sews and repairs clothing for the poor. Another woman who received you r help is a mother who gave birth to premature twins. She has three children and has no food for them. Her husband died when she was preg-nant. She is presently in the hospital and the government wants to put the children into a home but perhaps we will be able to help her keep her children. Equally important was the help for Alex-ander. The boy never knew his parents. He grew up in a boarding school in Donetsk. His boarding house was not far from the airport so when war broke out he escaped. These were horrible times. He now lives with the Caritas organization because no one wanted to take him in. We helped him a little and he is now going to school and when he can he works to support himself. He very much need the mon-ey that you gave him. Another person who received your help is a girl named Yulia who lives in a room with 7 other people. Her mother is a drug addict so she and her sister raised their little brother. A girl named Olena cried from joy when she received your money. Her mother died when she was four. The father raises her alone but he is sick so he cannot hold now a permanent job. At the moment the father is in the hospital. Olena was very happy because she had come to us to help pay for her father’s medication. The doctor’s gave a long list of medication to buy but she had money only for bandages. Olena comes to our dining room to eat for they barely get by. I could continue with these stories for a long time for the destinies of these people are sad complicated. That is why your generosity touches their souls. I wil continue to distribute your money to those who need it most. There are very many people like that here. I send a huge thank you from them and from myself, May God reward you a hundredfold. In the name of the poor, with sincere respect and gratitude.

Високопреподобнi отці Тарасе та Миколо, дорога п. Ксеню та всі доб-родії храму св. Івана Хрестителя в Нюарку! До Вас зі щирою вдячністю звертається о. Роман Сиротич з Ки-єва за надані гроші у розмірі 2000 доларів для допомоги потребуючим в Україні. Гроші я отримав та обмі-няв на гривні і розпочав надавати Вашу допомогу тим, хто її потребує.

Люди зі сльозами на очах і зі щирою вдячніс-тю їх беруть та всі просять передати Вам щи-ру, щиру подяку.

На сьогоднішній день, в Україні панує надважка соціально-політична та трагічна для усього народу ситуація – майже 2 мільй-она українців, були вимушені покинути свої домівки внаслідок війни на Сході країни. Кожного тижня до українських лікарень по-трапляють багато важкопоранених бійців та потерпілого мирного населення. Сотні сімей, щодня втрачають свої домівки, роботу, а де-які з них своїх батьків та синів. Все до-рожчає, а тому ті люди, які були бідні – ста-ють ще біднішими. Для прикладу скажу, що є багато людей, які на місяць не мають навіть і 50 доларів, тому виживають дуже часто зав-дяки нашій спільній допомозі.

Я ще не роздав всіх грошей але вже торкнувся вашими десятьма доларами бага-тьох. Серед них ті, які дійсно виживають, бо ледве зводять кінці з кінцями. Кожному із людей я розповідаю звідки ця допомога, на-голошуючи, що це дар серця добрих людей із храму св. Івана Хрестителя у м. Ньюарку, які щиро поділилися задля добра людей в Україні.

Серед людей, які вже отримали гроші Марта – старенька жінка, яка виховує двох внуків. Одному 4 рочки, а іншому 8 рочків. Їх мама померла від раку два роки тому. Має дуже мізерну пенсію – 35 доларів на місяць. Вона зранку встає дуже рано, щоб піти поприбирати, бо працює прибиральни-цею (двірником), щоб заробити якісь гроші на проживання. Старається ще зробити це до того часу поки повстають діти, а тоді швидко вертається додому, щоб одного завести у школу, а іншого у дитячий садок. Для неї ця допомога дуже важлива – вона зразу сказа-ла, що купить продукти.

