Closer to the South Bay Life Gets Better By Rob McCarthy

If South Bay residents seemed distracted these past few weeks, it’s understandable. The run-up to the heavyweight presidential contest grabbed everyone’s attention and the knockout finish hasn’t let go.

The three-week-old transition of power unfolding in Washington has lived up to the Irish proverb, “may you live in interesting times.” While many of us were looking away, recent events occurred here at home that should give South Bay residents, their families and friends reasons to be thankful today. There are plenty of reasons to look forward to 2017. Here are just a few:

Boeing Co. announced it is moving 1,600 jobs to Southern California as part of a reorganization aimed at winning more contracts. The aerospace contractor by 2020 plans to move jobs from the Boeing plant in Huntington Beach to El Segundo, Long Beach and Seal Beach. The company will close down sites in El Paso and Newington, Virginia to operate its defense, space and security businesses more efficiently.

Relief from high gas prices is expected to continue and give Californians more disposable income next year. A new report by an oil industry watch group says that oil-producing members of OPEC aren’t expected to lower their daily output of crude oil anytime soon. The U.S. meanwhile has stockpiled oil reserves, adding to the glut of domestic oil that had driven crude prices below $100 per barrel. Southern California motorists are paying under $3 per gallon for regular unleaded--nearly $1 less than they were paying 15 months before.

A majority of adults like their health care. A UCLA study published last week found that most adults between 46 and 64 say they like their health plans. Ninety-two percent of the people surveyed told researchers at UCLA’s Center for Health Policy Research they like their health plans so much that they wouldn’t change unless the premiums became too costly. The center’s director, Gerald Kominski, characterized the poll results as evidence that Americans don’t think their health care system is broken. They

are satisfied with their coverage, though they are worried about their costs. The poll based its findings on interviews with 400 men and women, according to UCLA’s health center.

The Dodgers are contenders. The Chicago Cubs got the monkey off their backs by winning the World Series for the first time in a century, so could the Los Angeles Dodgers be next? With their shortstop Corey Seager being named National League Rookie of the Year and with Manager Dave Roberts picking up the award for best skipper, the Dodgers head into the 2017 season with big expectations. They haven’t appeared in the World Series since they won in 1988. They got close this season, but couldn’t keep the highly-favored Cubs from reaching their destiny. L.A. has hosted victory parades for the Lakers, Kings, Sparks and Galaxy. It has been nearly 30 years since the city hosted a World Series winner, and the Dodgers have playoff experience that should help them get over the hump.

Crime rates are dropping. California is a safer place to live compared to 20 years ago, according to the state’s Attorney General’s Office. The violent and property crime rate is half of what it was in 1995. Recently, California’s violent and property crime rate started increasing after years of decline. LAWA Named Employer of the Year by Women in Transportation-Los Angeles

Centinela Valley Receives UCLA California Mathematics Readiness Challenge Initiative

Women in Transportation-Los Angeles (WTS) named Los Angeles World Airports as “Employer of the Year.” The award, pre-sented at WTS’s 30th  Annual Scholarship and Awards dinner November 16, recognizes LAWA’s continued efforts to support and promote a diverse and inclusive workplace, as well as outreach efforts that encourage women to pursue careers in transportation.

“Hiring and cultivating a thriving diverse workforce enables all of the great things happening throughout LAWA’s airports,” said LAWA Chief Executive Officer Deborah Flint.

“I am so proud of the Los Angeles World Airports staff,” said Board of Airport Commis-sioners Vice President Valeria Velasco. “With aggressive recruitment and outreach efforts, innovative hiring practices, and a variety of education and enrichment programs, LAWA

Centinela Valley Union High School Dis-trict (CVUHSD) was one of only five districts awarded the UCLA California Mathematics Readiness Challenge Initiative grant.  The $1.28M grant will provide for in-depth profes-sional learning opportunities in Mathematics for a collaborative composed of CVUHSD Mathematics teachers, instructional coaches, school site administrators, and faculty from UCLA to support the implementation and

has proven that airports can be the best place to work and can lead to a satisfying career.”

