Duties and Responsibilities
Provides vision and leadership for the School of Business.
Exercises educational leadership in preparing and presenting policies and plans to
the faculty (through the appropriate committees) for furthering the educational
responsibilities of the school.
Articulates the educational purposes of the campus and fosters their
accomplishment.
Manages resources of undergraduate and graduate teaching programs and arranges
for the interaction of division curricula.
Guides the planning and development of new curricular configuration.
Facilitates the development of research, performance and enrichment activities.

Works collaboratively with the Human Resource Department in the recruitment,
appointment, promotion, and termination of academic personnel.
Supports and assists the scholarly development of faculty.
Works collaboratively with other campus officials in relation to the implementation
of campus policies and integration of campus and faculty objectives.
Responsible for the financial affairs of the School, including seeking budgetary and
extramural funding and managing the School’s resources; facilitates grant
applications.
Some Major Accomplishments
1. Managed Students, Faculty and three departments in the School of Business
(Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Department of Management and
Marketing and Department of Entrepreneurship and Continuing/Professional Studies;
20 Faculty and Staff; 40+ graduate student, Undergraduate 500+,).
2. Managed and responsible for transforming MBA face to face learning to fully online
(40+ graduates).
3. Managed School of Business online MBA and BBA programs with six specializations
in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Human Resources, Health Care
Management and Hospitality and Tourism Management.
4. Degree programs approved/in process of Approval during tenure:
Ph.D. in Business Administration in collaboration with Monte Morelos
University in progress of approval.
Online MBA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Human
Resources and Health Care Management approved by ACTT.

by effectively managing all financial tasks, overseeing budgeting and accounting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities and Achievements
This position was responsible for planning, developing, directing, and controlling
Spicer’s financial resources of 3000 students and 400 employees in terms of operating
($45M) and capital ($70M) Budgets, cash management, investment statements,
endowments, and treasury functions. Additionally, I had oversight responsibilities for the
institution's financial services and business affairs such as accounts payable and
receivable, budgeting and planning, human resources, payroll, facilities operations and
maintenance, housing and dining services, internal audits, procurement and contracting.
Achievements:

Financial accounting and reporting:
Developed and maintained timely and accurate financial statements and reports
that were appropriate for users in accordance with generally accepted accounting
principles (GAAP).
Developed, implemented, and ensured compliance with internal financial and
accounting policies and procedures.
Ethically prepared all supporting information for the annual audit by an
approved external auditor.
Documented and maintained complete and accurate supporting information for
all financial transactions.
Developed and maintained financial accounting systems for cash management,
accounts payable, account receivable, credit accounts and petty cash.
Successfully managed the cash flow and prepared cash flow forecasts in
accordance with policy.
Efficiently managed the bookkeeping function, using the Simple Accounting
Package, including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts
receivable and payroll.
Participated as a member of the Finance Committee.
Assisted the President and VP, Finance with financial reporting as required at
Board meetings and the Annual General Meetings and provided advice to support
the decision making process.
Payroll preparation and administration:
Prepared all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and
accurate manner.
Assisted with the negotiations and managed the employee insurance and benefits
plans.
Processed and submitted statutory and benefits remittances on times.
Reviewed and authorized the Institution’s tax returns.
Managed the tracking of vacation, sick leave, and other leave.
Budget preparation:
Used the “Zero-Based” approach for budgeting, prepared the annual budget in
consultation with the President and VP, Finance and or Finance Committee.
Assisted staff with the preparation of budgets for funding applications.