Roman Syrotych and I am writing to you about the $2000 that you sent me for the needs of the needy in Ukraine. I received this money and have started distrib-uting your help to those who need it. At this time Ukraine is experiencing hard social -political times and the tragic situation for all of Ukraine is that because of the war in the eastern part of Ukraine almost 2 million Ukraini-ans were forced to leave their homes. Every week the Ukrainian hospitals receive many seri-ously wounded soldiers and injured civilians. Every day hundreds of families lose their homes, jobs and some of them lose their fathers or sons. Prices are going up and that is why poor people have become even poorer. For example many people barely receive $50 per day and survive only thanks to the help of others. I have not yet distributed all of the money that you have sent me but have already touched many people with your $10 gifts. Among them really are those who are barely surviving for they barely make ends meet. I tell each of the recipients who has sent this aid, underlining that this is a gift of love from the people of St. John’s Church in the city of Newark, who have gener-ously donated this money for the good of the people in Ukraine. Among the people that received your gifts was Marta, an old woman who is raising two grandchildren. One is four and the other 8 years old. Their mother died of cancer two years ago. The grandmother has a meager pen-sion of $35/ month. She is a street cleaner and gets up very early every morning and tries to get her job done before the children awaken. She tires to bring in some money on which to survive. When the children wake up she brings one to school and the other to a preschool. Your aid is most important to he and she said that she will immediately go and buy some food for the children.

What have you done?” Jesus answered: “My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my subjects would be fighting to save me from being handed over to the Jews. As it is, my kingdom is not here.” At this Pilate said to him, “So, then, you are a king?” Jesus replied: “It is you who say I am a king. The reason I was born, the reason why I came into the world is to testify to the truth. Anyone committed to the truth hears my voice.” Instead of “Indeed it is fitting..”: My soul, glorify Christ who became the King of the uni-verse. Lord God, the Son of the eternal Father, became Man by the Virgin and appeared among us to enlighten those who dwelt in darkness, and to assemble those who were scattered. 12th - As every year there will be a Pana-khyda offered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City for the 7-10 million Ukrainians condemned to death by starvation by Moscow - the 1932-33 Ho-lodomor Famine - Genocide. Selfreliance Ukrainian American Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a bus which will leave the Whip-pany Branch with a pick up at the Newark Branch of Selfreliance. Members of the credit union will have free transportation and non-members will be charged $10 per person. In order to take advantage of this bus you have to sign up for this trip. The bus will leave at exactly 10:30 am from Whippany (973-887-2776) and at 11:00 am from Newark. (973-373-7839)

Завдяки вам, ми вже досягли першої мети і заповнили термометр, який показує, що ми допомогли 2,016 потребуючим особам і те-пер ми поставили другу мету допо-могти 2,016-тьом потребуючим осо-бам в Україні і на даний час можемо допомогти ще 670 особам.

WE SINCERELY THANK EVERY-ONE who has supported our charita-ble project. In this year of 2016 we had hoped to help 2,016 needy peo-ple in Ukraine with a gift of $10. With your support, to date we have reached our goal and have filled a thermometer, which shows that we have helped 2,016 needy people and now we have set another goal of reaching another 2,016 people with warmth. Today we can help 670 more people.

Молімося за хворих! Let us pray for the sick!

A parent’s prayer for children O God the Father of mankind, please teach us not only what to give to our children but also what to withhold from them. Teach us when to reprove and when to for-bear. Make us gentle, yet firm; con-siderate and watchful and deliver us equally from the weakness of indul-gence, and the excess of severity. Grant that we can lead our children in the ways of wisdom and true piety by both word and example. O Heavenly Father, we commend our children to Your care. Please be their God and Father and mercifully supply them with whatever is lacking in me through frailty or negligence. Strengthen our children to overcome the corruptions of the world and to live honest lives so that they can become examples for the world around them to follow. Pour Your grace into their hearts and strengthen and multi-ply in them the gifts of Your Holy Spirit, that they may grow in grace every day. They have a long and difficult road ahead of them. Please be by their side always! Amen.

Допоможи нам знати, коли на дітей треба насварити а коли треба мати до них терпеливість. Допоможи нам бути лагідними але твердо три-матися всіх засад; допоможи нам бу-ти уважливими та обачними; і допо-

можи нам знайти рівновагу між тим, щоб забагато давати і бути понадмірно вимог-ливим. Допоможи нам провадити своїх дітей розумно і побожно і бути для них прикладом, як словом так і ділом. Небес-ний Батьку, ми даємо своїх дітей під Твою опіку. Прошу будь їм Богом і Батьком і милостиво давай їм те, чого мені через кволість або недбалість бракує. Дай їм силу подолати розбещеність світу і жити чесним життям, щоб вони могли стати прикладом своєму довкіллю. Наповни їм серця Своєю ласкою і посили та помножи у них дарі святого Духа, щоб вони могли щоденно зростати в благодаті. Перед ни-ми далека та тяжка дорога. Прошу завжди будь біля них! Амінь