Women currently serve in over 50 percent of LAWA leadership positions, from depart-mental managerial roles to the executive level.  LAWA also provides a variety of programs that encourage women to pursue careers in transportation, including its Gender Equity Program, which strives to foster a work en-vironment promoting equal participation of women in leadership positions at all levels, especially in historically under-represented STEM areas. Its Gateways Internship Program offers college students salaried internships while they contribute new ideas and skills to LAWA’s airports.  High school students also can work at LAWA through HIRE LA’s Youth Program, introducing students to aviation-based careers through paid internships.

evaluation of grade 12 experiences that are designed to prepare students for placement in college-level courses in Mathematics. Through this partnership with the UCLA Teacher Education Program, CVUHSD will be introducing a new Mathemat-ics course, Introduction to Data Science (IDS) and providing extensive professional learning for their Mathematics Teachers. •

The annual Seniors Christmas Luncheon will be held on Friday, December 2 at noon at the Memorial Center. All seniors are invited to enjoy a great lunch and a lot of good social time during this special time of the year.

BeSt BurGer iN HawtHorNeLast week I wrote about a few of the eating

hangouts on Inglewood Avenue. Since some of my ten readers enjoyed it, I thought I would continue my tales of tummy tidbits. Me and my buddy were helping a friend move out of his apartment over in Moneta Gardens last Saturday and after climbing two flights of stairs carrying 70 boxes all morning long we decided to try out B & R Burgers on Rosecrans, just east of Yukon. We both ordered the King Burger with everything on it. It was only $4.99. Wow! It definitely was worth the ten minute wait while they cooked it to perfection. I would rate it as one of the best burgers in the city. R & B is a mom and pop operation. Sorry to report that they do not serve cold ones to wash the delicious delights down with. They were busy and seemed to have no problem competing with McDonald’s right across the avenue. There is something to be said about patronizing a small business when the choice is real, tasty food or fast food handed to you in a bag as you at the drive thru window. Small Business Saturday is November 26th, this coming Saturday. Make a point to find a hometown business that is delivering a product or service that is most of the time better than the big box stores or crowded malls.

PrayerS for offiCerAs most of you know, one of our Hawthorne

Police Officers was shot in the leg last Saturday late afternoon after a confrontation with a suspect in the Public Storage facility on Rosecrans. As soon as the call went out, “officer down” there was an immediate response by surrounding enforcement agencies. Rosecrans was closed for most of the evening. Helicopters were above shooting news video. But the most important news was that the officer had non-life threatening injuries. This incident could have been much worse. I can’t imagine what each of our officers think and feel when one of their own is shot. Every call that they response to brings a new situation for them to deal with. They never know what the individuals are going to do. Our prayers go out to the officer, his family and all of our men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect us.

Well at least a few of the large department stores have said they will honor Thanksgiving and not open Black Friday on Thursday. Have you ever gotten up at 4 in the morning to go stand in line to run into a store to get a sale bargain only to find out that they had only ten of the special

items to sell? My old lady always wants me to get the 99 cent Poinsettias at Home Depot. With no limit on how many you can buy, I usually end up filling my pickup truck bed with poinsettias. She gives them away as gifts and decorates our home with the colorful red flower. Ecommerce is BIG all weekend long. Cyber Monday started several years ago. This year we have four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas which gives us a few etra days to shop. My nativity business has grown once again this past year. We now are producing our product year around with over 80% of the sales coming the last six weeks of the calendar year. The Bible Belt southern states is where a majority of our orders are sent to. Texas and Florida always rank high on the list of most sales. People like to set up a nativity in front of their home to let others know the “real reason for the season”. The name of our company is Outdoor Nativity Store. Check us out online by going to outdoornativitystore.com. I’ll make you a sweetheart of a deal if you are interested in displaying a nativity at your abode. Christmas season can be hectic and somewhat stressful for a lot of folk. Jesus came to give us peace. Even during the busiest of seasons, we can relax and have peace knowing that God is in control.

Cardinals Keep Rolling in PlayoffsBy adam Serrao

When this year’s football season originally began, there were many questions about what head coach Travis Clark and his Lawndale Cardinals prospects would be. After a 28-3 win at South High in the very first game of the year, things looked good. A three-game losing streak soon followed, however, and Lawndale fans began to get nervous. An extremely young team seemingly only needed time to gel. After winning five of the last six games of the regular season, Clark has his team on a roll. A victory over West High two weeks ago in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs kept the team rolling. Now, with a 38-14 trouncing over Summit in the quarterfinals last Friday night at Lawndale, the Cardinals have a CIF championship on their minds.

In the first half, the football game between the Lawndale Cardinals and the Summit SkyHawks was like a heavyweight fight. Both teams were trading punches, attempting to get over on the other. With under a minute to go in the first quarter, it was Summit that landed a huge punch. A 35-yard touchdown pass gave the SkyHawks a 14-7 lead after a completed two-point conversion. That’s when Jordan Wilmore came to the rescue for Lawndale. Wilmore tied things up just before the end of the quarter, and despite a scoreless second quarter of play was ready to explode in the second half.

