I am not surprised that the GetRecordById operation returns only one record for each identifier, because it is supposed to do so.

The problem is with the GetRecords operation. Often, the pagination does not work properly.

Many countries were suffering (or still are) from duplications even though for different reasons, please see Issue #2894

Could you also please tell me your CSW implementation, as I requested in Issue #2869 ?

Many thanks for checking your service and for documenting your tests.

However, the bug is in the pagination of results so you will not see the problem if you ask for all the records in a single request (e.g. all the datasets orall the services) like I read in your document.

It happens when you get the records in batches, e.g. 1-20, 21-40, 41-60, etc.

according your explanation, it´s normal that there are duplicates metadata because "the LAST of the first batch is "position 41" and it is the samemetadata record that the FIRST of next batch "position 41".

I think that you are duplicates metadata in the each limit of the batch :0-20, 21- 41, 41-61, .....

I think you should resquest the limit of batches to avoid duplicates : 1-20, 21-41, 42-62, ...

In relation about all identifier of our metadata, you can see in http://www.idee.es/csw-codsi-idee/srv/spa/csw?service=CSW&version=2.0.2&request=GetDomain&PropertyName=Identifier that there aren´tduplicates in our database

It might be tricky to realize, if you are used to assuming that 0 is the index of the first element in a list, but in OGC CSW 2.0.2, if you want to get thefirst record you need to specify startPosition = 1

The startPosition parameter is used to indicate at which record position the catalogue should start generating output.

The default value is 1 meaning it starts at the first record in the result set.

Thank you but what I meant was that we have cured the symptom but not the illness.

The SortBy clause shall not cause duplicate records.

Any other client that wants to get records from your INSPIRE Discovery Service, is free to use a SortBy clause because it is a standard functionality.

Have you opened a bug report against GeoNetwork?

Many other countries are using GeoNetwork for INSPIRE, so if you ensure they fix the bug you will help the INSPIRE Community and the quality of theINSPIRE SDI Infrastructure.
