Objective:- The main objective of National Championship – Basketball is to train Special Olympics Athletes and coaches for sports activities. Athletes before participating at National Level Games, they can get the national level training so that necessary improvements will be brought in and the performance will also be enhanced in their respective sports. Introduction, National Championship – Basketball was organized by Special Olympics Bharat-Gujarat at Navrachana Education Society, Sama Road, Vadodara, Gujarat on 19-23, March, 2015, Wherein only 8 states could participate in the event. A total of 332 athletes along with 55 Coaches, 46 Officials, 35 Volunteers, 10 Trainer successfully participated. A long with Sports Activities sessions, various fun and entertaining event were also arranged to give ex-perience joy to our athletes and coaches.

Details of the events:- On the First Day of the Program, all participating teams arrived till evening. The registration of all the campers was done at registration desk and after that, they were allotted rooms. In the Evening of the first day, A meeting of all the coaches and team managers was held wherein Miss Kirupa Patel, Mr. Prakash Chaudhary & Mr. Mukesh Goswami welcomed all the campers and asked them to introduce themselves. Then they were briefed them about the rules and regulation of attending the National Championship - Basketball. They also explained about the 5 days schedule to the coaches. Then the meeting was adjourned and all the participants went for the dinner. Overall the daily schedule of the camp was Morning Session of Both coaches and Athletes – Breakfast – Session of Coaches – Lunch– Relaxation– Evening Session of Athletes – Dinner – Sleep .

Opening Ceremony The Opening Ceremony was held on 21/03/2015 at VMSS Indoor Stadium, Sama, Vadodara, Gujarat on 5.00pm Approximately a total number of 1500 people were presided over the opening ceremony function. hard to make their team win. A lot of funny incidents

done by the teammates in the Ground that spectators

witnessed The Spectators came from the college Staff

for VMSS Indoor Stadium, Sama, Vadodara, Gujarat

& Schools Students and from the Sports Complex for

cheering up our athletes in their efforts.

participation at National Championship – Basketball

Food:- Mr. Bhavin Parmar the in charge of Food handle the food responsibilities for smooth running and efficient performance, athletes and coaches should be very healthy and strong. For that we have prepared menu accordingly. All the campers really appreciated the food.

Transportation:-

Mr. Vasant Patel & Mr. Mukund Dixit Transportation in charge strongly handled transportation responsibilities to pick all the athletes and coaches coming from different states of India to event venue.

Accommodation:- Mr. Lilesh Desai in charge of Accommodation handle the Accommodation responsibilities of accommodating all the campers. The rooms were allotted from the hostels of Dada Bhagwan Sat Sthanak, Dabhoi Road, Vadodara. The campers were given all the facilities timely to get ready and reach to the Sports Ground timely for various practical sessions.

Conclusion:- Special Olympic Bharat-Gujarat successfully conducted the National Championship-Basketball. All the coaches participating were very keen and showed their zest and interest to train such athletes and encourage the maximum participation at District, State, National as well as International level competitions.