Summit star running back Stephen Carr looked to continue his magnificent season and make a case for player of the game when he began the second half with a 45-yard kickoff return. After Summit eventually punted, however, it was all Wilmore. A 23-yard run in the third quarter by the Cardinals running back set up quarterback Jalen Hamler’s 26-yard touchdown pass to get things going and give his team the lead. On their next possession, Wilmore broke free for a 40-yard run and later dove into the end zone to double up on Summit with a 28-14 lead just before the third quarter came to an end. “Wilmore was so motivated because of Carr,” Clark explained. “He watched a lot of tape of him.” Carr finished the game with 143 yards. Wilmore had 325 and four touchdowns.

“Carr is really good,” Wilmore explained. “But I want to be better than him.” It looks as if Wilmore proved his point. With the lead in hand in the second half, the Cardinals turned to Wilmore and the power running game. “We turned to our offensive line and put the ball in the hands of our sophomore running back,” Clark explained. It paid off. Summit was never able to get back into the game and as time ticked off the clock, the SkyHawks would remain scoreless throughout the second half. Wilmore capped things off with a touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the deal for his team.

Hamler finished the night going 11-for-17 through the air for 138 yards and a touchdown. Ahmir Wilson totaled 53 yards and a touchdown. It was Wilmore who was the star of the night, though, and helped Lawndale (8-4, 4-1) advance to the CIF Southern Section Division 6 semifinals where it will take on the Paraclete Spirits and look for a chance to advance to this year’s CIF championship game.

HawtHorNeThe Hawthorne Cougars struggled to get

much going in a down year for their football team this season. A traditionally competitive Ocean League saw three teams battling it out for first place all season long. Hawthorne would finish in fourth place and while head coach Donald Paysinger and his team saw losses come in bunches, their victories proved to be dominant and gave fans hope for the future.

Paysinger and the Cougars had trouble coming out of the gate this year. A 35-21 loss to La Canada to open the season was followed up by a 42-0 blowout win over Rivera in which starting quarterback Andrew Kalinowski threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Following their first victory of the season, however, Hawthorne would fall victim to a three-game losing streak that led into the beginning of league play. Coaches often say that the start of league play is like the start of a new season. Hawthorne won its first two games over Beverly Hills and Santa Monica respectively and looked like a brand new team. Unfortunately, the Cougars’ hopes of turning their season around would be dashed after yet another losing streak. Hawthorne (3-7, 2-3) fell in its last three games of the year to take a fourth place finish in the Ocean League Standings and miss out on this year’s playoffs.

iNGLewooDThe Inglewood Sentinels remained

competitive in an extremely aggressive Bay League behind head coach James Sims early on this season. The year was really a tale of two halves. The first half was before league play started, while the second half was post-league-play competition. Before league, Inglewood put together some nice wins. A 34-7 victory over Angelou to start the year gave the Sentinels some momentum. A 64-0 blowout over Blair and a 22-19 win over Pioneer soon followed.

Once league play began, though, Inglewood looked like a completely different team. Four losses in a row to Palos Verdes, Peninsula, Mira Costa and Redondo would result in a 1-4 league record for the Sentinels (4-6)--which was good enough for a fifth place finish and well out of playoff contention. A team full of juniors and sophomores certainly gained invaluable experience this season and should be back to make a difference in the Bay League next year. •

A Letter of ApologyOn Behalf of El Segundo Community and

El Segundo High School, I would like to apologize for any negative incidences that took place with our football game vs Lawndale High School on Friday, Oct 21. In what was expected to be a highly anticipated football contest, emotions spilled over into the stands and our Eagle Student Section.

It was brought to our attention, that profane chants took place after the game, that were directed to Lawndale High School and that several families and their children felt unsafe at our school. In addition, it was also brought to our attention the Public Address announcer said disparaging remarks about Lawndale during the postgame handshake.

This type of behavior is not indicative of the community or the student body of El Segundo High School and has been addressed by our school administration. El Segundo High School strives to provide a positive and student friendly environment when attending home events, and we hope that our two communities will continue to work closely together and provide a positive educational and extra-curricular experience in the future.

