Velocità, comfort e sicurezza, queste sono le chiavi di successo della Navigazione Libera del Golfo, nata

nel 1956 ma figlia di una tradizione secolare, quella del-la famiglia Aponte, proprietaria della società. Sì, perché navigare è il loro mestiere. Lo fanno da secoli, lo faceva-no i loro avi e gli avi dei loro avi. L’origine degli Apon-te infatti risale proprio alla fine del Medioevo e, tra i pa-droni di barche registrati al porto di Napoli, tra il 1492 e il 1494, figuravano già i nomi dei loro antenati. La loro attività di armatori inizia a Sorrento, loro terra natale, a cavallo tra l’Evo medio e quello moderno. Più di mezzo millennio di storia documentata che ne fa una delle fa-miglie imprenditoriali più antiche d’Italia e la loro socie-tà, la Navigazione Libera del Golfo (NLG) è oggi leader del cabotaggio italiano con oltre un milione e seicento-mila passeggeri trasportati nel 2012 e 15 navi in servi-zio di cui 11 jet. Agli inizi dello scorso secolo, quando le prime navi a motore cominciavano a sostituire le anti-che feluche, barche in legno a remi e vela, e i primi turi-sti figli della “Bella Époque”, cominciavano a scoprire le bellezze del golfo di Napoli e delle sue “perle”, gli Apon-te già disponevano delle più moderne e veloci navi del tempo come la “Sparviero” agli inizi del Novecento, che raggiungeva i 12 nodi o la Santa Maria, tra le 2 guerre. Dopo la fine del secondo conflitto mondiale, gli Aponte si dovettero rimboccare le maniche ricominciando a la-vorare con quel che restava della loro flotta dopo i dan-ni inferti dalla guerra riprendendo a navigare sull’onda

del boom economico e incrementando di anno in anno il numero di passeggeri. Forte di questi successi nel 1956 fondano la Navigazione Libera del Golfo (NLG) che su-bito diventa leader del trasporto marittimo regionale. A metà degli anni Ottanta poi, l’ennesima svolta, la NLG acquista, come tradizione di famiglia del resto, i più mo-derni mezzi marittimi esistenti sul mercato: le navi jet, che non hanno elica e sono capaci di trasportare fino a 4-500 passeggeri a una velocità di 30 nodi orari in massi-mo comfort e sicurezza. Nel frattempo la crescita conti-nuava, non bastava più ai dinamici Aponte navigare solo nel golfo di Napoli e cambiarono mare. Iniziarono co-sì anche i collegamenti con le isole Tremiti nell’Adriati-co e recentemente, con le Pontine, ubicate un po’ più a nord di Capri. Oggi la NLG collega 3 arcipelaghi parten-do da 4 regioni: Capri in Campania, da Napoli (molo Be-verello), Positano, Amalfi , Sorrento e Salerno; le Tremiti dai porti pugliesi di Rodi Garganico e Vieste, e da quel-lo molisano di Termoli mentre per le Pontine da Terraci-na nel Lazio. - R. Personale qualificato e un ampio e moderno parco mezzi hanno permesso alla so-cietà di diventare partner di importanti industrie siderurgiche e metalmeccaniche del sud Italia, alle quali assicura un tempestivo ed efficiente servizio di raccolta de-gli scarti di lavorazione, in regime di massima sicurezza. L’attenzione all’ambiente e alla sua salvaguardia si manifesta con l’utilizzo di macchinari evoluti e la certifi-cazione di tutti i processi di lavorazione, che avvengono nel rigoroso rispetto del-le norme. La Irmes negli anni si è specializzata nel ritiro di ogni tipo di prodotto ferroso: dall’acciaio all’alluminio alle leghe, prevalentemente nichel, molibdeno, titanio, cromo e inox. Dopo essere stato opportunamente selezionato, pressato e cesoiato, il materiale viene poi rivenduto a fonderie, acciaierie e trafilerie, assicu-rando loro un prodotto di qualità per caratteristiche e dimensioni.

Speed, comfort and safety are the keys to the success of Navigazione Libera del Golfo, born in 1956 but off-

spring of a centuries old tradition, that of the Aponte fam-ily, the company owners. Yes, because navigating is their trade. They have been doing it for centuries, their forefa-thers did it and so did the forefathers of their forefathers and forefathers of their forefathers; in fact the origin of the Aponte’s dates back to precisely the late Middle Ages and amongst the boat owners registered in the port of Napoli between 1492 and 1494 you can find the names of their an-cestors. Their shipowner business began in Sorrento, their birthplace, between the late middle ages and early modern age. Over half a millennium of documented story making it one of the most ancient entrepreneurial families in Italy and their Navigazione Libera del Golfo (Nlg) company now leads the Italian coastal navigation with over one million and six hundred thousand passengers carried in 2012 and, 15 boats in service, including 11 jet boats. At the beginning of the last century, when the first engine powered boats started to replace the ancient feluccas, wooden rowing boats with sails, and the first tourists, children of the “Bella époque”, were starting to discover the beauties of the gulf of Napo-li and its pearls, the Aponte’s already owned the most mod-ern and fastest boats of the times, such as the “Sparviero” at the beginning of the nine hundreds reaching 12 knots or the Santa Maria between the two World Wars. fleet after the damage inflicted by the war, taking up navi-gation once again on the wave of the economic boom and increasing the number of passengers year by year. Fortified by this success, in 1956 they founded Navigazione Libera del Golfo (Nlg), immediately becoming the leader of the regional maritime transport service. Then came the ump-teenth turning point in the middle eighties, Nlg purchases, on the other hand true to family tradition, the most cutting edge means of sea transport on the market: jet boats, with-out a propeller and able to carry up to 4-500 passengers at a speed of 30 knots per hour in maximum comfort and safety. And in the meantime expansion continued, navigating the gulf of Napoli alone was no longer enough for the dynamic Aponte’s so they changed sea. And this is how they also be-gan links with the Tremiti Islands in the Adriatic and recent-ly with the Pontine Islands located a little to the north of Capri. Nlg now links 3 archipelagos sailing from 4 regions: Capri in Campania, from Napoli (Beverello pier), Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento and Salerno; the Tremiti Islands from the Puglia ports of Rodi Garganico and Vieste, and from the Molise port of Termoli, whilst for the Pontine Islands they leave from Terracina in Lazio. - R.
