The villagers warned me what the conditions were like at higher altitudes, and advised me to takeenough food for a week. In the morning they showed me the way to get to the track up the mountain.When the snow starting falling it was very light, and I couldnt decide whether to carry on or go backdown. Soon, however, I couldnt see where to go. I wondered whether to retrace my steps and try tofind the track again. As the snow got heavier I began to realize that my life was in danger.