Our Apologies,Jaime MancillaPrincipal

Rivalry Holds True Between Cardinal and Blue

By adam SerraoThere’s nothing like a good, old-fashioned

rivalry matchup, especially when it’s between the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins. Both teams have been heading in opposite directions this year, which led most people to believe that the game would result in a blowout score. USC has been ascending

toward the latter part of the season while UCLA has been in shambles. Rivalries bring out the best in both teams and that’s why UCLA kept things close early. Ultimately, however, it was USC that broke free, shook the Bruins off and ran away with a victory. In what was still a relatively exciting game, the Trojans came away with a 36-14 win.

A pair of players attempted to make themselves household names in the first half. For the Bruins, it was Jordan Lasley. Lasley caught two first-half touchdown passes from starting quarterback Mike Fafaul, one of which got the Bruins out to an early 7-0 lead. Lasley took a mid-range, dump-off pass 56 yards for a touchdown in the opening moments of the game, much to the delight of the home crowd at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The Trojans would respond when Ronald Jones got his fantastic night started with a one-yard TD plunge to tie things up at 7-7. To the Bruins’ and Lasley’s credit, they stuck with the game plan. The wide receiver beat Adoree Jackson early in the second quarter for his second touchdown of the night to give the Bruins the lead once again at 14-7.

Unfortunately for UCLA, that was the last lead of the night that they would enjoy. It wasn’t long before the Trojans would get rolling. That would happen on the wheels of their running back, Jones. Jones took the ball, busted through the seam and ran for a 60-yard touchdown that not only tied the game, but proved to be the turning point on the night. Not long after, De’Quan Hampton scored the first of his two touchdowns on the night to give his team the lead. USC never looked back. It was 23-14 at the half and by the end of the third quarter, the Trojans had pretty much put things away with a 30-14 advantage.

UCLA managed all of its points in the first half before being completely shut down by the USC defense. “It was just a really tough and humbling night,” Bruins head coach Jim

Mora explained. “Regardless of how this year has gone, those young men have done some tremendous things here. This was the first game that we’ve kind of not been in. That’s disappointing.” What was also disappointing was that with the loss, UCLA is now assured its first losing season in Mora’s five years at the helm of the team. The Bruins have lost

five of their last six games. The Trojans, on the other hand, are riding

high after their victory--not only because they put a whooping on their biggest rival in history, but also because they have finally put a horrid beginning of the season behind them and remain in contention for a Pac-12 South title. “We still need a little help, but now we’ve set our mark at 7-2,” USC head coach Clay Helton explained. The Trojans will finish the regular season off against Notre Dame this week. They’ll need to win that game and have Utah beat Colorado--a team that lost at USC last month.

Trojans quarterback Sam Darnold passed for 267 yards in the 86th meeting between the two teams. Jones rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns. USC has now won seven games in a row and has claimed the Victory Bell for the second consecutive season. The Trojans have now won 14 of their last 18 meetings with Bruins and the all-time series now stands at 46-31-7 in favor of USC.

The Bruins are headed for their final game of the regular season versus Cal and for the most part can’t wait for the season to simply be over. Despite a tough defense that continues to fight in every game, UCLA simply doesn’t have the firepower on offense, especially after starting quarterback Josh Rosen went down with a shoulder injury that ended his season. USC, on the other hand, simply keeps getting better under Helton. Darnold explains that with their new head coach there is “a shift in culture that you can sense now.” Darnold, Jones, and Hampton highlight a powerful offense that seems to have really found itself toward the end of the season. It may be too late to win the Pac-12 South and advance far enough up the standings to have a shot at this year’s playoffs, but the Trojans will try to prove their point and make an impact in their last game of the regular season this week against Notre Dame. •

It also has a small radio antenna and a trans-ceiver for the wireless side of the connection.

The only plug-ins required are your phone (or its charging base) into one of the rear jacks, and a power cord. Most wireless home phone devices also include LED indicator lights on the front to show signal strength and indicate waiting voicemail messages.

Savings On Landline, Long DistanceIf you already have cellphone service, you

can add wireless home phone to your account for the cost of purchasing the device (expect

to pay around $50), plus the cost of adding a secondary line for the service, which can be as little as $10 per month.

With most carriers, you’ll simply share the airtime minutes on your existing monthly cellular plan with your home phone line. Nationwide coverage is also a feature of most cellular calling plans, so in addition to your redundant landline service, you eliminate the need for a long distance carrier. There are even special rates just for seniors: for instance, Consumer Cellular, which specializes in service to users over 50 years of age, offers no-contract, post-paid plans at discounted rates to AARP members.

