When the vehicle is in forward gear, the howl components, Sunwheel, Planet Wheel Carrier and the Crownwheel turn at the same direction and at the same speed.

When the vehicle is in backward gear, the Planet Wheel Carrier is locked and the Sunwheel turn in the opposite direction to the Crownwheel.