If you don’t currently have cellular service, you can still convert your landline to mobile simply by ordering a wireless home phone device, then signing up for a monthly service plan that covers the number of minutes you’re likely to use each month.

Never Miss A Call - Anywhere You GoWireless home phone service redefines the

meaning of “home.” The device is completely portable, so your service is, too; you can make and receive calls anywhere you have access to a cellular signal and an electrical outlet. Set it up anywhere you want in your home - you’re no longer restricted to locations near a wall jack.

Perhaps more significantly, you can take

FinanceWireless Home Phone Devices Offer Savings And Mobility

(BPT) - It seems more and more of us are “cutting the cord” these days, moving away from hard-wired connections to cable TV, internet service and more. The freedom to go wireless offers options that we couldn’t have imagined just five or 10 years ago - you can stream movies on your phone while sitting in the backyard, or do a Google search as you wait in line at the grocery store.

The last bastion of hard-wired service, the good old home telephone, is undergoing this transformation as well. Cellular providers now offer devices that let you turn your traditional home phone into a line on your cellular ac-count. You keep your home phone number, and even continue using your existing home telephone. But you’re no longer required to stay tethered to phone jacks - nor do you have to keep your home phone at home.

Small Device, Simple SetupWireless home phone service is offered

under various names - usually Wireless Home Phone or Home Phone Connect. It allows a regular wired telephone to connect to cellular networks as if it were a mobile phone.

Connections are made via a small device you can place almost anywhere in your home. It’s about the size of a wireless router, and contains the necessary electronics to provide voice-only telephone service to your phone from one or two jacks on the back of the unit.

it with you to a second home, a hotel or even a campsite and still receive calls made to your home telephone number, if cellular reception and a power source are available. It also works well with home phones that have additional handsets. By connecting the wire-less home phone device to the base of your primary cordless phone, it becomes accessible to your other cordless extensions, giving you even more calling flexibility.

Making The CutLike any cord cutting measure, wireless

home phone service isn’t necessarily for everybody. Your telephone service becomes completely dependent on a cellular signal - if, for instance, the nearest cell tower experiences an outage, you’ll be unable to make anything except emergency calls. There’s also no data signal on the line, so wireless home phone devices can’t be used with medical monitoring devices or fax machines.

But if you’ve been seeking a way to cut the costs of your landline service while also keeping your longtime home telephone number, it offers a practical and affordable solution. You save on monthly service, eliminate long distance charges, and the portability offers true modern luxury, especially for “snowbirds” or retirees who travel frequently. It’s a nice way to make yourself feel at home - wherever you go! •

is all about attitude. Making these small physical changes can immediately impact how self-assured you feel in any situation.

• Make self-care non-negotiable. Take time to listen to your body and give it what it needs to help you feel confident. For example, mil-lions of men and women experience bladder leakage, but products like Depend FIT-FLEX Underwear, which are designed to move with your body while offering trusted protection, can help you think less about leaks. That’s

energy you can devote to better things, like reconnecting with the people and parts of your life you’ve been missing.

• Keep your mind and body active. Being busy leaves you little time to overthink, so fill your life with activities you enjoy. Yoga, visiting friends, reading, cooking, going for walks or even organizing your closet all count!

• Speak with intention. The way you talk impacts your mood, your confidence and how other people perceive you. When you use

SeniorsCreating Confidence: 8 Steps To Feeling More Self-Assured

(BPT) - Virtually everyone struggles with a lack of self-confidence at some point in their lives and it’s perfectly normal to feel unsure of yourself in certain situations. However, if you find a lack of confidence is holding you back from fully enjoying your personal life, or achieving your professional goals, it may be time to take action.

“There are actually steps you can take to rebuild your confidence, even when you’re struggling to feel self-assured,” says Susie Moore, a motivational speaker, best-selling author and life coach. “Confidence is a real-life super power that affects every aspect of your life, from your relationships to your career and social life, but it’s also more attainable than you think.”

Moore shares tips on how you can be your most confident self and live a fulfilled, unconditional life:

• Tap the power of words and positive thinking by starting every day with an uplift-ing mantra. Positive self-talk such as “I am loveable. I am worthy. I am enough” can help boost confidence levels. Make a conscious decision to be more kind and gentle with yourself every day.

• Practice a strong pose and smile to help enhance your sense of confidence. Confidence

verbiage like “I’ll try” or “I don’t think I can,” you’re really allowing yourself permission to feel unconfident. Instead, build confidence and commitment with statements like “I will” and “I know I can.”

• Don’t overcomplicate things or allow yourself to be distracted by unimportant things. Focus on your daily objectives and long-term goals by cultivating a clear and positive vision of how you want your life to be.

• Listen to, but don’t heed negative opinions of others. Your positive attitude and vision are more important than anyone else’s negative thoughts.

• Be sure to reserve time and energy for your own priorities. Busy lives mean we can get bogged down with commitments to oth-ers, and while those things are important, it’s vital to take care of yourself and your own priorities first. Build your schedule around the time you need for your own goals and let everything else fit in around that.

“Confidence is an almost-magical quality that can help you lead your best, most ful-filled life and - more importantly - it’s in your grasp!” Moore says. Check out how Depend FIT-FLEX Underwear is helping real people feel confident and request a sample at www.Depend.com. •

Purrrfect Companions

Would you like to add a little love with a new best friend? As with every homeless pet, these kitties are looking for a special people who will love them in their new forever home.

Momma Kitty was found with her litter of five kittens roaming outdoors scrounging for food. She had been abandoned by her owner, who had been using her to breed and sell kittens. It is thought that she never had the opportunity to play with toys. Momma Kitty now loves playing and has relaxed significantly, seemingly knowing she is in a safe environment. Momma Kitty will make a great pet. She has not warmed up to the other two existing cats in her foster home, but is tolerant of their presence and might get along with other cats if given the chance. However, Momma Kitty is a very sweet cat who loves to be around people!

Are you ready to fall in love? Then look no further, because here is Ace waiting to meet you! He is a sweet bundle of love, irresistibly cute, affectionate and sweet too. His favorite pastime is getting belly nuzzles from humans and giving kisses and head butts. Since he is such a playful kitten, Ace would love a home with another young cat with whom he can play and wrestle. He was recently rescued from a hoarding situation and is now patiently waiting—hoping--someone special will show up to make him a part of their family.

Hermione is best summed up in one word: sweet! This three-month-old beauty loves to be near her humans and will happily spend time snoozing the day away on your lap or curled up next to you when you’re working on a computer. Hermione is a graduate of the Kitten Rescue nursery and as such, she loves and trusts people a lot. Her main activities are cycles of sleeping, eating, playing and exploring. She’s fearlessly unafraid of the

would be content to be an only cat or happily join other kitties in your home.

William and George were found abandoned and brought in when they were just days old. In their foster home, they were bottle-fed around the clock, traveling back and forth to work with their foster mom every day for five weeks to be fed every few hours. Being hand-raised results in wonderfully outgoing, affectionate and cuddly kittens and these boys are no exception! William and George don’t know they’re cats since they’ve been raised like little human babies in fur coats. As a result, they adore interaction and “hands-on” with their two-legged relatives. In their first foster home, these darling boys were raised with three kitty-lovin’ dogs, other adult kitties, and a young child (of the two-legged variety)--all of whom they absolutely adored.  If you’re looking for a kitten that will play, play, play and then fall asleep on your lap and snuggle next to you all night long, these are the boys for you! William and George are now ready for their own family and forever home. Since they’re very playful and energetic, they should

vacuum cleaner and hopelessly curious about interacting with the inhabitants of the aquariums in her foster home. Hermione doesn’t like to be left completely alone, and will cry if she can hear you but is not in the same room as you. So if Hermione is adopted into a household with another cat or adopted with another kitten such as her current foster friend Faith, she will do great!

Faith was saved from the city shelter at a young age before she was fully weaned. Having been bottle-fed by humans, she is extremely trusting and loving towards people. She is outgoing, curious and extremely playful. She loves every cat toy she ever met. After every play session, Faith will seek out the nearest human lap on which to snuggle. At night, she likes to cuddle near your neck for warmth and comfort. When you come home from work, she likes to greet you by running up and trying to jump on your arm. With her long legs and beautiful gray tuxedo coat, Faith is sleek and athletic. Due to her abundance of kitten energy, she would do best in a household with either another kitten or active young cat for playtime. She is currently being fostered with her kitten friend Hermione and the two are good matches for one another.

Orangecicle does not understand why his brothers and sister all got adopted, yet he is still in a foster home. How is that possible? He is as cute as can be! As you can see, he is very handsome with his soft orange and white fur. No crazy kitten antics--Orangecicle is over that stage of life. He gets along well with everyone and other cats. He is a low-maintenance type of kitty and no trouble at all. If you are on the sofa, he will sit by your side watching TV and is not particular as any show will do. All he needs is love! Orangecicle is ready to move on to his forever home and
